I read an ARC of this, it could definitely be considered more "new adult" (18+ college crowd) than YA, but I think it could be appropriate for mature 16+. I read a similarly themed book that my mom actually got me when I was 16 (Caribbean Cruising by Rachel Hawthorne if you want to look it up) and I had no issues with it. (less)

Who among us hasnt asked our best friend to take our virginity so the cute boy weve been making out with wont run away when he learns were a virgin???

I had the pleasure of reading an early edition of this book and Im so glad that I did! This is one of the best rom-coms that Ive read in a long time. Its funny when it wants to be, cover-your-eyes cringey in the best possible way at times, and really thoughtful about the way we talk about sex/virginity/relationships. This should be required reading

I liked this. But also, it was lowkey questionable?

I read this book in one day. In a couple of hours if I'm honest. I started in the late afternoon and between washing dishes, drying my unmanageable hair, and making diner, I finished at 1am.

I didn't even feel the time flying by. The book is quick and easy to read, with decent writing and likable characters.

And yet, I never felt truly engrossed in the story.

I also had a lot of problems with the way that virginity and sex, in general, are

I read a sneak peek of this on BookishFirst a couple days ago, and it is legitimately all that I can think about now. Every time I pick up another book I stop and think, I wonder what happens with Keely and Co.? Which honestly isnt so bad, because it releases in 3 months! But its also the worst, because I have zero patience skills and now I HAVE TO WAIT 3 MONTHS!!

Anyway. If anyone from Razorbill/Penguin Teen wants to enable an impatient person by giving her an advanced copy for review, then I

This is a funny, cute and really enjoyable book. I loved this book more than a pizza 😃. It is perfect for all YA romance lovers. It is a book we want to read again and again and every time it is as amusing as it was the first time. All the characters are lovable and so relatable. I was a little nostalgic and was remembering my high school days while reading it. We all had such a group of friends and classmates in high school.

This book is about Keely who is a high school student and her best
He cant know youre a virgin because then hell think of you as only a virgin. Suddenly thats what itll be about. Hell just want to take it. Your virginity wont be yours, itll be his. Guys are experts at making everything about them.

The misogyny in this book was huge. Like the whole book was just men and women hating women. And to top it off there was so much slut shaming and bullying. The only reason it got a two star was because the drama was delicious and Danielle was a true villain. She was

Well this turned out to be an adorable, heartwarming story that had me grinning like a fool!! I absolutely loved the mature YA feel and how it addressed sex. I feel like too often YA books shy away from it but I really thought this one did a great job of making it realistic and relatable even at 29!

I went in telling myself I'd just read a couple chapters and the next

What would you get if you mixed SEX AND THE CITY with AMERICAN PIE? This hilarious and cute book.

I've just stayed up half the night to read a book, and even though my eyes feel like they've been rubbed with sandpaper, I don't regret a second of it. THE BEST LAID PLANS made me giggle, grin, blush, and snicker like the awkward teen I used to be. Keely, Andrew and the gang are charming and real, and bursting with hormones and convictions about life, as teens usually are.

Speaking of Andrew . . . I

So, the book isn't TERRIBLE. The writing is competent and overall the characters are likeable. But it's exceedingly generic and honestly unrealistic.
Stories about high schoolers questing to lose their virginity have been around since the early 80's. Granted, the majority of them have concerned boys rather than girls, so at least this one is progressive in that aspect. But it's not a new idea by any stretch. That would be fine if somehow new life was breathed into this old idea, but

Can I just say that this book had me SWOONING! I thought about it for days after and it put me in the absolute best mood! I honestly want to reread it all over again!

Thank you Penguin Teen for sending me this gorgeous copy! When I saw this cover last year I quickly googled the description and knew I would love this story. Its right up my alley, Ive realized that I am more drawn to the more mature YA books, and this one falls into that

For a book thats being promoted as sex positive its a shame there is so much bullying and slut-shaming involved. And the worst part is most of that behavior comes from other girls. Shouldnt we want to see girls supporting each other, not tearing each other down? Also the idea that sex is something you should just do and get it over with is probably not a healthy message. Honestly, the whole book I was surprised because I didnt see hardly anything positive about it.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC of this and totally devoured it!!!

Lund perfectly captures the nonsensical rules and double standards about sex that get perpetuated when you're in high school and drive the main character, Keely, to feel like something is wrong with her for still being a virgin at 18 (spoiler-not-spoiler: nothing is wrong with her!!).

This book has a lot of steamy scenes that were so gripping they would rival some of the best romance writers, yet they still felt

The Best Laid Plans read like the teen romance that it is- with lots of drama and angst. Ms. Lund does a good job capturing a teen's complicated social life. I could easily picture this book being adapted onto the big screen and adored by young audience.

In The Best Laid Plans, the characters conform to certain stereotypes- a good girl who's unsure about who/what she wants, a popular guy best friend who harbours secret feelings for said good girl and a mean girl type friend who's not really a

This book was exactly the book I was looking for, I needed a light hearted book with a ton of heart and that would make me laugh and fall in love with the characters! It definitely brought back memories of high school! Keely is in her senior year of high school shes still a virgin, and when she walks in on one of her friends losing her virginity at her 18th birthday party, she realizes shes now the last person in her group that hasnt lost hers yet. The only problem is that her best friend Andrew ...more

So because The Best Laid Plans is a sneak peek, I need to say what I feel about this book until chapter 6.

The Best Laid Plans turned out to be an adorable story and I really enjoyed reading the sneak peak. The Best laid Plans is full of teenage drama and angst. It's about a bunch of teenagers trying to figure out what they want in life. Especially for Keely. I couldn't talk much about this book since it's only a sneak peek. I will come back to talk more about her.

This book is everything you look for as a teenager and navigating the murky waters of trying to find the best way to loose your virginity. You have a main character who is always in her head and anxious and figuring herself out. You have this bubble you belong to in high school of close friends that know everything about everything, and then you meet someone new whos exciting and not like the friends you know. So you decide to get noticed by them, that youll loose yourself along the way. I lobe ...more

I received a physical ARC of this book as part of the Roaring 20s Debut group ARC tour. My opinion is my own and I am under no obligation to write this review.

I got such modern-day CAN'T HARDLY WAIT vibes from this, which delighted me.

I loved the voice in this book. So, so much. This is the sex-positive rom-com I've been wanting for years, with a perfect YA voice in the main character, Keely Collins. Keely's feeling pretty isolated in her small town because she believes she's the only virgin. So

This was so super cute; a perfect bit of nostalgia for more innocent and naive times with a dose of relief that high school is over and I never have to go back and navigate that land mine riddled territory. I LOVED THIS BOOK! I can be very picky about my romantic comedies and YA coming-of-age novels, but this ranks up there with my all-time favorites. This book had me squealing in delight and spazzing out in glee and embarrassment.

This book captured some of the best and worst parts of high school and life in a small town. All of the characters were so fleshed out, and each one was unique even as they fit the high school stereotypes (popular-mean girl, drama girl, jock-jackass, relatable
