Foolish young lovers sometimes promise no secrets between them. Honestly? At my age, I know I really don’t want the full truth about what he thinks about what I’m wearing- or heaven help, what he’s really thinking about.
These books are great standalones or read as series. And the bears within seem to have more than a few secrets they really should share with their women.
Steamy, sexy, action and full of flaws that are much easier and more fun to find endearing in a sexy shifter you’re reading about than the dude standing next to you.
The cool thing is, the faults are real enough to make them relatable- and yet the shifter part is funny and sexy.
A great KU combo of fantasy and real enough to make you hmmm and awww at sweet parts.

My opinion
Although I liked the characters, there were so many typos and grammatical errors that they really detracted from the storylines. In the first one, the constant repetition of the names Lisa and Darren got annoying. In the final story of Even and Vicky, I felt cheated by the fact that Vicky's parents were brought in at the end, but their abilities were just barely touched on And then in the extended epilogue it was if they never came back at all.

Got to 17% of the trilogy, reading the first book. I found the proofreading and editing to be substandard. Dialog was stiff. Conversation settings were contrived and unlikely.

This is a box set containing three of the stories in the Hoopole Bears series. If you want to read the first story in the series and find out how the alpha met his mate, be sure to join the author's newsletter. Here are my reviews for each book in this collection:
Bear's Temptation - This is the second book in the series and it takes you back to the same town where things may be calm right now, but with a feisty new reporter and some new shifters in town things won't stay that way for long. Darren may be rough, gruff, and cold, but it's all a facade he uses to protect himself from the horrors of his past. When Lisa, the new reporter in town, is sent to interview him, the two clash, but they have a strong attraction for each other. Darren finds himself unable to stop thinking about Lisa, somehow she's gotten under his skin, and when on patrol one night, he appears just in time to save her. Lisa's world is rocked when she discovers that shifters are real. This could be her big break, but she can't bring herself to hurt Darren. Despite her boss forcing her to write certain stories, things are going well for Lisa and Darren, until they realize she's only a pawn in a much bigger scheme to get back at Darren. Danger and desire fill this story as Darren and Lisa fight for their lives and their love realizing just in the nick of time the strength they get from each other.

His past has shaped him greatly, and he uses happiness as a cover for his emotional scars. Nikki returns home at her parents' request, but finds herself unhappy and frustrated with her only escape being her job at the bar. When the two meet, they recognize kindred souls and quickly form a friendship that slowly becomes more. But while they grow closer, there is an evil shifter with a revenge plot stirring up trouble that could mean death for both of them. Will they learn to trust each other with not only their hearts but their deepest secrets as well? Will their bond be enough to survive the danger out to get them? Action, emotion, and surprises will keep your attention in this book as the story unfolds and hints at exciting things to come in the series.
The Silver Bear's Mate - Sven has been the quiet one always with a book in hand up til now, and we finally get some answers about this mysterious bear. Only fitting that he is drawn to Vicki, who just happens to work at the library and is a big believer of all things paranormal and occult. When Sven seeks answers for his feeling that bad things are headed the clan's way, the two cross paths and form an unlikely friendship that slowly develops into more. And to both their surprise, they have met once before, and that encounter will shape their future. Lots of twists and surprises as the bad guys are revealed and plenty of action as it takes the whole clan to put a stop to the bad guys. But just when everyone gets their HEA, it's hinted that an even greater evil is headed their way, setting up future books.
While the story and plot are good, I struggled with reading this one due to the writing. There was lots of repetition with the same thing being said more than once in just a slightly different way causing me to get a bit lost in the conversation. And at times I didn't like the way that the characters were portrayed and didn't feel like it fit in to how the characters were in previous stories. But overall, still a very good story.

Each one is superbly written.
Each plot and story line is thrilling and so engaging.
The characters are relatable and enjoyable to read about.
They are all emotional and very passionate.

When she meets him she is faced with an extremely handsome man but who is antagonistic. As they get to know each other they find there is a pull between them But someone from his past has got him in his sights again.

Bear shifter Billy watches his friends with their mates and is envious which is making him depressed. Then he goes to the bar thinking to spend some time speaking to James the bartender only to find a cute female behind the bar. Nikki had moved back to help with her sick mother and likes bar work so she had got James to hire her. She sees the sexy hunk come in and is intrigued by him and when they get talking finds herself liking him all the more. Billy discovers that talking to Nikki made him feel happy something he rarely felt.

The Librarian Vicky offers to help find books on the topic he is reading about then later she comes and asks him for a date. An entertaining shifter romance about a couple who both feel different and alone.

This is a bear shifter collection with 3 shifters stories. I enjoyed each book. Seems like each shifter had something happen in their past that they didn’t really want to tell the women who showed up in their lives. Enjoyed watching the trust and feelings evolve in each relationship. Only downside was that some of the conversations were long and drawn out with mundane information, so could have left some of that out. But overall, rather enjoyable reads. Thanks to Fay Walsh for sending me this collection.
