A Bexley Squires Mystery #2

The Million Dollar Collar

Rate this book
A missing dog collar, a sorority house, and a kidnapping gone horribly wrong. Papaya Springs has kept Bexley Squires on her toes since her ill-fated return. But when a frantic celebrity from her past comes banging on the door of Stronghold Investigations, Bexley quickly offers her services.

With pressure from her hunky police detective boyfriend to move in, and her father and his trophy wife demanding help, Bexley is sucked down into a quagmire of emotional blackmail and self-doubt. Going from investigative reporter to private dick wasn’t much of a stretch, but going from a self-sufficient woman to playing house and feeling duped pushes Bexley to the snapping point.

With trouble brewing behind the too perfect façade of Kappa Kappa, Bexley uncovers something much more sinister than a simple theft. When her own innocence unexpectedly comes under question, she’ll need her network of friends more than ever.

I devoured this book in two days! Normally I read about a book a week, but this one was so good, I just couldn't put it down. I read book one, The Dead Girl's Stilettos, and loved that one but am always a little leery of new series. I was not disappointed in the least, this one is every bit as good as the second one and once again Quinn kept me guessing until the very end. All the twists and turns that are weaved into this story line will make you question every single person and their possible motives and intentions. Nobody is safe from suspicion. Bexley will find the answers by the end of the book and will leave you wanting yet another mystery for her to unravel.

Bexley is at it again. This time with a group of sorority girls. This is a fast paced story as Bex digs into the investigation of the lost collar and tries to stay out of jail. Her relationship with her boyfriend has also become strained as they both seem to want different things in life. She continues to find herself in tough spots and barely escaping death. The story continues.

I love this series and have been privileged to have been asked by the author to read an advanced copy and post my honest thoughts

This is a great addition to the series. This is a mix of romance, complex relationships and some great humour

Thank you once again to Quinn Avery for providing a digital copy for me to honestly review! When she sent over a physical copy of ‘The Dead Girl’s Stilettos’ I finished the book fairly quick and absolutely loved it.

I truly enjoy reading a book focusing on a strong female lead who isn’t afraid of kicking ass, proving everyone wrong and getting the job done. Because females deserve that kind of praise!

The main character, Bexley, lands herself as a PI after putting some big people behind bars. A lot of people hate her because of it but she also has a loyal fan base.

When a woman from her last big case files a report on her missing dog, a crime was involved. The dog was wearing a million dollar collar with diamonds decorating it.

The story was well thought out and everything tied together so perfectly throughout the book. There wasn’t anything confusing about this well thought out plot. I also gave TDGS a five-star rating because of this.

Throughout the story, the tension and action just kept getting better and better. Before picking up this book, I didn’t think Bexley would endure what she did but she handled it like a boss.

Now, my only problem with Bexley is that she would never drop Grayson. She obviously doesn’t like being treated like a child and having someone watch her every move. She was always complaining to the reader about him but then would go back running to him. Girl, just dump the poor guy and live your life! If you’re not ready to settle down, that’s perfectly okay.

But then a bad boy steps in last minute and well, let’s just say I think we will be seeing more of him in the next book.

Need a Good Mystery Book? This is your read!

I truly was not sure how this book would turn out. With a simple investigation for a dogs collar, it turned into a web of other interesting twists and turns of how Bexley was going to get out of the predicament that she was put into.

At first I thought the two were completely separate but then when I learned they weren’t... mind. Blown.
If you want a little romance with some mystery, grab this second book of the Bexley Squires series! You’ll love it!

The Million Dollar Collar was a fun phenomenal follow up to The Dead Girl’s Stilettos. I adore Bexley Squires. It was great spending more time in her world while solving another mystery. I cannot wait for The Guard’s Last Watch to release on the 21st!!

Fast paced mystery. Bexley is up to her eyeballs in trouble. Including being charged with murder. Will she finally back down against the power elite. Not likely. Looking forward to the next installment of her journey.

Bexley is back and now working as an assistant to a private detective, and a PI in training. A friend from her past returns with a request an asks Bexley to investigate. It's a good continuation to the series

I am loving this new series by Quinn Avery! This is the second book in the Bexley Squires Mystery series and this girl Bexley is definitely keeping readers on their toes!

Finding trouble at every turn, Bexley thrills with her mystery solving skills.

The Million Dollar Collar follows a pricey puppy collar that has been stolen and Bexley has been tasked to find it.

As in The Dead Girl's Stilettos, Bexley continues to dredge up information the town of Papaya Springs wishes would stay hidden. With every new piece of information she finds, trouble and danger come with it, ultimately putting herself in the line of fire.

Not only does she have mysteries to solve, but her new relationship with Grayson has a continual ebb and flow that leaves her confused and unsettled.

Honestly, I am pretty crazy about this series. I love characters that I can follow from book to book and become invested in them. This group of characters has really struck a chord with me and in The Million Dollar Collar a new character is introduced. I believe we will see more of said person going forward and that makes me deliriously happy!

This is a stand a lone novel. Each story line is different and doesn't carry through to the next. I would say though that the relationships evolve, so personally I would start with The Dead Girl's Stilettos if you haven't read it already!

Be prepared to put Quinn Avery on your one click list! This promises to be a wild ride!

5 stars all the way!

Oh yes, Quinn Avery brings our main woman sleuth Bexley back to solve the unsolvable. This time we go into the land of sorority girls... oh yeah, can you imagine how easy that was to get strait honest answers! Correct, it wasn't.

I feel like this story had a bit more twists and surprises than the previous book. I enjoyed the previous book, The Dead Girl's Stilettos, a lot but I feel like we didn't have to waste as much time developing Bex. I loved that we get a bit into Bex's love life with Grayson and the ups and down of that. Bex can't seem to keep herself out of danger. Miss Quinn is amazing at keeping me guessing and wondering Round in her twists. I can't wait to see where Bex continues to take us in the next book!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

The second book in the Bexley Squires series does not disappoint! It is a quick read and it has great characters and twists and turns that will keep you guessing the whole time. Temperance Rose's dog is kidnapped, and when the dog is returned, her million dollar collar is missing. So, she hires Bexley to find the collar and the thief. But, as Bexley digs deep into her investigation, she finds much more dangerous secrets lurking below the surface. Bexley is gritty and funny someone I cannot wait to read more about.

I would give it more than 5 stars! This book is just as great as the first Becky Squires book. Can’t wait for the next book. Hope it’s soon!
