this is the first book I've read by this author and wow. Extreme horror is a saturated genre with a lot of stuff that isn't very good. Allisha's book is brutal and relentless. I could only read a few pages at a time as the violence was non-stop. There were also a lot of twists in the story that kept you guessing as to who was who and what was going on. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Here’s an extreme horror story for you, it’s populated by evil, twisted, abusive people.
The protagonist is put through, physical, mental and emotional Hell, from the opening pages.
Every time you think what happens to him couldn’t get any worse, the author tops it.
I really enjoyed the suddenly shifting viewpoints and situations. I’m loathe to give anything away because so many gruesome and cool things happen that you HAVE to keep reading to see what he endures. Ultimately it’s a story about abuse and the lengths some must go to to survive.
There are no limits, and I found it to be a great extreme survival story.
I can not recommend it any more enthusiastically, I’ve read all her works and this book is proof of her growing talent and crafting a page turner and stomach churner.

Enticing from the first page.

I loved this book. It was a fantastic read it had you gripped fro. The very start and just kept getting better and better. It was non stop action never a dull moment through the entire book. You were captivated from the start. And the ending i was completely shocked I wasn't expecting it at all. Plenty of gore and extreme gore and horror which I loved and an amazing storyline. I'd definitely recommend you give it a try.

I've been a fan of McAdoo for some time after reading many of her short deprived stories over the years. When I heard there was a novel out I picked up a copy straight away. The author has a way with words and extreme horror suits the descriptive style she has. This book was extreme gore from start to finish. If you love extreme, you should love this. The ending was weird but in a good way.

McAdoo hits it out of the park with Mr. Nice Guy. Sick, twisted and depraved humans are a VERY common occurrence in extreme horror. NEVER has an author taken that sick individual and done a better job of showing us thier humanity. Nature vs nurture at it's finest. Every sick person alive, be them on the bus next to you, in the office next door or in your kids PTA has a story. The "how" and "why" surrounding thier twisted nature.

Allisha does such a good job with this, many times in the book I almost forgot who the true villain was. Mr. Nice Guy was such a fun read. It seems sometimes authors of extreme horror are just going for the shock factor, McAdoo shows us that all evil started somewhere.

Only made it through 75% of the book

I almost quickly dnfed this book, but I had already dnf two books this week (c'mon indie authors, step up your game). I forced myself to trudge thru this story, and still couldn't finish it. I love extreme horror. The bloodier the better. The writing was weird. I get it, we were reading a prison inmate's journal, so sure there was poor spacing, and run on sentences. Lots of misspells. Still, I tried to read the story. The story itself was too farfetched for my tastes. Spoiler warning, an abused kid kills his abusive stepdad. Then he runs away and starts running drugs. Just coincidentally, he's working for his stepdad's brothers. I found the book humorous. When it switched to another person's journal from the 1800 s, I put it down. I quit 75% in. Maybe there are people who can finish this story, I just couldn't. It just wasn't for me. I don't want to discourage others from reading this book. Maybe you would like it. It just wasn't my style of extreme horror. It was free tho. So I can't complain

Edit to review.... I added a star. I was convinced to finish this book. The ending made it make sense. I did love the gore. It was still not fun reading an unedited journal, but the story was good.

A fantastic, sick, twisted, and brutal tale. It's populated with some of the most depraved and insane characters that love to inflict the worst kinds of pain they can think up. Each act of torture gets worse the further you progress, and it makes you want to both look away and read on at the same time. I runs at a breakneck pace to an ending that flips everything before on its head. A must read for sure.

Twisted tale with the most revolting of characters. Readers may cringe at the extreme gore, but it all comes together in the end.

Well written which makes all the violence so much harder to read with the vivid detail the author uses.
