I love second-chance romance!! Especially one that has been ten years in the making. It’s so satisfying to see the main characters resolve the issues and reunite—essentially picking up where they left off and finally finding their happily ever after. Sigh.

Sometimes getting to that happily ever after takes a bit of work. Erik and Allie certainly had a bit more difficult path! It wasn’t Easy by any means. But it was so worth it!

I love this author's work and Ice Hockey Romance is my kindle catnip for sure so I happily dived into this latest instalment about the Chicago Blaze men and the women in their lives and got lost for a few hours with a Hero who now owns a little bit of my heart.

Easy (Erik Zimmerman) is enjoying the start to his Summer off season when his Mum needs his help back in the home town he has avoided for the last ten years. No one can say no to Mrs Z , so he makes the trip home i

Allie and Erik fell in love in high school and planned to spend their future together. Erik was a very talented ice hockey player with a promising future in the NHL. His whole future was mapped out and he couldn’t wait to spend it with Allie. When tragedy hits, Allie is left raising her nieces and nephew so her life focus from now on is on them. There is no way she will hold Erik back from the future he deserves, despite what she had hoped for them. She makes the choice for him and it will be 10 ...more
I started this one when it first came out since Ms. Rothert is an auto buy author and I always drop what I’m reading to switch to her latest. It started off well enough Erik Nothing is a successful NHL player who is headed home after the season is over in order to take care of his mother and his aunt. It’s there he runs into Allie Douglas; the girl he was in love with before he turned pro. So far so good. They run into each other and sparks fly. We get to see what broke them up and Erik, or Easy ...more

If you are looking for a perfect summer read, here is the formula...
Continuation of an awesome series + A swoony good guy hero + a strong heroine + a second chance at love. With Easy, Ms Rothert definitely delivers a touching second chance romance that had me hooked from the very beginning.

Erik (Easy) has been a character that I have enjoyed every time he has appeared in the Blaze series. I enjoyed getting to see him in his hometown to get to know him better. This book takes place in the off se

Second chance romance at its best and once you add it a great hockey storyline you get the perfect read for all lovers of romance in general as well as sports romance lovers.
Erik and Allie broke up when Allie graduated high school but what Erik never knew was she was doing what she thought was best for him, she loved him enough to let him go, to let him follow his career in the NHL without having her and her family commitments. It’s been nearly a decade since Allie ended her relationship with Erik and it wasn’t because she didn’t love him but rather it was because she did. Their dreams for the future included each other until her life was turned upside down and although she doesn’t regret raising her nephew and nieces the one thing she does regret is losing Erik.

In the years since Erik and Allie were together he has gone on to forge a successful professional hockey career, but he hasn’t forgotten the woman who broke hi

Easy is an amazing, sweet second chance romance.
Erik ‘Easy’ Zimmerman is a pro hockey player for the Chicago Blaze. In his off time, he returns to his small hometown to help his mom and aunt when they are both recovering from injuries. He tries to avoid seeing former girlfriend Allie because he is still heartbroken from their break up teen years earlier. But small town and all, they are soon thrown together. Easy and Allie have changed but their love has never faded.

This is another good book in this series. Erik is a hockey player for the Chicago Blaze and also goes by Easy. It broke my heart why Erik and Allie broke up when Allie graduated high school. Ms. Rothert’s writing brings out the love and anguish the two have gone through the last ten years. When Erik is forced to go back home (he is such a good son), he runs into Allie again and he feels the love he has always had for Allie. I was in awe of what Allie gave up to raise her nephew and two nieces. I ...more

5 star Review Easy (Chicago Blaze #6) by Brenda Rothert
The sixth book in the Chicago Blaze series and is the second change at love story story of defender Erik Zimmerman aka Easy and the woman he has always been in love with Allie Douglas. It most definitely can be read as a stand alone and it is not necessary to have read the previous books. However, do yourselves a favour if you haven’t read them yet and one click, they are a brilliant read and one of my favourite hockey series ever.
Allie inherited her nephew Max and twin nieces Hazel and Vi at her parents death. Her sister, Jenna made random visits in and out of their lives, three children with two different men. Hazel and Max are grounded in reality and resent their mother. Vi is needy and susceptible to false promises.

Allie made a decision to end her relationship with Erik, although she loved him because he would have sacrificed his career dreams to support her and the children therefore she made a clean break. “I said h

Erik “Easy” Zimmerman has to head to Emery, Wisconsin during the summer break to take care of his aunt and mother. He never planned to return to his childhood home but he can’t say no to his mother. Once he lays eyes on his high school sweetheart again everything changes. It is like they never broke up and the feelings are all still there.

I loved Erik and Allie’s story! I am a sucker for a good second chance romance, especially if it is a hockey one. Allie has spent 10 years raising he

What can I say. Brenda, your way of making me fall in love with your characters is like no other.

