This was a short but very steamy story featuring Jade and Garrick. These two have been friends for years but recently both have realized they want to be more than friends but they are afraid of losing what they have if it fails. But then Jade also realizes she needs some kink in her life. Good thing Garrick happens to be part owner of just such a club. Now they just have to admit to each other what they both want. Another enjoyable read by Measha Stone.

Friends to lovers💓
This is my first Measha Stone story. I read this novella because I am planning on reading Until Daddy and I wanted to read this first. I was told I didn't have to so it was my choice.
This is a cute story and I did enjoy it. It's short but gives you a lot of insight to these characters. This is a good start to a series.

A hot, sweet read
This book slots nicely alongside Until Daddy , featuring the same mix of characters but this book focuses on Jade and Garrick. It's a fairly quick read, it took me around an hour. It lacks a little in emotional depth and story development for my tastes BUT that is to be expected in a read this short. It certainly didn't spoil my enjoyment of what is a great little read.
In many ways this is quite light on the BDSM aspect, though it isn't lacking in the heat level. I liked both Garrick and Jade and, whilst she maybe made foolish choices, I could understand her worries and panic. Garrick has been an anchor in her life for so long and the thought of losing him would be worrying.
This, along with Until Daddy , make an wonderful 'duet' to read and I do recommend them.

I enjoyed this short, sweet and very HOT story of two friends that suddenly find themselves in a surprising situation. Jade has kept Garrick firmly in the friendzone thinking he didn't feel the same way she secretly did. Until they bump into each other in a BDSM club. All bets are off when Garrick takes over and shows Jade how he really feels, but Jade is scared and doesn't react exactly like she wanted to and trouble brews after Garrick makes her climax with a full audience. Jade runs and it takes most of the rest of the book to fix what was never really broken. The sex was hot, if a bit uneasy for Jade who has been living a lie since highschool as Garrick's platonic best friend. Loved this book!

Friends to lovers is always a challenge, but add in a D/s dynamic and it can be explosive. This fast read will hold you in its grasp from start to finish. As always, the author creates characters that you fall in love with and want to see overcome the obstacles that come their way. You feel part of the story and are invested in the outcome. Her words weave a web around your imagination that you can’t and don’t want to escape, leaving you gasping for breath at the sizzle and hating that the story will come to an end.

They are both afraid that if it doesn’t workout , they are not able to back to the friend zone. This BFF to D/S relationship makes this a really interesting story and I am looking forward to joint the characters on their journey of discovery

What a fun, quick read that has two long-time friends, Jade and Garrick, finally laying the cards on the table and being honest about their feelings for each other. Until You is a quick novella introducing readers into a new world by Ms. Stone. Jade and Garrick have been best friends since high school, and while both love each other, neither have taken the steps to be something more. That is, until Garrick learns of some of Jade’s hidden desires and he is able to make them happen. Their first time together in the club is strong, passionate, and overwhelming, and Jade has to quickly decide - can Garrick be more than just her best friend, but her boyfriend, and her Dom?
I definitely got sucked into this novella, and I think the biggest reason for me is because everything felt so real and relatable! Jade was going through every emotion, from longing, to lust, to fear, even love and contentment. I can only imagine how overwhelming it would be to have all of your dreams come true, but also to have your reality change as you adjust to your best friend becoming more than just a regular lover. I loved how patient Garrick was with Jade, since she was new to the scene, new to his needs, and new to her own desires. It was fun because there was just enough in the background to know what the next book might be about, but it never distracted the reader from Jade and Garrick. I love Ms. Stone’s writing, I loved this novella, and I really loved Jade and Garrick’s budding romance!

3.5 really but goodreads blah blah blah. This is a super short story about Garrick and Jade. I probably wouldn’t even call it a novella truthfully cause it was just that short. And I know novellas are supposed to be short but I kept feeling like I was missing parts. I thought for a few pages that kindle unlimited had shorted me a book but nope. Just didn’t have it in the book to begin with.
This is a story of best friends who realize that they love each other and they both kinky as fuck. In truth on a scale of 50 Shades to anything by B.B. Hamel, this was a freaking Christian romance though. He spanked her exactly once and she was a freaking brat the majority of the time so I don’t know that this would be considered hardcore. Think of it it as BDSM-lite.
And while I’m complaining slightly, how the fuck you gonna be best friends for YEARS and not know that this man is a Dom? I don’t get that. Did he have a split personality disorder or some shit? Cause I’ve seen some shit in my life but not once have I seen a closeted Dom who could just turn that shit on and off like that, especially not with a woman he was into anyway.
Still it was cute and sweet so I am okay with reading it. Truthfully I’m more ready for the next novella cause I’ve heard the spice level is raised somewhat. Stay tuned for that review!

