He’s up to something. I know it. No man can be that handsome and mysterious. He’s probably a spy. I can’t say for sure, but I’m going to find out. Watching Heath is easy, but wanting him is the part that’s going to get me into trouble. Lena peeks from her windows and tries to catch me doing something, though I’m not sure what she thinks she’ll see. What sort of an assassin would I be if my sweet neighbor figured me out so easily? Besides, I’m here to watch over her. The only problem is that she’s irresistible and far more alluring than my work. Choosing between them may be the death of me, but Lena is more than worth it. (MINK's note: Snow Angel is an instalove, steamy, and sweet romance with a HEA, perfect for reading with a kitty in your lap and a coffee sitting next to you.)
When Lena inherited her Gran Mildred's house, not only did it offer her a haven from adulting, it allowed her to pour all her nervous energy into stalking her neighbour.
Heath is amused by Lena's antics even though he goes to great lengths at not acknowledging her existence. In his line a work, he doesn't need any distractions or collateral. That was until the awkward shy girl inputs herself into his life.
"Sexy and naïve, she is the combination that will break me. I can already feel it, her loveliness cutting through every layer of ice and rock around my heart."
Even whilst imagining the kind of life Heath could be hiding, it doesn't change the way he makes her feel. Damn the consequences.
"I’m . . . tentatively happy?
I am no longer a stalker.
Now, I am a stage five clinger."
Hitman's Prey just missed the mark for me. Which is unfortunate because its potential was enormous. It had this totally awesome John Wick vibe accompanied by a heroine you can't help but adore. I just think that by being a novella, we didn't get the depth I hoped for. Mink as an author, is talented based on her imagination and types of characters written. I'm hoping for a full length novel down the track and I bet it would definitely deliver!
You know what? These books are really surprising me because they are not my usual cuppa but I'm enjoying them
Yes the h is naive Yes the situations are unrealistic Yes things get a bit OTT Yes the plot probably isn't fleshed out enough
But I enjoyed it nevertheless, it's short, sexy, well written and interesting enough my attention never strayed.....I'm counting it as a win and look forward to more from this author
I’m starting to think that’s the case with many of the books I’ve read by MINK. I’m not saying that 3 stars is a bad rating, but I really want to give her 4-5 stars, but it just isn’t there for me.
The main reason this specific book has 3 stars is because Lena was really freaking annoying. Like beyond annoying. She was made to be portrayed as this 'oopsie' girl, but I just couldn't deal with her and her antics. Idk how hottie Heath was like all over her. Actually, I do, since he's that I-need-total-control alpha male.
Whatever though, they were cute together and regardless of everything, this was a good in-between reads read.
The epilogue/HEA made this feel like it had a bow on the top.
3.5 stars-- OK, so if you can just get on board with how incredibly dark the underlying violence of this story is (it's in the title, so... no surprises, but yeah, there's a lot of hitman murderiness in this one that's a little jarring for a romcom), this is actually a lot of fun & pretty self aware. Will read more from this author
I disliked Lena from the beginning of the book. I just couldn't stand her behavior at all. Why someone will wear killer heels if they aren't even able to take a step? On the other hand, I liked Heath a lot but still it wasn't enough for me and it left me feeling meh when I finished the book.
P.S. l love the shoes on the cover, so they get an extra ⭐.
This is an addictive read, the author has a way with her writing that I can’t get enough of it. It’s a fall down. Hilariously funny read.
Lena may think she’s smart stalking her neighbor, peering out through various windows of her house but what she doesn’t realise is that he’s also watching her and throughly enjoying this game they are playing.
Lenas not big on people or even leaving the house. Her jaunts to the outside world involves working at the local childcare centre where she finds a calmness holding the babies in her care.
Heath though also gives her this calm. She feels safe and protected with him around if only she could figure out who he really is.
Heath is part of the Brotherhood an elite organisation of Hitmen. They kill the scum of the earth. So it’s not like he’s a serial killer. He’s enamoured with his little neighbor who he’s been trusted to watch over.
But what happens when one wants to leave the Brotherhood? A scene straight out of a Hollywood blockbuster that’s what happens.
We met Heath in the last book and now we get his story!!!
Heath is a assassin who has one job looking after his new neighbor Lena and he loves it, shes cute, quirky and alittle shy and spies on him thinking shes a great spy lol when shes not. He loves it but he cant do anything since his job is to dark and he2ro damaged for a cute innocent girl like her. But that doesn't stop him when Lena finally comes over to spy/chat.
Lenaaaaa girl was just a ball of sunshine and has alittle crazy stalking her neighbor lol. Also has a demon cat who doesn't let her touch him now her guy is making himself happy in her home.. but they do have some ups and downs do to Heaths job..
