The story was overall okay but I really struggled how the concept of consent was handled here. Honestly, this whole "I spare his life if you sleep with me" was dubious consent at best ... but more likely coercion. Also putting someone on a spell and make them super horny and compliant before sleeping with them felt a lot like the magical equivalent of drugging/inebriating someone - again, dubious consent at best.

Heat Factor: Not exactly closed door, but not particularly
Character Chemistry: They’re reincarnated lovers so not much opportunity for chemistry growth
Plot: Pharaoh kidnaps rebellious vassal prince’s bride before marriage is consummated…but they were lovers in a past life
Overall: Has some good meat but tells rather than shows

Enjoyed reading this book. At first the multiple characters introduced in the beginning made the story confusing until I got the hang of the main characters.
This is a story of mma a Shepard girl who was kidnapped by Pharaoh to become his concubine.
He falls for her instead and there’s a connection between them in previous reincarnations.
A good story.

Good Book
I enjoyed reading this book about Pharaoh Lamani and Maa love journey and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Pharaoh Lamani raided Prince Omek's palace because he stopped paying him homage and conspired against him. Prince Omek chose to flee like a coward and left his new wife Maa. Maa gave herself freely to Pharaoh Lamani for him to spare Prince Omek's life. They ended up falling in love and she's now pregnant with Khafre. I can't wait to see what happens next. ...more
