How is she expected to follow the rules when he looks at her that way?

It's impossible to concentrate with a boss like Brogan O'Keeley. If the man isn't driving her crazy with his brooding looks and blue eyes, he's killing her with his uptight, straitlaced personality.

He sets the rules and follows them without fail.

So, after the misfortunate event of stripping down to her undies in front of Brogan and his brothers (the three very hot owners of O'Keeley's Irish Pub), she's shocked that instead of applying for unemployment, her presence is requested to come into the office early.

Working alone with Brogan day-after-day doesn't bode well for that one, no-dating rule he's set. Following the rules has never been her strength, and after seeing exactly what's underneath those fancy suits and ties, Selena doesn't plan on starting now.

Her Irish Boss is a humorous love story between a sassy, messy waitress and her sexy, moody boss.

R A T I N G: 3.5 stars to Her Irish Boss! ★ ★ ★

“A toast,” Cathal announced.
“Keep it clean,” Brogan muttered.
“Here’s to women’s kisses, and to whiskey, amber clear; not as sweet as a woman’s kiss, but a damn sight more sincere.”

“I had someone tell me I wasn’t a human. I’d hate for my employees to think I’m not a fun, likeable fellow.”
“Look at that. No tie and you’re mingling with the little people.” She laughed at his scowl.

Palmer Jones writes an opposites attract romance; clean, warm and imbued with more than a dash of O’Keeley wit. With bossy Brogan present to take the lead, headstrong Selena to put him in his place and two charming O’Keeley’s who flavour this story with charm and heart, we’re set to watch the day-to-day operation of the O’Keeley restaurant and the day-after-day exchange of the up-and-down drama when the magisterial meets the contrary.

Because of previous sexual misconduct claims, Brogan O’Keeley makes it an official binding that romantic fraternisations are against sanction at O’Keeley’s Irish Pub, but it becomes a problem to enforce workplace conduct when his unchanging attraction to employee Selena Chapman throws all kinds of utensils in the works.

Surprised at his attraction completely because Selena his opposite in every way; the tardy, untidy and unpunctual to his bossy flawlessness. Selena might wear the guise of irresponsibility but her life epitomises the opposite. What we get with ‘Her Irish Boss’ is real, believable day-to-day struggles of a restaurant on the possible verge of shut-down and Selena’s home life responsibility. At times I didn’t know if I wanted to give grumpy Brogan a bear hug or pull his tie crooked and wrinkle his pristine suits - though, I think I’d manage to do both at the same time. :D

This story does end a bit abruptly, and though it’s present with tense drama and see-sawing relationship conflict (which I liked) it was missing more of a roguish, edgy quality that I’ve come to love with my romance reads. Still pleasant, though. I loved Brogan’s brothers, dare I say I loved them even more for being the levelers of this story and always taking Selena’s side.

With strong codes of conduct Brogan isn’t about to grant himself any exceptions when the rules have been put in place for reasons that keep him firmly at bay. No rule breaches. No rule breakers. No second chances. Clean cut, coolly meticulous and bossy, Brogan’s word is law…but not when he becomes the law breaking threat to his purposefully-put-in-place rules.

With a boss man determined to practice what he preaches, an imperishable heroine with a mind to preach her own practice, and two O’Keeyley matchmakers makes this eventful, light and wholesome.

A story that’s easy on the mind, a cover that’s easy on the eyes and a book that’s easy to enjoy! A good choice if clean romance is your forte!

Trigger Warning: Minimal swearing, (no f bombs) and a mildly described sex scene. Some instances of sexual harassment.

This was such a cute book! I LOVED the relationship between Cathal, Ryan, and Selena. No matter how Brogan acted, his brothers just adopted her into their family and treated her like a sister!

Selena has enough on her plate, and she really needs this job, but she has the hots for her boss. Why, when he's strict, serious, and always watching her? But as she spends more time with him, and gets to know him, she falls harder. And his on and off signals are confusing. But he wont openly date an employee and she wont be hidden again!

I enjoyed the characters, and the brothers. I can't wait to read the other books in the series!

Lukewarm romance story. If you are looking for very mild spice or no bad language, this is the book for you!
I felt like the book kept going on and on even though Brogan and Selena only dated for a month. I actually like Rian and Cathal, the brothers over the main character. I enjoyed Selena and Mimi’s family dynamic. Was a sweet book and the sneak peak for the next book says that Selena and Brogan tie the knot.

