Angela Marchmont is on a Mediterranean cruise. She is a very observant woman who likes to observe her fellow passengers.

There is a gossip, a newlywed couple, a step son who is jealous as well as a few other characters thrown in along the way.

This story is a very quick read.

The mystery is not difficult to follow. I figured out what was happening. So did Mrs Marchmont.

Ms Benson has written a well done quick story filled with interesting characters. If you are a reader of period mysteries, you

March 1927, Angela Marchmont is travelling on the S.S. Antibes, and learns that one of the passengers, a Dr Byfield, was ten years ago under suspicion for causing the death of his wife. Now recently married to a wealthy Belle Sylvester, her stepson, Allan Gage, is convinced the Doctor will repeat the act.
An interesting and enjoyable well-written mystery

Clara Benson is the author of the Angela Marchmont Mysteries and Freddy Pilkington-Soames Adventures - traditional English whodunits in authentic style set in the 1920s and 30s. One day she would like to drink cocktails and solve mysteries in a sequinned dress and evening gloves. In the meantime she lives in the north of England with her family and doesn't do any of those things.