Why lower ratings.. it has some similarities to the first book.. cat, girl with shy/social anxiety.. best friend who gives her advice... wish it was atad different..
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore

A ruthless hitman meets a curious neighbor who loves to spy on him. His interactions with her and her demon cat form the story, lots of meet-cute and angst, lead to a HEA.
I can honestly say that I miss my Alexa Riley duet, however MINK is making my ache less noticeable.
The story was great, writing easy to follow but only three stars as it was way too similar to her first book Show Angel. Literally sometimes I felt like our author just changed the names, placing and time of the year.
I so enjoyed this second story by this author. This one was filled with more suspense and intrigue. Very sweet and steamy. The chemistry and banter between Heath and Lena is off the charts.
Lena has been spying on her neighbor believing there is something suspicious about him. What she doesn't know is that Heath, her neighbor, has been letting her spy. What she doesn't realize is he is a hitman and gets called away for assignments. The time has come though for Heath to make Lena his, will she be ale to accept all of who he is?
This was fun. I liked the concept of this one and though Lena was a hoot. Heath enjoys the cat and mouse game with Lena. A lot of humor in in this one.
I wish it would've been longer because there were tons of places where the story could've been expanded with juicy details (without it seeming like filler) but I'm still pleased as punch that Heath & Lena got their much deserved happily ever after. :)
I will definitely be checking out more books by this author in the near future.
I really liked this one! The characters were just so much fun. Lena charmed the crap outta me and Heath was just one big ball of sexiness. There’s nothing to complain about. The sweet/sexy mix really does it for me
Cute and delicious smut. This kind of story stirs my fantasies.
Tall, dark and mysterious neighbour prompts reclusive Lena out of her shell to find out what his shady business really is about. She has some social anxiety, but what does a girl have to do to stalk a hot man if not break the rules of propriety?
He is a dangerous man, but totally besotted with his adorable little neighbour. I had so much fun with her stalking the big bad boy. She might be naïve, innocent, persistent and over the top, yet he indulges her spying on him while courting her like a gentleman.
I absolutely loved this short story because it has a very sweet couple falling in love while she is stalking him and he is hiding his assassin business.
After a funny and cute courtship, they engage in sweaty and breathless passion. Only then does his business explode in a well-coreographed, Bond-style action scene that is phenomenal and full of adrenaline and some well-warranted disbelief from a former shy girl, now turned fully-fledged woman in love. Friendship, a surprise and a wholly happy life fill the two epilogues, and I am hooked on this author from book one 😄
I think my issue with this book was that I am way too picky with character development. I couldn’t pass h background, being an anxious person myself, having going through therapy, knowing first hand what an anxiety attack looks and feels like it’s utterly annoying and infuriating how it is portrayed here, if you take away that aspect of the h, the story would make a lot more sense that it does with that. But it’s just a big no for me, I feel like it’s being mock out that so not nice.
Now, if you take that completely away, I did enjoy the story, the hitman aspect was really intriguing I would love to know more about the sister and the brotherhood. Also I want to know more about Mildred, she is the one that really intrigues me.
Not as believable as the first book in this series. The h is a walking disaster. I dislike extremely clumsy h’s. Didn’t feel the connection or love that I did in book one of this series. Another cat was involved in this one. Heath was a just okay H and I usually like when they’re hit men or assassin, but he just didn’t do much to perk my interest.
This is a laugh out loud, sexy, sweet story with some wonderful characters. Lena is a quirky, sweet girl who is spying on her neighbor because she's convinced his some sort of hitman or spy. Heath knows that Lena watches him, but he loves it cause she's sweet, sexy and adorably quirky. He plans on making Lena his, but knows he needs to go at her pace. This is an adorably, sexy read and I highly recommend it!
This is my first book by this author and it was tots adorable! Heath and Lena make such an awesome couple. I loved Heath's protective and jealous nature when it came to Lena. Lena is suspecting and stalking Heath at first, because between her and her best friend Kimber, they believed him a spy. Filled with some serious laugh out loud moments and cute clumsy situations made for a great read! Looking forward to the next book! 4 solid stars******
P.S. Kudos on not one, but two wonderful epilogues.
I was so happy to read Heath's story. Is there anything hotter than an assassin? Then there is Lena. Love this girl really hard. Her quirkiness just pulls you in. This is a great couple. Love it when the man will do anything to keep the woman safe. I read an advanced copy of this book.
This was my first Mink book and I have to say, I loved it! I laughed and laughed…and laughed some more. It was sweet, funny, and HOT. Deadly combo. (Wink)
