Um, I think I read a different book than the rest of the people here, so you might not wanna take me into account when you decide whether to read this or not.
This story had so much potential but it was so damn short and everything happened within a blink that there wasn't any time for any character development or relationship building, resulting in me not connecting with the characters or feeling their attraction. And the sex scenes were the closest thing to fade to black without actually fading to black. Again, it might just be me, but I love my romance with raunchy details.
I honestly don't know what else to say because it really felt like a blink and you miss it story.

On Mia's first day of her new job, she saves a life. Good right? But while in the process of saving her patient, she irritates her new boss, the delicious but grumpy Dr. Sebastian Ryker. I loved this story from the moment I began reading. There’s a spark to the author’s voice that I felt in the prose and it pulled at me. I don’t know how to explain it (obviously) but it was more than just the storyline that captivated me, it was the way it was told. I liked Mia and Sebastian both instantly and I knew that once they let their barriers down their chemistry would explode! And it did!! LOL Touching story full of great banter and passion all wrapped up in a huge dose of heart! My first read by this author and I’m looking forward to more!

This book as all the feels! The passion, fire, heartache, loss, forgiveness and so much more!

Egotistical Jerk by A.K. MacBride is part of the Cocky Hero Club world. Each story can be read as a stand-alone and read in any order.
I loved this story. It was fun to read, hard to put down and a great way to spend a Sunday.
The characters in this story were both excellent. Mia was everything I would expect in a "red head." She is fiery, fierce, believes in her own abilities and is not afraid to let you know it, experience it and love it. She did not allow anyone, including her idol dull her shine.
Sebastián is that Cocky, brooding, badboy we all love. He is a leading expert in his field and everyone knows it. His people skills are less than stellar, but the man knows his stuff. When newby Mia turns his life around, he doesn't know how to get a handle around it.
I loved this book. The banter between the characters was hilarious and she definitely kept Sebastián on his toes. I loved Mia's self assured nature and her propensity to love, no matter what.

I loved this book!! It had all the feels, and I loved Mia and Sebastian!! Mia is a new doctor working under her hero Dr. Sebastian Ryker. Their first meeting doesn't go well and she thinks he's the biggest jerk walking, Sebastian is laser focused on his career....then Dr. Mia Phillips rocks his world...literally!!He doesn't know how to handle what he's feeling, and doesn't really know what he's feeling, he does realize that he's being an ass around her but doesn't know how to stop...he's afraid of what he feels, but he can't seem to stay away from her either. The chemistry between them is off the charts and everyone can see it. Will they give in to their attraction for each other...could it turn into more? You'll just have to read this amazing story from A.K. MacBride!! I was so sad when the book ended, I wanted more!!!

Warning - have a tissue at the ready. This is the first time reading a book by this author.
This book has banter, loss, forgiveness, friendship, family and love.
Dr Mia Phillips has spunk. I love how she can challenge / hold her own against her idol Dr Sebastian Ryker.
Like I said have a tissue handy when you read this five star book.

This story was unputdownable, completed it in 4hrs!
I read it due to its Connection with Simon & Bridget (Loved seeing them here! So sweet.) AND I totally fell in love with Seb & Mia! They were Funny, intense, Quirky, passionate &, their banters were hilarious❤.

#My 1st book by MacBride and I'm definitely going for more!
Dr. Mia Phillips is the new Intern and Dr. Sebastian Ryker is her boss. From the blurb, it's evident that their 1st impression wasn't great.
What she did was good. I was proud of her, so was Seb but he won't admit it. She just got under his skin like no other.
Forbidden Attraction? ☑
Intense reaction? ☑
Both had a fiery determination for Diagnostics, but it didn't lessen their Banters. More like Growed.
The fighting was an outlet for their Pent-up sexual Frustration! *snicker*
Though, Their surprise meet for Dinner at Simon+Bridget's home was the game changer!
They saw eachother's other side, The carefree smiling one.
Soon after their real feelings came tumbling out!
“He yelled. I yelled. We kissed.”
Mia summed it quite well!
He knew one kiss won't be enough, he wanted.. Forever.
Through Dates, Sexy times, Spending time together, keeping their relationship secret (You know, From hospital gossip).. They grow closer.
But Trouble comes.
With Rumors, Job prob Secrecy, & a patient's diagnosis who had come to mean a lot to them.
Cue Tears..*sniff*
When time comes, who'll she choose? Her Job OR Sebastian?
*Chuckle* Isn't it obvious?
“Saying 'I love you' is equivalent to saying that 'I know you're not perfect and that our life might not be sunshine and roses all the time, but there's nowhere else where I'd rather be.' ”
This is so true! I'm happy that even when Tragedy strikes, Seb's there for Mia AND Fought for her. For them. For their Love.
The epilogue was short+Sweet!
P.s. Bridget & Simon are good advice givers AND Great friends to Mia & Seb. Love'em forever❤. All the side-Characters were fun!