I never expect a whole lot from romance books other than spice and giggles, this provided none of that. There’s zero character development, no good plot and a boring fucking ending.

Love it

I love how natural and easy all the main characters interact with each other. I like the way Rian and Cathal envelope Selena into their family. The chemistry between Brogan and Selena. There's another feeling I get from this book... "home". Comforting and safe.

Slow

When I first started the book I gave up on it for dragging. I did finish it, but it took days because I kept putting it down. It didn’t keep my attention. It’s a story with an uptight boss who is trying to drum up the money to buy the building that his restaurant is in before a land developer does. He co-owns the place with his 2 brothers that he feels responsible for. He’s distrustful of woman since a woman he worked with filed a harassment suit against him.
Selena is a waitress who is struggling to care for her grandmother who has Alzheimer’s. She has an inferiority complex because an ex let her know that she wasn’t good enough for him.
I really thought that this story could have been told in less pages and the altercations with the slime ball developer just bogged it down more. I didn’t enjoy it and wouldn’t recommend it.

Light read. Plain. Simple. Unfortunately, it wasn't exciting but I didn't expect to find excitement when I pick this one up. I was looking for a short story to complete my Goodreads goal and came across this one is all.
I find Selena was somehow annoying and over-confident at times. She seemed attractive from others' perspectives but when she was the one who walks the narrative I didn't feel that she's attractive at all.
And the author chose ones of the most Irish names possible for all the Irish characters!

This romance was great. I really enjoy a romance that has some conflict between the main characters. This book kept Serena and Brody going back and forth. The characters of the two brothers also makes you want to read their stories.

I had high hopes for this book. I thought this would be completely different than it was. While I didn’t dislike it, I found myself enjoying other aspects of the story instead of the actual romance of it all. I liked the relationship between Selena, Katie, the co-workers and Brogan’s brothers Rian and Cathal but not the hero focus of Brogan. For a book that falls under romance, I really felt like this lacked it a bit. There wasn’t any advances, Brogan was fighting his desire towards her the whole time and it was very vanilla. There weren’t any emotional moments when they were sleeping together, nor was there any carnality in this book. All it felt like Selena and Brogan were doing was fighting, with Brogan pushing her away all the time due to his own fears he couldn’t get past. It felt like another young adult, teen story where the intensity was missing. It didn’t give me any huge feels, but the stories of friendship and how close Selena got to Brogan’s brothers was touching. If it weren’t for that part of the story, this would have been a very different rating and I’m not sure if I would have continued. I feel like Rian and Cathal’s books will be more of the same, but if there is any close knit connection between the love interest and the family, it might balance all of it out.

I wanted to like this more than I did. I liked the potential the storyline had, but honestly it didn’t go anywhere in my opinion.

This is book one of the series and can be read as a standalone. We are introduced to the O’Keeley men and in this book Brogan and Selena.

Brogan is the oldest of the brothers and has always been the responsible one. He has an intensity that the others brothers don’t have. He feels it is his duty to take care of his siblings and has done so since he was 14. He has rules and rules can’t be broken, especially when it comes to their employees.

Selena has worked for O’Keeleys for 6 months and she loves it. She needs to get her personal life in order so she doesn’t lose this job. She cares for her ailing grandmother and quite often that makes her late and garners her the attention of her brooding boss, Brogan.

Both of their past relationships get in the way of their current one. His constant and I mean constant reminder to himself that Selena is an employee and he can’t have her is too much. I loved the brothers and their relationship with Selena. They are the only reason they ended up together. I wanted to like this more, but I couldn’t get invested in the main characters enough...⭐️⭐️⭐️

A good start to the O'Keeley's Irish Pub. It's a light fun read. Good storyline and great characters.

The Irish Pub is equally owned by three brothers. Despite the difference in their personalities, they complement each other well. This is about Brogan, the eldest.

Brogan takes his family responsibilities and his business seriously. Due to past complications, he has a strict "no fraternising policy" in place. He is now fascinated with Selena, but his policy prevents him from acting on approaching her. He doesn't have the sunniest of dispositions, but she is attracted to the him just the same. She can't afford to lose her job, and he can't afford to lose her as a staff member. Will they find a way round the policy to explore this attraction?

