Harley My best friend asked me to be his best man at his destination wedding.
With a demanding and stressful job with NYPD life for me was all work and no play, but a week-long trip to Hawaii to celebrate Jameson's nuptials sounds like the perfect excuse to get away.
Leaving work behind wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, though.
That was until she walked up to me at the bar.
After a night of unbridled passion, I discover...she’s the maid of honor in Jameson’s wedding.
Raylynn My best friend asked me to be her maid of honor at her destination wedding.
After finding my now ex-fiance in a compromising position, escaping to Hawaii is the perfect excuse to find myself again.
With nothing to lose, I approach the hottest guy in that bar and take a chance on getting my own groove back.
There's just one hiccup...he's actually the best man in Liv's wedding.
It was only supposed to be a fling, but when returning home leads to chaos and one relocation to New York, can these two love birds go from fling to forever? Time will tell.
Afterall...425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love.
Aubree Valentine began her book world career back in 2016 as a virtual assistant for a friend/fellow author and as a book blogger. But, she began writing stories long before that.
After carefully learning the ins and outs of the Indie book business, Aubree finally decided to give publishing a try for herself - with a whole lot of encouragement from the friends and mentors she met along the way.
Her first book, Take Back My Heart, was released in the fall of 2016, with its follow-up - Come Back to Me launching a year later. They were quickly followed by her breakout novel, Hot Cop, part of the Too Hot to Handle Series.
Aubree has a degree in sarcasm and resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, two children and several furbabies. She enjoys reading, chasing after her twins (or trying to keep them out of trouble), cuddling with her husband, and coming up with new project ideas that often involve power tools. This addition to the 425 Madison Ave series was a hit! We started out on a much-needed vacation with a little fling, that led to a fun wedding hook-up, and even after trying to be placed into the friend-zone after coming back home, things all just pointed to Harley and Raylynn being a perfect match.
I should have known since I enjoyed the first book by this author in this series, Love Under Construction, that I would like this one as well. And this one I liked even better! Once again we got to see a lot of the characters we’ve met in other books in the series, and it is so much fun to see all the connections. I really like how seamlessly this author was able to weave the past stories and characters not only from her own book, but also from other authors’ works into this one.
But just with this story itself, I fell in love with Harley, he was the big strong cop, but also such a nice guy, taking care of Raylynn no matter what she needed. Whether it was after food poisoning, protecting her from a stalker, and just the steamy perfect sex as well! I loved the steam in this story, it was perfect, and sexy, and just the right amount for my liking. Can’t wait to read on in this series, and I definitely need to pick up more by this author!
This is a sizzling addition to the series. Raylynn found her fiancé cheating on her, broke their engagement and left her job as he was her boss. She escapes to Hawaii a few days earlier than originally planned and, after a close encounter with Harley, a man she meets in a bar there, she thought she'd had a one night fling. However, the reason she's gone to the island is to be the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding and is shocked to discover that Harley is the best man!
With food poisoning, an entitled billionaire, stalking and danger, this is a suspense filled, hot and steamy, contemporary romance. Harley has a stressful job with NYPD and definitely isn't looking for love but as the attraction between them grows will they keep it to a one night stand? What will happen when they finish being on holiday and return to different parts of the country?
This is a story with plenty of twists and surprises. It is a great addition to the series and includes many characters who have appeared in earlier books in the series. It was great to catch up with them and I look forward to continuing to learn more about them all in future stories in this series.
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
Love Under Protection is the fifteenth book in the 425 Madison series, yet it works perfectly fine as a standalone story. If you have read other books in the series – specifically Aubree Valentine’s Love Under Construction – you will recognise characters, but it is not essential.
In truth, I had a bit of a debate about what rating to give this book. I really enjoyed the first half and thought it could be a four-star rating. Although I enjoyed the second half, I feel things were a bit rushed. I wanted a bit more depth, I feel things moved a bit too quickly, and I wanted more of a surprise in how things came together. Thus, it became a three-point-five-star rating.
All in all, another enjoyable addition to the series.
I am glad to finally meet Harley 'Wags' Wagner who is the roommate of Jameson in book#6. He is a member of the NYPD and very straight forward alpha man. From fling to love the book has 🔥 scenes and action in between. Lastly I got to see some of my favorite tenants from 425 Madison :)
This is the fourth book that I've read in this book series, the 425 Madison series and I always enjoy reading each and every one of them, all in there own right are fantastic.
Harley and Raylynn have never met before and are both there in Hawaii attending there friends wedding and they decided to leave early to have a few extra days relaxing because they needed it.
Harley works for the NYPD and it's a very stressful job. Harley is a very sweet, caring, loving and protective man.
