In Honesty Counts the lovable Berenstain family is excited to attend the Chapel in the Woods' campout. Soon after they arrive, they enter a canoe race. The cubs experience white water rapids, having to steer around Big Bear Rock, paddling through a swirling whirlpool and Twenty Steps Falls--just to discover that the Too-Tall Gang cheated their way to the win.

With this adventurous story, young readers (4-8 year olds) learn the blessings of being honest.

THE BERENSTAIN BEARS HONESTY COUNTS contains a wonderful lesson about honesty when the cubs go to summer camp. A canoe race is fun and challenging until another teams wins by cheating! Will they get away with it? Valuable lessons included. For preschoolers - eight year olds.

Recommended for bear fans and children.

As always the Berenstain Bears look for the right ways to do things, and honesty, even when there may be a shortcut available, is the focus of this book. I found the vocabulary challenging enough to polish skills, while the story engages the reader. Scripture to back up the moral to ...more

Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents, Stan and Jan, working together to write and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Mike is married to Andrea and they have three children. They live in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks a lot like Bear Country.

Mike's earliest memory is of his parents studio in suburban Philadelphia. He remembers sitting on