This book is fast paced, entirely captivating, and one I really enjoyed reading! The characters are realistic with an engaging storyline, and I loved their passion, connection, and even their drama. I felt like I could completely relate to Jade because I feel like I would have a lot of the same reactions that she has to the changing dynamics of their relationship. I loved that she wanted to chase with her heart, but I also loved she had a healthy sense of fear. Garrick, at times, seemed like the typical Dom, confident and dominant with a caring side, and I really enjoyed his vulnerable moments. I liked that he was able to comfort Jade when needed, but was also able to push her. There’s a small bit of drama in this book that helps add to the storyline, but I really think the aspect that shines the most is the connection between Garrick and Jade! Friends since high school, Garrick wants out of the "friend zone" and into a whole other "zone" with jade. Jade knows she has feelings for him but she is really scared of losing her best friend if this doesn't work out. She agrees to try a D/s relationship with him, even though she's terrified. When a misunderstanding threatens the couple, can it be saved? Did Jade over react? Did Garrick not tell her everything out of fear of what she might do? And will he fight to get her back? I'll admit, there were a few times I really wanted to be able to smack Jade because she was so wishy washy. She knows she loves him but she doesn't want to ruin the friendship. It's like she's trying to destroy it on purpose. What happens? Well, you'll just have to get the book to find out! Ms. Stone knows how to hook her readers and reel them into the stories she weaves!!!! Get it and tell me you aren't hooked!!

I’ve long been a fan of Measha Stone, starting with her Ever After series, moving to her pet play series and now on to the Dark Lace series. In this first book, Unzoned, we meet Garrick and Jade, two people who have been friends for many years and who are now facing a more serious lovers’ connection.
Garrick hasn’t been at all pleased to be in the “friend zone” and he is quite happy to assume the dominant role in this new D/s relationship. Jade, however, is a woman beset by fears and doubts. Not about how she feels about Garrick but where all this might lead. It’s a good story, clearly illustrating the choices made in this type of relationship.
Measha is very good at letting her readers into the minds of her characters, who are quite believable and interesting. Any time you buy a Measha Stone book expect a good story. She’s very consistent in this regard.

Jade needed to find a man in her life, had tried dating apps, blind dates, but Garrick always found something wrong with either the site or the man...so Jade and her friend Carissa joined a new BDSM club in town. Garrick called her while they were traveling there, but she lied to him about where they were going. Since he was a part owner in the Club, Dark Lace, he knew they were going to a club event that evening. He met her at the bar...but since both crushed on the other, their relationship was moving from friendship to something else, you will need to read this hot story to see what happens. She has no idea that he was interested in this type of lifestyle but seeing him in this environment brings the feelings she has kept hidden to the surface and has her looking at him as a man not as a friend.
Garrick has wanted to be more than friends with Jade for a long time and when he sees her at the club he knows that being friends will never be enough. He needs to convince her that crossing that line is everything she never expected but all that she could need or want.
Full of emotion and hot chemistry I enjoyed watching Garrick and Jade develop the relationship they were always meant to have.

This is a prequel to what will probably be a really entertaining series about a BDSM club in Chicago. I have read this before in a short story compilation and was surprised that synopsis didn't state that the story had been published before but I really enjoyed it anyway. It was a quick fun read and as a fan of Measha Stone I enjoyed it immensely and look forward to reading the series as it becomes available. This one is about Jade and Garrick who have been best friends for years but both want more from the other. Jade is submissive and Garrick is a Dom and although Garrick knows about Jade, she has no idea. Watch this space. Some spanking, some heat, good start, five stars from me

This is a short story about two people – Jade and Garrett – who have been friends since they were children – and now, as adults successful in their careers, have never gotten beyond the friend stage. Both are also interested in spankings, and a meeting at a BDSM club is the beginning of a change in their relationship. For a short book, Jade and Garrett are well described, intelligent, and the story is interesting. I’d have loved to know more about the development of their relationship but the story was too short to provide that.

The first book in the Black Lace series is Unzoned. It is a BDSM novella and is a friends-to-lovers story. Would you risk a great friendship to pursue your bestie of eight years, and risk ruining your relationship? That's the question Jade wants answered. I love the way Garrick has finally had enough and takes charge, breaking down all the walls Jade tries to put between them-the D/s dynamic seemed to fit naturally in their evolving relationship. Jade wants more, Garrick wants more, so how do best friends let each other know what they want, Garrick owns shares in a BDSM club that made knows nothing about and when he sees something he shouldn't he knows, times up she will be his. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. A good read. Jade is intrigued by the BDSM world. She wants to try it, but where do you start? She absolutely does not want her friend Garrett to find out. It would totally embarrass her. What happens when she runs into Garrick in the one place she never thought she would see him? A short, sweet, funny and sexy novella by Measha Stone. Jade and Garrick have been friends for years. This novella sees them changing from friends to lovers and at the same time engaging into a D/s relationship.
Even though this is a short novella there is still a lot of story in there and the development of their relationship.

A sweet sexy short story that I highly recommend.
I loved this sweet sexy short story. It's very well written and described. All the characters are well done. A very good story about friends moving to lovers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I highly recommend it. Well worth reading.

I read this after Until Daddy as I wanted to know more about Jade and Garrett. Slightly disappointed because this was more of a short story rather than novella so felt could be longer and better characterization and story background. That being said get more in Until Daddy so read that story along with this and you will enjoy.

I am absolutely head over heels for Garrick!!!! Ms. Stone has a way of making me fall in love with every alpha/dominant man she shares with me! I'm just so happy you don't have to be monogamous with book boyfriends! Will Garrick and Jade successfully transition from their friends only to something more? Way more? Will Garrick's business get in the way? Huge Stone Fan!
