I've been on the water in boats in high seas and low. This story took me back to those times and resonated through my core. I was cold, I was scared, I was angry, I was so frustrated I cried. I felt every emotion the heroine Camryn Hudson experienced, thanks to the author's powerful writing and scene setting. Her husband dies in a horrible timber company accident. Not bad enough he's dead, he has chained her to a marina she's not sure she can run on her own. Could things get worse? Yes, and they ...more

Wonderfully written! Beautifully described scenery that draws the reader into the story. Attention to detail in portraying the running an isolated marina in British Columbia. Twists and turns in a complex plot. Well-written emotion that makes you feel for the characters. Superb job, Ms. Anderson. I look forward to the next in this series!

Loved the first-hand descriptions of remote marinas and the hard work it takes to survive in that wilderness. Great character development; really made me feel Camryn and Samuel are real.

This book is a real chiller, especially for a landlubber like me. The gorgeous setting of coastal British Columbia becomes ominous and threatening as you read about the nitty gritty details of trying to live on and maintain a floating marina. The author is an experienced sailor and uses her wealth of knowledge to bring the reader directly into every scene. The practical, legal, and emotional problems facing the heroine keep piling up until they seem insurmountable, but with the help of her ...more

A grieving widow, a loner, a precocious young boy, and a murderer. This mystery will have the reader guessing and second guessing. Excellent characterization and a fascinating setting in an isolated bay in British Columbia. If you want to read an intriguing story, grab this book.