I mean how can you not fall in love with Easy. Tough on the outside but yet so soft on the inside. Dropping everything to go back to his hometown to take care of his mother and aunt who both have injured themselves......sweet right.

Six books in to this series and I don't think I could admit to loving them all. But there we go. Great group of men on the Blaze team. This book doesn't have much hockey time in it--it's off season. But we get a great second chance romance with lots of heart and that more than makes up for the lack of sports.

Erik and Allie grew up in small town Wisconsin. They meant the world to each other. They had plans. But Allie's world shatters and she suddenly in guardian for her nieces and nephew at age

Brenda Rothert lights the lamp with Easy (Chicago Blaze Hockey). In this story, hockey star Eric Zimmerman (aka EZ/Easy) goes home to Greentree Falls, Wisconsin after avoiding it for ten years. He inevitably runs into the girl who broke his heart; the girl whom he never stopped loving, Allie Douglas. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

Brenda Rothert does a great job getting you in the character’s heads. It had me pretty much experiencing every emotion. E

The drama, the family tension, the beautiful friendships ans suspense all made this an incredible book that should be high on your list to read!

Easy is Book 6 of Brenda Rothert’s Chicago Blaze series and what a deliciously sweet read it is. Lord knows I love hockey romances and lately I’ve developed a thing for second chance romances as well - This book was the best of both worlds. Erik and Allie were high school sweethearts who loved each other immensely. Unfortunately life happened and the two were forced to go their separate ways. Ten years later the two meet again and neither one can resist the pull that is

This is a wonderful, heartwarming story about love and second chances. I think a lot of people can relate to that from life experiences. I absolutely love this series from Brenda Rothert. She is such a talented writer emitting so many emotions from her readers. I feel like I am in the setting of her stories and I get all of the feels from the characters. At one point, I wanted to b***ch slap Jenna so much which shows how deeply the author makes her readers feel emotions!

This book had a sweet tone about it. Once Erik and Allie started to talk again they were all in, it was just figuring out how to work things out so that they could be together. I liked that they talked to the kids about their future and made a decision together and a family. And as with all family's there is that one person that pulls everyone down and sadly for these guys it was Jenna, who was a POS. I don't feel a bit bad with what happened to her, only glad that there was no collateral damage ...more

I LOVE me a second chance romance and Allie and Erik BROUGHT IT!

There's nothing I don't love about the Blaze and this series, but this couple had me rooting extra hard for their HEA. I love the small-town, unique family situation setting and this high chemistry couple getting their shot at the love neither of them left behind, even after a decade.

If you haven't started this series yet, get on it!

I’ll confess that of all the members of the Chicago Blaze, I wasn’t really looking forward to Easy’s story. Man, did this book prove me wrong. It was a beautiful second chance romance with lots of layers. I absolutely adored this book and could not put it down!

Erik and Allie get the second chance they deserve after 10 years of being apart. This is an hockey, second chance romance.

Beautifully written with an addictive storyline that sucked me in the heart of these amazing characters. This heartfelt story attached itself to my heart. Selfless characters that were perfectly created. Bottomline this is a must read.

The Chicago Blaze series is one of my favourites. As soon as I opened up Easy and started reading, I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. I'm not sure what it is about Brenda's writing that makes me feel that way, but I love it. It's just exactly what I need right now.

Easy is the story of Erik Zimmerman, whom we have met in at least a couple of the past books. He's one of the most level-headed, easy-going guys on the team (hence the nickname). He's the goalie, and anyone who follows ho

I’ve been loving this series of the Chicago Blaze hockey team! All the stories have been sweet with a touch of steam, a touch of angst, all with heartwarming feelings. In this story, Erik Zimmerman has to go back to his hometown of Greentree Falls, where he hasn’t gone in ten years, since he left for college and on to pursue his dream of the NHL. His aunt broke a hip and his mother, trying to assist her sister, broke an ankle. Since Erik is in his preseason break, he’s forced to go help these wo ...more

Second chance romance FTW!

There isn't a ton of hockey in book six of the Chicago Blaze series--it takes place over the summer--though Easy does help coach a youth hockey team. Instead the focus here is definitely on the "romance" part of this hockey romance, which is as it should be, because Erik and Allie have ten years of hurt feelings to work out and a whole lot of current day issues to deal with in order to get to their HEA.

But oh--do they ge

If you’ve ever read my previous posts on Brenda Rothert’s Chicago Blaze, then you’d know how obsessed I am with this series. Yes, it’s another hockey romance, but, mainly because Rothert rolls her stories out at a fast clip, with minimal self-imposed drama on the characters’ parts, I just. Can’t. Stop.

Then, when Rothert and her publicist released the book cover, I DIED. Eric is THAT guy?! I even emailed the author’s publicist just to let out my amazement, joy, and excitement over the cover model
