I am so excited for you guys to read Her Wicked Marquess. Maryann and Nicolas's journey to happy ever after is one of my favorite stories, if not the fave. I loved writing it and I hope you guys feel that love and enjoy it as much as I do.

Nicolas St. Ives, the Marquess of Rothbury, is on a revenge mission, and Maryann Fitzwilliam wants to escape an odious betrothal. When gossip reports that Nicolas was seen climbing out of a window, Maryann starts a rumor that it was hers. Nicholas can't shake his growing interest for the surprisingly spunky Maryann. But, with his investigation and vengeance on the line, what will be more important: the vendetta or the vixen?

Stacy Reid is a favorite author of mine but I'm still unsure on how I feel about Her Wicked Marquess. My attention was not held and the story did not seem to really get going until the 40% mark. I also thought this was an odd follow up to My Darling Duke, it was much darker and didn't seem to quite fit in with what I thought this series would be like.

The heroine was underdeveloped and inconsistent, it made it difficult for me to get connect with her. Maryann fell flat. Nicolas, on the other han

I was borderline obsessed with the previous book in this series and it sort of breaks my heart to rate this one so low.

I love love loved Maryann and Nicolas. She’s feisty and smart and he’s charming and maybe a bit lost. Together they have loads of chemistry, curiosity, and cute moments. There were a good amount of characters here, but everyone stays on the superficial side. I will say I was hoping for a Kitty cameo, but it didn’t happen.

Plot wise, it was good and not so good for me.

Oh my god! That ending!! Tears and smiles.
I don’t know what it was about this book but Reid really touched me with this story. The characters were amazing and the story was so completely unique.

Nicolas was tough and not well-liked. He was on a mission that was ruthless and punishing. He was violent on one hand but with Maryanne, he was tender, sensual, and protective as hell. Heck, I was falling for him myself.

Maryann, while called a wallflower, she was anything but. She was s

HER WICKED MARQUESS is my favorite.

I would give this book 6 stars if I could! I LOVED the chemistry between Nicolas and Maryann. It was so damn hot and also sweet. I love how protective he was of her and the lengths he would go to ensure her safety. That had me swooning all over the place a

This is the second book in the Sinful Wallflowers series and it is another good addition by Stacy Reid. This featured Lady Maryann Fitzwilliam whose family arranged for her to be betrothed to the Earl of Stamford, a sadistic man old enough to be her father. In order to get out of the engagement, Maryann spreads a rumor that the rakish Nicholas Ives, Marquess of Rothbury snuck into her bedroom and "took liberties". Maryann knew it would make her damaged goods and the Earl wouldn't want her with h ...more
Wow! This was a wonderful read!!!

Maryann had me cheering for her within a few pages. For the era, she’s fighting for the chance to be free. Interestingly, she doesn’t desire a career as many historical romance heroines in recent years seem to do. All she wants is a large family within a marital relationship filled with love and that will allow her to be a partner, rather than an object of ownership. She was quite feisty and I loved how she enthralled Nicolas from the beginning due to her quirky

Lady Maryann Fitzwilliam made the mistake of being too free and outspoken with her opinions in her first season and has now been labeled a wallflower. With no offers forthcoming several years later, her parents arrange a match for her with a man the same age as her own father. Maryann is determined to use her wits to escape the match.

When a scandal column chronicles Nicholas St. Ives, the Marquess of Rothbury, climbing out of a debutante's window, Maryann sees an opportunity. She daringly claims

I loved this book. I liked the humor between the two characters. I felt that Nicholas was very comfortable around Maryann. He was charming towards her with wit. His devil may care attitude.
And his insatiable need to get to know her more. I think he was sweeping Maryann off her feet. I like how the two played the cat and mouse game with each other. Maryann new how to stand her ground with Nicholas and Stamford, but not her parents. I enjoyed the romantic entertainment in the book.

While I enjoyed the first in the Sinful Wallflowers series, I am even more surprised by how addictive this second one was. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a slow burn historical romance.

I loved our characters and as the story progresses I enjoyed getting to learn about them individually as well as through their relationship. They really do come off the pages and even when I wasn't reading this book these characters were on my mind. I was immensely invested in the plot and

Her Wicked Marquess was phenomenal! It was exciting to read with all the twists and turns and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved the drama, wit, passion, and intensity!

Maryann and Nicholas were fantastic and unique characters. I loved Maryann so much and how she was going after what she wanted and trying to put herself out there to get the life she deserves. She's bold, bright, and fearless. Nicholas is quite devilish and not at all what he shows the world. He's smart and meth

After one of her fellow wallflowers has married, after having her own scandal in the process, Lady Maryann Fitzwilliam decides it's her time to shine. Nicholas St. Ives, Marquess of Rothbury, is a man on a mission. He plays the feckless rake, making his way into the inner circles of those who raped and caused the death of the girl he once loved so that he can exact his revenge. Nicholas has accounted for every contingency…except Maryann Fitzwilliam. The clever and outspoken wallflower seems to be using his name to start a scandal in order to avoid marriage to a horrible man. From the first Maryann and Ni

Lady Maryann, although considered a wallflower and timid, had hidden depths. She was willing to go to great extremes to escape an unwanted marriage. However, her mother was determined that Maryann should marry. Nicholas, Marquess of Rothbury, was also not what he seemed to be. He too, had hidden depths and didn’t show his true character to society. Nicholas was on a vengeance mission. Maryann and Nicholas gradually got to know each other and their feelings deepened but would Nicholas’s

Ooooo, what a deliciously sinful romance!

If you thought Kitty was brave and daring in My Darling Duke, then you are not prepared for the very mischievous Maryann! The story starts with a delightful meet cute with a dash of revenge fantasy and just keeps getting better and better as the story progresses.

Maryann is determined to avoid a forced marriage to an utterly abhorrent man, and she has no qualms about borrowing the scandalous reputation of a notorious rake. Nicolas, however, has carefully

In an effort to right a wrong, Lady Maryann Fitzwilliam has enlisted her brother Crispin to help her carry out her plan to embarrass her former friend and the reigning belle of the ton, Lady Sophie Wembley. Her plan is simple, she will wait until Sophie comes close to a window in the ballroom and then will have Crispin dump a bucket of grass snakes on her and watch her humiliate herself. But it isn’t Crispin who comes to her aid, a fact she doesn’t learn until after the deed is done. She is horr ...more

Ever since then Nicolas has been hunting these men one by one while at the same time feeling guilt and regret for not being there when his friend was attacked.

One night he crashes into the home of one of the suspects when he meets his sister, Maryann. Maryann is a

I think I’ve found a new favorite historical romance author. This is my second book I’ve read from Stacy Reid and I am most definitely hooked.

Maryann Fitzwilliam is a wallflower that wants an escape; Nicolas St. Ives, Marquess of Rothbury wants revenge. It's this combination of circumstances that initially brings them together, and what a delightful first encounter it is! Their initial meeting is full of fun, and that sets the tone for the entirety of this humorous and often emotional love stor

Wickedly delightful! The playful banter between Miss Maryann and the Marquess of Rothbury is splendid. As the story goes on, the more heated it becomes between them. I love that Maryann has a mind of her own, even though that sort of thinking was not encouraged in that time. The pacing is good. Like a sensual dance and I was engaged the whole way through. The world building was fantastic! I really felt transported to that era. A wonderful escape read!