Raylynn has just caught her fiance cheating on her and had enough. While in Hawaii she decides that she's going to have some fun of her own too. These two meet in bar and there connection is instant but they both totally get more than they bargained for when they see each other again at the wedding. (NO SPOILERS).
I really loved the characters especially Harley, I loved how sweet and protective he is and how he takes care of Raylynn. They both have alot of sexual chemistry and there attraction is of the scales.
This is a new to me author and I will be looking out for more of her work in the future. I love the 425 Madison series but I honestly felt like this instalment was a tad predictable and I sort of felt like I knew where the story was going to unfold. I always love books that have epilogue as I feel like this adds that something extra special to the story and seeing where everyone is now.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released 23rd March 2020.
Valentine dives under the skin and into the heart. Prepare to be swept away. Harley and Raylynn bring out the best in each other at the worst possible time. Raylynn thought that she was happy in her life, until betrayal leads her into treacherous territory. Harley is the hero she never hoped to find. Fearless and sexy make for an addictive combination. Could these passing acquaintances have stumbled onto forever or could their chance for a happy ending have come too late? Sexy with a twist of serious adds to the temptation.
I really enjoyed Harley and Raylynn's story it was another super addition to the series. I thought these two were just smoking hot together not only did they have tons of chemistry but they were a lot of fun too I think this is my favorite book from the series and I would definitely recommend it.
Boy was the a great story. The angst with the ex was pretty crazy, I can not believe how that drama ended!!! Their fling aka friends with benefits aka just friends aka forever was the sweetest and hello, just imagining Harley in a uniform… HOT DAMN
Although this can be read as a stand alone characters from previous books in the 425 Madison series do make an appearance. This is the story of Harley and Raylynn who first meet at a bar in Hawaii and spend the night together. The next morning they are broken apart by the arrival of each of their friends and the start of those friends' wedding celebration. They soon find out that Harley is the best man and Raylynn is the maid of honor and then due to a misunderstanding their encounter goes awry and they part as just friends and not "with benefits". Raylynn returns to her home in Georgia to discover that her ex-fiance has not only bought her building and is evicting her, but has also sabotaged all her chances at a new job. Raylynn then moves in with her friends in their apartment at 425 Madison which happens to be right next door to Harley. Harley is a police officer and a true alpha male. He does everything he can to protect and look after Raylynn, especially when her ex makes an appearance, all while trying to remain "just friends". I loved this book just as much as the other books in this series. Once I started reading, I didn't want to put it down and there were definitely spots where I couldn't put it down as I had to know what happened next. I definitely recommend this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I just love this whole series, all the 425 Madison Avenue books. A good portion of this book takes place elsewhere. It starts with a destination wedding in Hawaii. (The wedding of Olivia and Jameson from Love Under Construction, book 6 of the series.) Raylynn is the maid of honor; Harley is the best man. Harley needs a distraction from a case he's working (policeman), and Raylynn needs to let loose after a bad breakup and losing her job. They find what they need in each other. Some misunderstandings ensue, and Raylynn ends up friend zoning Harley - especially since she lives in Georgia. But once she's home, Raylynn's ex isn't finished making her life miserable - he evicts her her apartment and badmouths her so she can no longer get a job. So off to New York she goes, to stay with Olivia and Jameson - right next door to Harley! Harley is happy to see Raylynn and proves to be a good friend, but the sparks are still flying. Add in that Raylynn's ex is still causing problems and has followed her to the Big Apple, and this book has more than just emotional drama. Harley must protect the woman he loves, and finally get up the courage to let her know! In a way, reading this book was liking visiting old friends while making new ones. It's a great addition of the Madison Avenue series!

I kinda feel bad that this book didn't do it for me.
I enjoyed Raylynn and Harley's story up to a point. When they were in Hawaii with the hook up and then the discovery that they were in the same wedding party, the story was fantastic. The chemistry between the two was office the charts. I even liked the set up for Raylynn to have the one night fling, but then they went back to their regular lives and that's where the story got spoiled for me.
It took a smoking hot story and just dosed it with a bucket of water.
An ex that was cheating but just had to have her? Enough that he was trying to ruin her life? I needed more for story for this to work for me. And for what happened in the end? It felt too much like something tossed in for good measure to make sure Harley and Raylynn had some good drama to close things out. Things needed to be more fleshed out with Sawyer for this to work, at least for me and he wasn't even a character in the story for the most part. He was mostly a brief mention at the beginning and truthfully, I never expected to hear from him again.
This is probably the only book in this series of 425 Madison that I didn't really love.