I love the books set in this particular setting of the Cocky Hero World. Maybe it because I have soft spot for medical romances and love reading about the in's and out's of this field. So this book instantly peaked my interest when I started and saw Mia Philip make an instance impact on her new workplace when she took command of a situation and rub her boss up the wrong way.
The last thing she wanted as she striving toward her dream and thought Dr Sebastian would be the perfect boss. Both of them have different ways of dealing with the day to day perils of the job and they clash because of this fact. Mia is secretly harbouring hero worship knowing that he is gifted and wants to learn from the best. However attraction gets in the way and Sebastian isn't immune either to the red hair women who rub him the wrong way.
Diagnostic medicine isn't a easy field as you have to diagnosis what can't see. We seen in countless TV scenes and House was a riveting because it focused on this speciality. So with that field being chosen, MacBride had me slightly biased for this book before really getting into the heart of the story and discovering Mia and Sebastian who both genuinely enjoyed their job but get caught up the political work games that threaten everything. With a good dose of heart , this was a fun book about the jerk who got under Mia's skin and made her changed her life forever.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and as soon as I started reading I absolutely couldn't put it down. This is a fantastic addition to the cocky hero world and I highly recommend it. This is a must read book and the story of two doctors that are as stubborn as each other but also have an enormous amount of passion and there journey is a must see. Welcome Dr Sebastian Ryker and Dr Mia Phillips.
Dr Sebastian Ryker is one of the best doctors in his field and Mia was happy to be working with him. He is very hot and as this is a teaching hospital can also normally read the people working with him, that is until Mia comes along and makes him see everything different.
Dr Mia Phillips is just about to start at the hospital as a diagnostics and she is really looking forward to it. Her day really does start right of on a high after helping save a patient, she didn't even think it came completely natural to her. She is very feisty and confident and knows exactly what she wants in life and that is to always be a doctor and after seeing what Dr Ryker has done she really wanted to work under him.
I really loved how this authors style of writing and how she written her characters and I really connected with them as the reader. I loved Mia and how strong minded she is and at first I did think that Sebastian was a jerk at but he grew on me when we got to know him. They have awesome chemistry and its obvious that they have a connection together, but they are both very strong minded and don't want to jeopardize each other career's. This story will make you feel it all, it has love, loss, heartbreak and hope and you will be really rooting for these two doctors, and this book will make your heart ache at times too. I loved reading about these two and I hope that this author writes about these two in the future. This story flowed beautifully and I totally couldn't put it down and I cant believe that this is the first book that I have read by this author, I will really look forward to more of her work in the future.

Not a long time ago I started reading medical romances and with every book, this trope is becoming my favourite.
Egotistical Jerk is a book about doctors, Sebastian and Mia. Sebastian is Mia's supervisor, and they get off with a quite start. Sebastian is very arrogant towards her, but that's because her persona enchantes him and he knows, he cannot have this feeling. He's rude to her and crticizes her every move in the hospital.
But in no time, this hate changes into something more.
The chemistry between these two is spectacular.
I enjoyed the book, there were lots of funny moments.

Egotistical Jerk is probably one of my favorites in the Cocky Hero World so far. I absolutely devoured this book. A first for me from this author and I need more. This book had all the feels so have some tissues nearby. I loved the banter between Sebastian and Mia and the fact that Mia was not afraid to challenge Sebastian. I'm sure this will be a reread for me in the future. If you are looking for a quick read that you just can't put down, I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed!

This was a sweet but emotional story. I liked the plot and the characters, Sebastian and Mia, who is making him all out of sorts the moment she stepped into the hospital. They have great chemistry and they seemed natural and fit each other, even though their relationship kind of progressed a little fast.
It's my first read by the author and it’s well written. I highly recommend this story.

Oh my this was a wonderful feel good love story. A.K MacBride was a new author to me and I wasn’t sure what to expect but damn this book was so good and I couldn’t put it down. It certainly had all the feels leaving you wanting more of these 2. This book is part of The Cocky Hero Club but can be read as a standalone. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.

I have read more than my fair share of the books that have been released in the huge task also known as the Cocky Hero World, and this is one of my favorites. It is also one that had I just picked up this book without realizing that it was part of this world that I wouldn't have known. Granted I get the side characters that helped create the spinoff but it felt as if it was from its own world and to me that was impressive.
I enjoyed watching Sebastian and Mia as they explored, fought, and accepted this connection between them. There were moments of vulnerability, stubbornness, and insight. I loved seeing how that turned into more as both of these characters went from a life that seemed dominated by a strong work ethic into one where they realized they could depend on each other.

When Mia finds out she’s one of the few selected to work with the infamous Dr. Ryker, she’s nervous but ecstatic. But a bumpy start from their first meeting has her second guessing about her hero. When he’s nothing but cold and harsh to her, she has no choice but to keep her mouth shut to keep her position. She’s determined to prove to the gorgeous but prick of a doctor that she’s the best of the best.
Sebastian can’t get Mia out of his mind, especially since she reminds him of a younger version of himself. Smart & determined, she also has an emotionally big heart that will eventually pull her down. He’s doing her a favor by treating her worse than the others. But soon feelings turn to more & they are now on dangerous territory that can affect both of their jobs.

Mia Phillips is super excited to work for her idol, the brilliant, talented and sexy Dr. Ryker. But the man she idolizes is completely different to the jerk who seems fixated on making her life hell, is he really just an ecological jerk or is it all an act?

