I love the Schubert novella series. They're a lovely, gentle read that pick you up when you need a break from everyday life. This time we have the eldest McCreadie brother, Scott who meets Liza in a bar and then tries to rent her dream shop out from under her. They not only end up sharing the space but find other things they share as well (no spoilers because it's a biggie).

Schubert is a cat that gets around. Whether at home with Nessa or inexplicably turning up at the shop he seems to know exa

Here comes Schubert again! Don’t go calling him just a cat, because he is so much more. He is more like a human hiding in a cat’s body. Maybe this time his role is a little smaller, but just as important as usual.

Nessa is being Nessa, which I love because she has such a great personality. She always makes me smile and Ewan is still ‘hiding’ a bit behind her even though that’s not really easy with him being a gentle giant.

What harm can there be in talking about your dream to a stranger? None what

A sweet cutesy story, perfect between thrillers.

Single mom, Liza met an attractive man Scott on a night out and spoke about her dreams of a perfect place to open her 'arty-crafty-booky' shop. Unfortunately, that was the same shop that Scott liked for his interior design. Would a new dream start between them?

My first book by author Kirsty Ferry, I loved the meet-cute of the main characters. Both had dreams flying high and were willing to fight for them. Then came an unusual solution between the t

As soon as I read the title, I knew that I needed to read this book, it spoke to me and once the story opened up and we find that the lovely Liza the leading lady of the story is a giggler which is what our wonderful hero; Scott likes about her. It was fate! You, see I am a notorious giggler, I giggle over books, films, people. I giggle when I shouldn’t (Giggling through funerals is a serious faux pas) I giggle in awkward moments …I’ve even giggled through a job interview because I was so nervou ...more
Huh, it's been a while since I started and finished a book in the same day.

This fun little book just doesn't want to make you feel bad or sad at all, it gives you sprinkles of magic here, loads of good family bonding there, a bit of suspicion, good amount of achieved dreams, a tea spoon of Queen because Bohemian Rhapsody is always a part of our humanity, and a cat, a very wise and glorious cat.

At first I thought Scott was a psychopath, truely, he went to almost extreme extents to buy the shop sh

This new story in a series of fun novellas can be read as a stand-alone but, if you haven't read Every Witch Way before, you'll probably want to read it after in order to find out more about Nessa (who appears in this book as the hero's sister) and Schubert (the famous cat that gives the series its name).
When I read the version submitted to Choc Lit's Tasting Panel in 2017, no other Schubert book had been published yet, so I was confused by his and Nessa's strange behaviour, but I still enjoyed

There's romance, drama, fun and a cat that always steals the show - what more do you want from a book?! It's always wonderful to reconnect with characters from the Schubert series (Every Witch Way and A Christmas Secret ) and this time with get to follow the story of single mum Liza and Scott, who is Nessa's brother. They meet when she's on a rare night out and there's a spark between them, but then that could be the booze that Liza has been drinking! She opens up to him about her plans for her ...more

The latest novella from Kirsty Ferry is the latest in a series of books which involve a cat named Schubert! This is an entirely new series for me, and whilst it can be read as a standalone, it’s a bit of a different ‘flavour’ to what I’ve got used to from the author, and so it took me a little while to settle into it.

With this series, there seems to be a touch of the mystical thrown in – something I hadn’t expected, and with no back story or understanding of the wider picture, I think that perha

Sometimes a story will simply leave me with a smile on my face most of the time that I’m reading it. It Started With A Giggle was that kind of book. It’s a novella-length romance with just a hint of magic, a cast of characters that will keep you on your toes as we get a look at both sides of their story, and a situation that could have turned out quite differently yet was the perfect answer to needs that neither Scott or Liza knew they were looking for – it turns out

It Started With a Giggle is the third in Kirsty Ferry's Schubert series of novellas. Don't worry if you haven't read the other two though. This is a standalone story linked by a few characters who were in the previous books, most notably Schubert of course. Schubert is the black cat on the front cover and even though I'm not a cat lover, it's hard not to appreciate Schubert!

Liza is a single mom of 10-year-old Isabel, who decides to partake in a girls night out for the first time in a long while. After partaking in a few drinks she meets a handsome, green-eyed man and confides in him about her dreams of being an entrepreneur. The man tells her she should to do what feels right and to follow her dreams.

Her dream is to open a shop that deals with art, crafts, books and dare she dream, a little tea shop. There is a perfectly empty shop nearby and she has her sights s

A lighthearted and easy read, this is an excellent way to pass a few hours.

One night in a pub, Lisa-Belle Graham divulges her dream of running a shop to a total stranger, and she has even found the perfect location. A few days later, when signing the lease for her new premises, she discovers she'll have to share the property with this same stranger. Scott McCreadie has sneakily persuaded the landlord to lease him the top floor for his interior design offices. Sharing her shop was definitely not

This is a fun story pitting two people against one another to rent the same property and their subsequent problems. Scott and Lisa having met in a bar then seem to be constantly meeting and rubbing each other the wrong way. Their story will keep you smiling with the odd giggle thrown in. Add a slightly witchy sister, together with her cat, Schubert, into the mix and there is something for everyone in this book. A good finish makes this a great book.

Mow wow – Schubert rides again! I love these quirky little stories where Schubert the cat and his feisty owner, Nessa, pop up with their little interventions. Another winner from Kirsty Ferry for me, a most enjoyable romance with tweaks, which I once more had to read without stopping. My only problem is that I am now impatiently waiting for the next book! Keep writing, Kirsty ….

Such a lovely story - put a smile on my face from start to finish. Single mum Liza hits it off with Scott on their first meeting. But then they become competitors for the same property for their dream business. Steve can’t understand how Liza can resist his charm! Can they ever become friends or even more? Highly recommend!

Comical and, witty. This is an essential read on those days you need to detach yourself from life, I guarantee you won’t be able to put this book down once you start reading it. Grab a cuppa or glass of wine, switch off your phone and settle down to a few hours of escapism as you enjoy the unfurling antics of two people, whose lives cross paths with Schubert the cat acting as a modern day Cupid.