The chemistry between Brogan and his two brothers, Rian and Cathal is captivating. Selena fits right in the family. She can stand up for herself, and she has the brothers' support. There is a little drama when the business is threatened, but working together is their saving grace. The push and pull between Brogan and Selena is dizzying, but comical to watch. All in all a good introduction to the series.

Selena is a waitress at the Irish Pub owned by Brogan. He is the oldest brother of three and feels very responsible for his two younger brothers and the business they run together. This is why when he is attracted to Selena, he tries to deny it since he is her boss and does not want to risk the business in a lawsuit.

It is a slow burn and there are still a lot of mysteries around the other two brothers. Honestly not a fan of one of the scenes where a woman shows up and yells at Rian, the chef brother, and we never find out what it is about. I am guessing we may in the next book but I found it a little irritating to have it happen and leave it until the next book.

This is not a closed door but it is not explicit. It reminded me a lot of early romance books that just implied what happened. And there is really only one scene that even goes there. Overall the development of their relationship was done well. I liked both main characters. Brogan who was stubborn and Selena who could stand up to him. Good read.

Ending was flat

While I liked the book and Selena and Brogan as a couple, I felt the ending was a bit flat. Brogan owns a pub and Selena works for him. He has a strict no dating policy at the pub but finds himself attracted to Selena. Brogan is a broody grumpy hot Irish man that Selena is attracted to. She was burned in the past by a guy that hid her because she wasn’t good enough. When they start dating Brogan is concerned about what people will think so he hides her and it pisses her off, reminding her of her ex. Instead of telling her his plans of getting rid of the policy when he buys the property he doesn’t and she breaks up with him. Things get settled but I felt that part was rushed just to finish the book. Sexy time was behind closed doors so if you don’t like explicit sex you’ll like this book. Loved her friend, she was fun and flirty and took the edge off but doesn’t look like she ends up with a brother.

This is a story about three Irish brothers, Brogan owner of a successful restaurant, Rian , a famous chef, and the youngest and the loudest Cathal, a womanizer and a lawyer.
.
This is the first book of Brogan and Selena story, a young girl who works a lot of hours so she can support her life with her Grandma Mimi.
.
I like the plot and the story but , it seems that I have no patience for insecure men.
.
Borgan has a difficult past with ex employees, so He fights his attraction with all he has, but also he doesn’t want Selena move on with other people.
.
So this goes on and on in the book, so I just want it to punch the guy…
Yep, no patience here…
.
I love the brothers relationship,  was what kept me reading this one.

This book had potential but the two MC got annoying and I was over it. I liked when I first started it, I could really feel the tension between Selena and Brogan and their workplace affair, but then the angst turned into anxiety and I got annoyed with it.. like 72% in Selena and Brogan are still both having doubts about what the other one wants and I’m like just talk to each other ??? Their communication sucked. They literally just did not understand each other. Selena felt like Brogan was hiding her, they never really were on the same page about how to handle each other in the workplace which just led to more doubt on each other’s dedication to the relationship. And then at the end of this book, I come to discover that they’ve only been together for a MONTH ??? All this drama in a MONTH? Also every now and then there would be a weird line that just didn’t match the story and this one is my favorite: “Every inch of his body recognized her as his mate.”

I want my 99 cents back.

I couldn't put the book down

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that like something a little different. It was a nice contrast to what normal romance books tend to be about.

All three of the brothers got along with the messy outgoing outspoken girl. Normally in the books the woman is always put together and gets flustered really easily. This woman she was very messy and her everyday life but he still found her so attractive.

The humor I like to spell I was laughing constantly on every other page and I couldn't seem to put it down.

I can't wait to read the second book because it deals with interracial couples which makes me excited
dealing with a few myself. Normally all the romance characters have olive skin so I skip over the description because they don't look like me

Stars: 2.5
Spice: 0.5

I got this book from a Stuff Your Kindle sale, I hadn't heard of it but it looked kinda fun.

The MMC's main fear about pursuing the waitress at the pub he owns is that he was previously seduced by an evil female employee who then sued and won (or settled?) a sexual harassment case against him. If the trope of the scheming woman falsely accusing a male employer of sexual harassment will annoy you (it annoyed me), probably skip this one. It comes up repeatedly.

