A former middle and high school teacher, she is a member of the faculty of Hamline University's Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults. She lives in Washington.
I almost stopped reading this book after the first several chapters as I simply was not favorably impressed with the characters or the plot. SO glad that I continued on! Great personal and inter-personal development, interesting historical "mystery", and a heart-warming, tear-jerker.