I LOVE this series, and LOVE Aubree Valentine's stories, so I was all in when I saw this one was to come out! Raylynn found her fiance cheating on her, so she broke things off, plus she had to quit her job since he was her boss as well. She's to be a maid of honor in her best friend's wedding taking place in Hawaii, so she decides to go a few days early. That's when she meets a hottie named Harley at a bar there, and they hook up. Harley is a workaholic, stressed out member of the NYPD, so has no time for women making hooking up with the beautiful woman in Hawaii fine with him. Little do they know, but they're both in that wedding, as he's the best man, so you already know that there will be some super fun, and sexy interactions coming up. However, there's more to it, as things are happening in the guise of twists which add a mysterious kick to it, and I was delighted. And that's all that I wrote, so hit that one click button to experience all of this goodness for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Being betrayed by her fiancé not only ended her relationship but it ended her job as well. Needing to regroup her best friend’s wedding in Hawaii couldn’t have come at a better time and being distracted by the sexy stranger at the bar is exactly what she needed.
Harley loves his job as a policeman but it can be all encompassing so some sea and sand in Hawaii while attending his best friend’s wedding is the break he needs, especially when he spends a steamy evening with a beautiful woman at the bar.
They never expected to see each other again except he’s the best man and she’s the maid of honor and when the trip ends so does their flirtation but fate has other ideas when circumstances have her relocating to NY and next door to Harley. Let the fun begin!
Harley is the sexy protector and Raylynn is the perfect combination of sweet and sassy. Humor, heat and a little suspense make this an enjoyable story.
I absolutely loved this addition to the 425 Madison series! Love Under Protection has chemistry and romance, but also plenty of conflict and suspense. Trying not to give spoilers, one of the things I loved and that made it so real for me was Harley’s reaction when he sees Raylynn again. It wasn’t this fairy tale romance but real reflection and it took some time for things to get back on track for them. Actually, there were numerous relatable and realistic moments throughout this book that made me enjoy it all the much more.
Harley and Raylynn absolutely sizzle together while also forming a strong friendship. I highly recommend this one to fans of contemporary romance, especially those that love romance with obstacles and suspense. Although I always recommend reading the entire series, this can easily be enjoyed on its own if you are new to 425 Madison.
*Thanks to Forever Write PR for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!
Another perfect book in an amazing series! Still getting to see the other characters from other books makes me smile so much and fall more deeply for this group of friends!!
I wasn’t sure how much of the beach fling I would enjoy but oh my goodness I swooned! So many aspects of Harley you don’t realize until he steps up to the challenge! I think I fell for him faster than most characters. He seems to truly believe his job is to make sure Raylynn is happy and safe. Getting back to real life had me confused on how things would progress but I quickly learned of this talented authors plan. A plan I really believed I knew the ins and outs to the typical love story but holy goodness did that slap come out of no where!
I feel like after I read each couple they are my current favorite and while that may be true this couple is freaking awesome! I wish I had more of them and oh goodness do I hope we see more in other books!!!
I loved the no nonsense flirty ness of Raylynn and Harley; they say what they want, they go after what they want and they get what they want! Harley is a cop, on a vacation in Hawaii - there for a friends wedding; Raylynn has just ‘quit’ her job and has come to Hawaii a couple of days before her friends wedding. The two meet in a bar and a fling ensues, they can’t keep their hands off each other - they decide to go with it, have some fun, then go their separate ways. They do have a lot of fun, the wedding, the reception, out on the town, a food poisoning episode for Raylynn, where Harley is the ultimate caregiver - unexpected feelings happen. Will Harley go back to New York and Raylynn to Georgia, without looking back? Without regrets? What happens when they get home that drives them back together....... what a great read!!!
I voluntarily review an ARC. This is the fifteenth part of the 425 Madison avenue series. The books are standalones, but to enjoy meeting old acquaintances you should read them in order. You'll probably binge-read them anyway. I love this whole series. This book wasn't an exemption. It's a great romance with a good writing style, reliable good and bad characters, badmouthing, very good friends, learning to trust and to love, misunderstandings and the futile attempt to keep it in the friend zone. When two stressed people try to have just one hot night to forget real life problems, both think to never meet again. Imagine their surprise to be maid of honour and best man at the same wedding... It was great to meet again the protagonists of #6 Love Under Construction. I'm really looking forward to reading the next part of the series.
This fling romance is an amazing addition to this series! AND...it even begins at a destination wedding in sunny Hawaii. A quick break from fast paced NYC was a great way to keep the pages turning for me! Raylynn is the maid of honor and best friend of the bride, while Harley is the HOT cop best man and best friend of the groom. Both arrive in Hawaii a few days early to escape real life in hopes of having some no strings attached fun!! Aubree Valentine has done an awesome job weaving this new tale with some beloved characters from the first season of 425 Madison series. The story is entertaining, sweet, and angsty. I loved the push and pull of 'trying to keep it in the friend zone' even though I couldn't wait for the inevitable outcome. Harley is SWOON-WORTHY and you can't help but root for Raylynn to overcome the shitty hand she's been dealt.
