"So far as the instructional part of the book is concerned, I may say that, while I have had the needs of the novice constantly in mind, and have endeavoured to the best of my ability to put him on the right road to success, I have also presented the full fruits of my experience in regard to the fine points of the game, so that what I have written may be of advantage to improving golfers of all degrees of skill."

Henry William "Harry" Vardon was a professional golfer from the Bailiwick of Jersey. He was a member of the fabled Great Triumvirate of the sport in his day, along with John Henry Taylor and James Braid. Wonderful book. You would never think it was written so long ago.
A must for golfers.

The more things change, the more they stay the same... It is amazing to read about the technical challenges that golfers in 1900 was subjected to, and to realize how much much has changed since then. However, in other repects the hints and tips that Harry Vardon gives is still 100% relevant today.

An interesting book to read if you like golf.