I feel like it's probably a lot needy but this Doctor can give it all to me! All of it! Everything! Fine, I will try to put it in English.
Dr. Sebastian Ryker is hot. Super HOT. Magma at the Earth's core hot. He is also a bit...much. I volunteer as tribute to take it all. Seriously, just bump Merida (I mean the sweet likeable and utter doll known as Mia) and I will be sure to take the good Doctor off your hands. (Starts stomping and throwing hands up) FINE. She can have him. (Lots of disgruntled grunting)

Egotistical Jerk takes us back into the world of British Bedmate and has us falling in love with another hot doctor. Sebastian and Mia have a fiery first meeting and get off to a bad start in their working relationship. As feelings swarm between these two snappy remarks, anger and frustration rain down on them as they struggle with what the heart wants. Their story is enchanting, steamy, passionate and at times highly emotional. The chemistry is electric between Mia and Sebastian and can almost be felt radiating from the pages. Two doctors that learn to put their bedside manner to the test when it comes to falling in love. A great addition to the Cocky Hero Club that is endearing and captivating.

This Cocky Hero Club book is by a new to me author, A. K. MacBride. I have never read any of her books and with this series Ivan getting the chance to read a bunch of new to me authors. I enjoyed this medical enemies to lovers romance.
Mia comes to work at the hospital where her mentor and secret crush works. Sebastian is a Diagnostician and has been her inspiration to follow into that field of medicine. He treats her badly right off the bat on her first day and she takes no crap from him. But there is a thin line between hate and love, both very strong emotions.
I really enjoyed the dual POVs so we knew what each MC was thinking and their witty banter tossing was very entertaining. Sebastian had a big heart which he demonstrated with Cheryl, but hid it well. He only showed that side of himself to very few people.
This was a very good book and I read it in one afternoon. Would recommend it for a low angst afternoon read.

Another great addition to CHC Series. I am reading this author first time so I went in blindly in this book. The book was an absolute delight and my favorite from the six books that were released in this round . I really enjoyed the plot and the characters. The story was a complete package it had lots of banter , emotions and a wholesome romance. Dr Mia starts her first day at her job and When she reaches work she save a live of a patient & gets on the bad side of her grumpy boss Dr Sebastian . She doesn't understand why he is after her. Where Dr Sebastian is strict and grumpy , Dr Mia is a breath of fresh air . It was a captivating story and an enjoyable read . I really enjoyed it.

Egotistical Jerk by A.K. MacBride is the story of Dr. Mia Phillips and Dr. Sebastian Ryker. This book is a part of the Cocky Hero Club series but can be read as a standalone book if you wish to do so. Mia is so excited to be working with her ultimate hero, Dr. Ryker but she soon learns that was wasted time because he doesn't act the way she thought he would. But, Sebastian is having unusually feelings toward the new Dr. which is trowing him for a loop. Can these two ever meet on the same page with their feelings? Enjoyed this book.

This was my first book by A.K. MacBride and I LOVED it!!! Who doesn't love a cocky doctor!!! The way these two meet they literally collide and its history from there! They have some intense chemistry together and you can literally feel their connection and how they are meant to be. They each have some challenges they must overcome or battle and it leaves you wondering what is to come. I definitely recommend reading this book if you enjoy cocky doctor type books.

I REALLY enjoyed Egotistical Jerk! This book has the best blend of humor, heart, and incredible steam. The characters were 100% likable, realistic, and down to earth. They might not make the best decisions, but that shows how imperfectly perfect that they were!
All in all, I totally give this 4.5 outta 5 and enjoyed every second of this fairly fast romance set in the medical field. The author did a great job with the story, character development, and secondary characters- totally dug it!

I devoured this book in one day.
The book starts off with Mia starting her first day at work. She ends up saving a mans life right before her shift starts, which in turn pisses off her new boss, Sebastian.
Sebastian is arrogant, rude, but soooo hot. Once you get to know him, he opens up and really shows you his true self. Mia dug under his skin so deep that there was no resisting it for him.
This was such an emotional but sweet book.

Egotistical Jerk is my first read by this author. I know I’m slacking but better late than never.
Mia has always wanted to be a doctor and working under Dr. Sebastian Ryker is like a dream come through. That is until she realised he is nothing like she thought he would be.
This is a brilliant read. It’s well written and I was sad to see it finish.

Wonderful story, great characters.
Another great book within the cocky world!
Mia and Sebastian are perfect for one another. The right combination of fire and ice.
What started off as rocky and not so pleasant interactions turned into hot and amazing interactions.
I loved the way Sebastian interacted with Simon and his family it showed us he had a heart after all and that he was just waiting for the right person to fit into his world.

Sebastian and Mia's story is an enemies to lovers medical romance. I like both Sebastian and Mia but Sebastian isn't egotistical, he is just a jerk. Anyway the story is kind of cute, has less angst and less drama. I give the book 4 stars because at the beginning the author writes it so well I enjoy reading it a lot but after I read it through I think the latter story is too predictable so I feel a bit boring and I hope it has more angst that all.