Nothing to lose for Harley and Raylynn as they hook up in Hawaii not realizing that they were both in Hawaii for the same reason. A one-night stand turns into more as feelings develop, attraction grows, and their hearts open.
Harley is a tough as nails cop not looking for love or a relationship. He lives at 425 Madison, of course, and when relocation forces Raylynn to move in across the hall there was no way to avoid seeing her. They try to stay away, they try to fight their feelings, and they try to keep their relationship easy with no strings.
Love Under Protection is a sweet, sexy, and fun story. The friendships are real, and the feelings are realistic. I love this series and the fact that each book is a standalone book, the location is the common thread but the stories are all entirely their own.
It’s two nights before Liv and Jamison’s wedding and the best man and maid of honour meet and end up spending the night together, not knowing who the other one is, until the rehearsal meal!
Raylynn and Harley know this is just a fling, and they enjoy themselves and each other until they say goodbye at the airport!
A month passes and things are not looking good for Raylynn, her ex fiancé who also happens to be her now ex boss is making her life hell, so she takes up Liv’s offer and moves to New York, to 425 Madison, with Liv and her new husband!
Raylynn and Harley meet up again and although they say just friends the secret forces that are at 425 have other ideas!
A great book with a HEA, although there are a few spanner’s thrown in the works along the way.
High protection Very good story, very romantic, simple, hot with characters who seem tender, but Harley's character can become harder when it comes to protecting those he loves. The story seems rather sweet in terms of protection, but it goes up in degrees advancing towards the end with a few twists. Raylynn meets Harley, thinking it would be a one night stand, and she discovers that he is the best man of the marriage of their best friends. Their relationship is complicated by the trust they do not yet have in each other and the desire to protect the other or to protect themselves. When Raylynn returns home, she discovers that she has to leave her city and finds herself with her friends, who are Harley's neighbors. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Love Under Protection is the 15th book in the 425 Madison Avenue series. This is also the follow-up to Love Under Construction (book 6). While not my favorite of the series, I did enjoy this one. I liked it a lot more than the other Love Under Construction, mainly because I liked the characters more. I thought Raylynn and Harley were a good couple. I enjoyed the second half of the story more than the first half when they were in Hawaii. It showed them more in a realistic setting and allowed them to become friends before lovers again. The main thing the story suffered from was length. I would have liked it to be longer because there were some parts that would have benefited from being more fleshed out. Despite that, I would recommend this one.
Raylynn and Harley's story was a fun island romance, at least it should have been. When they met things were hot and fun, lighthearted. Exactly what they both needed with a bit of comedy and drama thrown in that they're in town for the same reason. It was more than just a nice meet-cute but that's what it was.
Back in their real lives things felt a little too "huh?" for me. There were things that had no context but proved to be enough drama that it should have been mentioned. It didn't fully take away from the story but it was a significant change in tone from the first part of their love story.
Love Under Protection is another installment of the 425 Madison Avenue series but you can read it on its own without feeling left out.
Love Under ProtectionLove Under Protection is another great addition to the 425 Madison series. So far this is only the 2nd book I have read by this author, the first being Love Under Construction but I look to remedy that soon. I would like to note this story stands perfectly fine on its own and while characters from the aforementioned story do make an appearance, you will follow along just fine even if you haven't read it.
The connection between Harley and Raylynn sizzled right from the start. A touch of drama and dash of suspense added to the mix makes for an excellent story that has found its way onto my favorites list.
I think this book had to be my favorite in the 295 Madison series if not then one of the top three. I enjoyed the dynamic between Harley, this tough cop and his soft spot for Raylynn. From the moment they meet, although they were just meeting a need for themselves, their mutual attraction was obvious. Their dynamic certainly increased through out the story. I enjoyed the dialogue, which was fun and snappy, with a few comebacks that made me chuckle. This was full of drama, and tension, agnst on Raylynn's part, and great romance and steam plus her hero saves the day type of drama. A really great read! This was an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review of this great book.

After losing her fiance and her job, Raylynn decides to ‘get her groove back’ at her best friend’s wedding in Hawaii. Arriving a couple days early, she decides to go out and find a one night stand. Little does she know her ONS is the best man in the wedding, also there early to take a break from his job as a NYPD officer.
This was an enjoyable book. Raylynn and Harley are both relatable, fun characters and I liked them together. It was also fun catching up with Liv and Jameson, the couple getting married, from season 1 of 425 Madison. A lot happens in this book, but not ‘Too Much.” There’s just the right amount of action, humor, heart, and steam.
