And so the latest (not counting the fact that I'm behind on reading this issue) run of Guardians of the Galaxy has come to an end. It was pretty interesting, on the whole. Lots of drama, emotional highs, and action. Okay, there were a few rough patches too, but that's no surprise, giving what they've been building up to here. There were some great highlights in this issue, especially if you pick up on the references to other series (hilarious). M only regret is the lack of confirmation on if certain characters survived, namely my favorite c-list characters that I know got involved in that mess. My assumption is since they didn't graphically die on screen (erm, page), then the odds are good that they're fine.
A beautiful wrap up to Cates' run on Guardians. Featuring splash pages to remember all that has happened in the year, it feels like a door is closing on the Guardians. With a character driven narrative centering on Rocket Raccoon, this was a delight to read.
I've been slowly reading my way through the Marvel Universe, starting in the 1930s. It's issues like this that make it so I can't wait to catch up. Looking forward to getting the full picture.
