To all the girls who feel they aren't enough because they aren't a size 6! You are, and you can be a ROCK GODDESS! Maeve proves in spades that not only can she rock it on the drums, but she can fight through the pervasive bull hockey that permeates our society with what is considered beauty. I truly appreciated the way all through the book when a fan or reporter called Maeve "drummer girl," she corrected them by referring to herself as "drummer." Girls can and do shred on the drums. A bad ass drummer and she's also a woman? Yes please! Throw in a main character that is fat and I'm sold! So many romance books are about "perfect" girls and it is nice to see yourself in a book (not that I am a bad ass drummer haha.) But yes I think that is great of course. In addition, I really love rockstar romance books anyway!

After the grit and anger of the Blue is the Color men and the angst of Tali’s story, I wasn’t sure where this author would head for her next series. This is a new author for me, and I’ve toyed around with reading this book several times. I finally gave in even though I’m not a second chance love fan. The story was ok, and there were some swoon-worthy paragraphs here and there. I guess my problem is that the backstory just didn’t sit well with me and made everything seem insincere. I need to start with how delighted I am that Julia Wolf is treating us to a new rockstar series!! Her Blue Is The Color series ranks high on my list of favorite series. After reading Unrequited, I see some stiff competition for the Blue Boys.

Oh my!! Julia Wolf did it again! I laughed out loud, cried tears of sadness and tears joy. I couldn't get enough of Santiago and Maeve. Just when I think I couldn't love this author even more, she goes and writes a book that resonates so deeply within my soul. So far Julia Wolf has hit me in all the feels with all of her books. Unrequited was no exception! These characters are far from perfect and own that in every aspect of their life. This is a second chance romance I didn't knew I needed and I'll definitely think about frequently.

Ugh. This book gave me a hangover. Where else can I find another Maeve? She is tough, positive, a rebel, confident, and everything I want to be. She owns her life and does what she wants, regardless of what her family or friends think she should do. I want to be friends with Maeve.

As a curvy girl with self image issues, I relate to Maeve on an almost embarrassing level. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, it's my first experience with the author but I was sucked in from the get-go. Julia writes so well, her descriptions are so clear, so vivid that I feel like if I close my eyes I can smell what the characters smell. Her characters are funny, relatable and real, I wanted to hang with these people.

I had to drag myself to the finish line on this one. I think the book had good bones, I've just read much better rockstar romances. I loved that the hero and the heroine were both rockstars. The curvy heroine/female drummer rep was awesome Plus Santiago is a really hot hero name and I like the cover. But I couldn't invest myself in the story or the relationship between the main characters. The secondary characters took away from the main plot. The other two band members both had ...more

Julia has done it again! Maeve and Santiago’s story is a slow burn romance that captivates you from the very start. What I loved was that Maeve was a female drummer and not a size zero! If you are a fan of the Blue is the Color Series or just a fan of Julia Wolf, this is a must read. Even if you haven't read any of Ms. Wolf's previous works but like rock star stories, this is a must read. Ms. Wolf creates wonderful characters. You will fall in love not just with the main characters Santiago "Santi" and Maeve but also most of the secondary characters as well, leaving you waiting for their stories.

Julia Wolf’s words are always as poetic and beautiful as the music her characters preform. Unrequited is a slow burn with romance of epic proportions. Full of extremely lovable characters, rock and roll, and a whole lot of sweet to go with a dash of angst, this book has the ability to steal anyone’s heart from “romance junkie” all the way to “never picked up a kissing book in my life”. I’m so happy about this story giving us a badass drummer rockstar. Maeve is both beautiful, fierce, funny and inspiring but she’s also scarred by experience. It’s not preventing her from living her life to the max, even risking her heart once again. Even though trust doesn’t come easy.
