My proper southern belle mama might disagree, but I say I was born to be a rebel. From the second I got my hands on a pair of drumsticks, my future was sealed. I never fit in anyway, not with my rocker soul and curves that never take a day off.

But what’s a drummer without a band? Oh, that’s right. A cocktail waitress.

That is, until the chance of a lifetime falls into my la

To all the girls who feel they aren't enough because they aren't a size 6! You are, and you can be a ROCK GODDESS! Maeve proves in spades that not only can she rock it on the drums, but she can fight through the pervasive bull hockey that permeates our society with what is considered beauty. I truly appreciated the way all through the book when a fan or reporter called Maeve "drummer girl," she corrected them by referring to herself as "drummer." Girls can and do shred on the drums. Thank you, J ...more

A bad ass drummer and she's also a woman? Yes please! Throw in a main character that is fat and I'm sold! So many romance books are about "perfect" girls and it is nice to see yourself in a book (not that I am a bad ass drummer haha.) But yes I think that is great of course. In addition, I really love rockstar romance books anyway!

I really like this book! I thought it was a relief to read about a girl like me, one who was not very slim with curves in all the right places… ..but just someone who

After the grit and anger of the Blue is the Color men and the angst of Tali’s story, I wasn’t sure where this author would head for her next series. As it turns out, she didn’t go far from some of the minor characters we’ve come to know and love from her other books. We’re finally getting closer to Mo, folks! This time, we meet his band and get to know Santiago and Maeve.

Maeve and Santiago have a bitter, painful past. They were a love that almost was, until Santi broke Maeve’s heart (and a larg

This is a new author for me, and I’ve toyed around with reading this book several times. I finally gave in even though I’m not a second chance love fan. The story was ok, and there were some swoon-worthy paragraphs here and there. I guess my problem is that the backstory just didn’t sit well with me and made everything seem insincere. The two main characters supposedly fell for each other over the summer the met. She confessed to being in love with him and wanting to be with him. He crushes h

I need to start with how delighted I am that Julia Wolf is treating us to a new rockstar series!! Her Blue Is The Color series ranks high on my list of favorite series. After reading Unrequited, I see some stiff competition for the Blue Boys.

I absolutely loved this book! Maeve is every woman who's ever been told she doesn't fit the mold. She owns her curves and sways those hips to the beat of her own drum. When she's on stage, those drums get louder. This southern peach rocks with the best of th

**** The review I posted on 2/22/2020, right after finishing this book is getting a little tweak! Here's it is, with a few minor changes. Unrequited is heading your way on 3/12/20, tomorrow!!!! Get ready to be wowed!

Rocked again! 🥁

If you love opening up a brand new book by the talented author Julia Wolf, then your lucky day is coming! This new rockstar romance series has roots in her Blue is the Color world and if you've had the pleasure of reading them, then you must remember the devilishly fli

4.5 stars. No one writes a rockstar romance quite like Julia Wolf and you will definitely not be disappointed with Unrequited! If you have previously read books by this author, then you may be familiar with the rock band Unrequited. If this is your first rocker romance by her, then you are in for a treat! Wonderfully written, Unrequited is crafted in such a way that you cannot help but be fully immersed in the characters’ journey and fall in love with Maeve and Santiago. Just when I think I couldn't love this author even more, she goes and writes a book that resonates so deeply within my soul. This is so much more than a rockstar romance: it's about self love, that beauty is more than what society tells us it is, the power of family, and that true love will prevail through everything.

Mauve is a curvy, plus sized woman who is someone I immediately need to become best friends with. She is beautiful and desirable, and she knows this.. She knows that her body type

So far Julia Wolf has hit me in all the feels with all of her books. Unrequited was no exception! These characters are far from perfect and own that in every aspect of their life. This is a second chance romance I didn't knew I needed and I'll definitely think about frequently.

Our main character Maeve has definitely become a favorite of mine. Maeve isn't your perfect girl. She has curves and owns them. Of course she has her insecurities at times, but Maeve won't let anyone treat her badly or wit

I received an ARC from the author and I am happy to give my honest review.

Ugh. This book gave me a hangover. Where else can I find another Maeve? She is tough, positive, a rebel, confident, and everything I want to be. She owns her life and does what she wants, regardless of what her family or friends think she should do. I want to be friends with Maeve.

