Pageant of Seasons: A Collection of American Haiku

Rate this book
This is a collection of haiku written by an American. A Japanese form of poetry, haiku has lent itself beautifully to descriptions of the author's California surroundings. She has used a language that is all American in association, but very much enriched by her love for things Japanese. "Pageant of Seasons" offers many lyrical haiku, some of which are centered around the Pacific Ocean. Other haiku show nature in all its facets of growing. These poems create a kaleidoscope of charming images and experiences to which each of us will attach his own meanings.

📚 review:
Such a beautiful haiku collection!!!!! Beautiful vivid imagery, sensory details, and clever plays on words. Just so peaceful to read. Broken into 4 sections by season (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and helped me develop greater appreciation for the beauty of different seasons. Definitely made my day so much more peaceful as I read it, it felt like meditation. Loved it!
