Consequences: A Wilders Finale

Rate this book
The exciting conclusion to the captivating Wilders Series. The virus is morphing and moving fast. Wilders aren't following the three rules anymore. Nobody is safe. Running low on supplies while waiting for a response from their plea for help, the camp in the Adirondak forest can't wait any longer. Emerson is selected to lead a supply run on what should be a short trip into town. With the world sliding dangerously close to a full apocalypse, his team will have to make hazardous decisions. Back in the camp, help arrives. But the form it takes is unexpected. Renna doesn't know who to trust. Or how she'll survive. Bold choices always have consequences. Now it's time to face them.

Ah the finale to Cass Kim's Wilder's books - a meaty & satisfying conclusion to this series!
Really loved the pacing throughout, which is especially important for the final book.
I was particularly drawn to and intrigued by the setting and exploration of a 'non-complete destruction' of society - this is far more believable than the utter collapse of all things that readers of Post Apocalyptic fiction nearly come to expect. Humanity would of course adjust, incrementally, and seeing this premise interact with the characters, especially Renna.
Engaging and wonderful conclusion to Wilders! Well done!

Consequences continues the story of the wilder infection from the perspective of the two main characters from the first novel, Renna and Alyssa

As with the first novel, the relationships between the characters was one of the strongest aspects for me. The author does a good job with the dialogue and character interactions, particularly with Alyssa's story, as she spends much of the novel meeting new people, and developing bonds with them.

The story is fast paced and well thought out. I liked the world that was created, and enjoyed seeing what had become of the town. To be honest I think there's the potential for a whole other book from the perspective of the origins of the disease and what happened from a larger scope.

The book was well written and edited, although there were a few awkward sentences which periodically detracted from the reading experience.

I was satisfied with the ending of the novel and felt like the story lines were nicely tied up.

I recommend this book, but you definitely should read Wilders first.

**I received a digital copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.**

I was excited when I received an email from Cass asking me to review this book because I enjoyed the first one. I really enjoyed this finale!
It is a fast-paced, interesting take on the post-apocalyptic world, as I said for the first book.
I, again, really like the relationships between the characters. Cass Kim does a really good job with dialogue and interactions between characters. It always keeps the pace really well.
I also thought the character development was great. Renna is such a good character. I also love Emerson!
The story is just really well written. I was thoroughly happy with the way the story wrapped up. It was nicely done. I definitely recommend this series!
Thanks so much to the author for sending me this book to review!

An Excellent finish to an Excellent series

I'm happy for the characters in the book but sad that the half-pocalypse is over.

Consequences begins with the half-pocalypse tipping into a full-blown disaster. This story follows Renna as she's being used to find a cure to the disease and her friend Alyssa going on a desperate journey to save their friends. The action is fast-paced and the ending unexpected and satisfying.

The three books of this series, The Change, Wilders, and Consequences make up one of my favorite YA trilogies. The author writes lively prose and the pages blur as they go past. I've always been particularly impressed with the depth and nuance of the characters in these books, the depth of the world, and the pace of the story.

Consequences: A Wilders Finale is a great book. I was pulled into the Wilders world when the book was introduced, and I wanted to know more, it was scary exciting and believable. I wanted to know where the virus started, The Change answered many of my questions, but I was still asking for more . What was happening to the character of Wilders , were Renna, Emerson and Alyssa ok? My questions are answered in Consequences. The book is great, the characters are true to their origin. It’s a wonderful read. A great conclusion to the trilogy. I highly recommend it.

So the mystery is solved.

The mystery of the Wilder creation is solved. But not without a battle, and a mutated outbreak. And yet, love wins. Just as it should. Good triumphs over evil.

I really enjoy this series which envisions the outbreak of a zombie-like virus as a "half-pocalypse". Rather than the complete breakdown of society that many zombie/dystopian novels portray, the author has come up with a very plausible vision of how we might make necessary adjustments and carry on, more or less, with our regular lives amidst the controlled chaos. You'll need to read Wilders first to appreciate this sequel that follows the aftermath of the events of that book and builds to an exciting conclusion as Renna and her friends and family race to not only find a vaccine for the deadly plague but also to fight nefarious forces attempting to use the outbreak for their own questionable purposes. Aimed at a YA audience with young protagonists who are asked to step up to tasks and responsibilities well beyond their years, I think fans of thoughtful fantasy/horror will find this a satisfying conclusion to an imaginative series.

Cass Kim’s imaginative tale of the half-pocalypse comes to a satisfying conclusion. Much like the first two books in the series, Consequences is a fast paced YA read that will have you churning through the pages. If you enjoy the post apocalyptic zombie genre, this is a series that will offer you something new while still feeling familiar. I recommend it highly.