Despite that, I did end up caring about the characters. The brothers were pretty adorable. The FMC is doing the best she can with a crappy hand she's been dealt. There are some pretty funny moments. The spice is basically fade-to-black, so if that's your jam you may appreciate this.

Had a love/hate relationship with this book. I love how strong willed Selena is, but the amount of times she would let Brogan hide her away after saying she wouldn’t ever let someone treat her like that started getting really annoying. It was constant and there was a point that I was sick of her saying it because I knew she’d just let him hide her away again.
The book also ended VERY quickly and semi abruptly and in a pretty extreme way (they had only been “seeing” each other a month!!!). There were a lot of loose ends that were not resolved, and the ending felt very rushed, which is something I never like, but that may just be the genre I guess?
The story was good and I love how protective Brogan and his brothers were, but there were some not so great aspects.

Selena is the most efficient and hard-working waitress Brogan O'Keeley has in his pub. The problem? She's always late and he can't get her off his mind. With lawsuits behind him, he's keen on the no fraternization policy and he sticks to it. Until one day, he finds himself asking Selena to come in early and gives her more responsibility.

This was a slow-burn romance where there are plenty of steamy moments, almost-moments, and keeps you wanting more. There is also some resentment and residual hurt on Selena's part that keeps her from moving past Brogan's behavior.

It was cute and I loved the interaction between the brothers. I enjoyed this quite a bit.

Definitely worth a read!

Love the strong family themes in this story. Characters were great and no crazy outlandish drama, like a lot of shorter love stories. The main hero had some hangups that felt a bit drawn out but his love interest had the patience of a Saint, to stick around for.

Really wish karma caught up with the villain in this book. There wasn't any closure for that issue. The author definitely washed over that when he was a big part of the story.

I still recommend reading this one at least once. Didn't make my favorites list but doesn't mean it won't make yours.

Waitress Selena Chapman is very good at her job - if she can manage to get there on time! And as the carer for her grandmother she can’t afford to be fired. So she definitely has to ignore the attraction she has to her gorgeous but grouchy boss Brogan O’Keeley. O’Keeley’s Irish Pub has strict rules about relationships amongst the staff and falling for the boss will not end well. It makes it a little hard when Brogan seems to keep forgetting his own rules!
A warm-hearted romance with the added dimension of a brotherly dynamic that adds depth and interesting characters. A fun and entertaining read.

(The author kindly provided a copy of this novel for review – with thanks).

Wonderfully entertaining!

This was such a riveting book that I read it in one day. I just couldn't put it down. Brogan, Selena, Rian and Cathal's characters were phenomenal. They just jumped off the pages they were so lifelike. The plot was interesting and kept me engaged. I really hope that we see more of that bad guy Simmons character in subsequent books. I really hope he gets what he deserves. I have put the next 2 books in this series on my wish list and can't wait to buy them too.

Cute romancy

A cute little romancy type book.  Three Irish brothers have moved to America, one a brooding control freak (Brogan), one a renowned chef (Rian) and one a flirtatious playboy lawyer (Cathal).  Family is everything to them.  After a bogus lawsuit for sexual harassment in the work place,  Brogan refuses to let the staff in his restaurant/bar have any kind of relationship, that is until Selena.  Brogan is attracted to her and she him but he can't let go of the past and Selena is not a person to hide. 4 🌟

The waitress' love

A good read, in its first part, close to reality in many catering setting: the working relation and conflicts between power- pressure- emotions... A waitress always in rush and late, trying to cope with work while keeping private the pressure of caring for an elderly relative.

Why two stars? The book drags on with cheesy scenes about and between the brothers and many vain sequences...

Brogan and Selena

I enjoyed this little romance between Brogan and Selena. The characters were likeable, complicated and hot. The plot was about Brogan getting burned by an ex so he constructed a rule of no fraternizing between the help of their restaurant. Then he fell for Selena. It is funny, sad and enjoyable. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger. There is an excerpt for book 2. Enjoy.

Great Chase

Very cute, and endearing romance. Her Irish Boss wasn't steamy steamy, but it ramped with sizzle and a lot of spice from the FMC. I'll definitely read more from Palmer Jones. Recent reads of the same genre haven't captured me enough to get through them within a week if I finished them at all. I was beginning to think it was me, but this captured me and I couldn't put it down, finishing in my more routine day or day and a half.