When Maeve was 18, she met Santiago through her friend's brother. They were starting to get serious about their band and she snuck in to practic

As a curvy girl with self image issues, I relate to Maeve on an almost embarrassing level. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, it's my first experience with the author but I was sucked in from the get-go. Julia writes so well, her descriptions are so clear, so vivid that I feel like if I close my eyes I can smell what the characters smell. Her characters are funny, relatable and real, I wanted to hang with these people.

I request, nay, demand more. I'd like to know how the reunion with

I had to drag myself to the finish line on this one. I think the book had good bones, I've just read much better rockstar romances. I loved that the hero and the heroine were both rockstars. The curvy heroine/female drummer rep was awesome Plus Santiago is a really hot hero name and I like the cover. But I couldn't invest myself in the story or the relationship between the main characters. The secondary characters took away from the main plot. The other two band members both had

Julia has done it again! Maeve and Santiago’s story is a slow burn romance that captivates you from the very start. What I loved was that Maeve was a female drummer and not a size zero! She owned the way she looked! Maeve was rejected by Santi 5 years before the story is set. He rejected her due to her age and the fact that he thought he was a bad person. He thought he was setting her free when she wanted to basically go where he went. Santi had a hard upbringing but the band Unrequited was the ...more

Before I starting reading Unrequited, I wondered how easy it would be to adjust to a new rockstar book. I mean, Blue Is The Color set a certain standard for me. But it did not take any longer than the first page for me to be hooked on Maeve and Santiago's story. It held my attention from beginning to end. Maeve's character was epic and I will not forget her anytime soon. Now for Santi... I wanted to punch him in the face and them love him forever. I understood his intentions from the beginning b ...more

If you are a fan of the Blue is the Color Series or just a fan of Julia Wolf, this is a must read. Even if you haven't read any of Ms. Wolf's previous works but like rock star stories, this is a must read. Ms. Wolf creates wonderful characters. You will fall in love not just with the main characters Santiago "Santi" and Maeve but also most of the secondary characters as well, leaving you waiting for their stories.

Maeve is a strong Southern belle with dreams of making it big as a drummer in a rock band. Until then, she's a cocktail waitress having to deal with men putting their hands all over her and trying to earn enough in tips to live. Then her friend from their teenage years, Yael, walks into her bar, and Maeve is transported back to her first big heartbreak - Santiago and the time he rejected her and ripped her heart out as he said he she wasn't his type. Ouch.

I have just finished reading the ARC for Unrequited and the first thing I need to say is – one click it and buy it now!!

If you have read any of the Blue is the Color series and enjoyed them, then you will absolutely love Unrequited. This is the start of a new ‘band’ series by Julia Wolf and has some familiar faces from the Blue is the Color books – lead singer Mo and his bandmates. Saying this, based on this first novel, I believe this series will stand on its own and you do not need to read any

Julia Wolf’s words are always as poetic and beautiful as the music her characters preform. Unrequited is a slow burn with romance of epic proportions. Full of extremely lovable characters, rock and roll, and a whole lot of sweet to go with a dash of angst, this book has the ability to steal anyone’s heart from “romance junkie” all the way to “never picked up a kissing book in my life”. This is just one of those stories that will resonate with countless people.

Have you ever read a story that the beat of their hearts becomes a rhythm in your head and in your soul, well this story is one of those. Unrequited is a story in some ways that is about second chances and finally putting yourself first. Santi and Maeve have history and they both carry the scars of their past. Words spoken, meanings misconstrued, hearts broken all in the name of love. Their story was like a dormant love just waiting for the right light to have it finally bloom into something so ...more

Julia Wolf is a new author to me and I am so glad I found her with Unrequited! This is a well written story about redemption, being true to yourself, and fighting for what (or who) you love.

Maeve is a great leading lady. At 23 she knows who she is and what her goals are. She's been knocked down, but never out. Reconnecting with old friends and an old crush changes the course of her life and it was awesome to see her embrace the chance and run with it. I enjoyed seeing her being brave enough to

This heart-breaking romance encompassing unrequited love, rejection, second chances, and gritty rocks stars, takes one on a painful ride to hope and healing. Maeve fell hard for the older Santiago when she was eighteen. I’m so happy about this story giving us a badass drummer rockstar. Maeve is both beautiful, fierce, funny and inspiring but she’s also scarred by experience. It’s not preventing her from living her life to the max, even risking her heart once again. Even though trust doesn’t come easy. She’s a wonderful friend and I love the way the girls are supporting each other.

Santi has his own history being an older brother, protective of his little brother. He deserves every bad curse word the girls call
