Seventeen years have passed... Adam wants a second chance, but so does a killer...
Detective Adam Jamison had been given more than he can handle. After a friend dies in his arms, he turns to the bottle to alleviate the pain. But when the rape case he and his partner, Amelia Johnson, are working turns into murder, Adam questions his ability to keep anyone safe. Captain Baker links the current case to a seventeen year old cold case, and Adam is left with a choice, he can wallow in self-pity and regret or he can humble himself and seek forgiveness from his childhood friend.
Ella Perkins lives a quiet life as a third grade teacher, and she would prefer to keep it that way. But when the past slams open the door, she's left scrambling to keep herself steady. But it isn't safe anywhere. The man that harmed her seventeen years ago is back and out to kill her. And even though Adam is determined to keep her physically safe, can she trust him and forgive him?
ON YOUR KNEES, the third book in The Detectives of Hazel Hill Series, is a heart pounding Christian romantic suspense novel that will keep you guessing and cheering for Adam and Ella.
Third book in the Butcher Hill series. Adam and Ella were friends during childhood through early high school. Adam was a high school jock and he turned his back on Ella and Christ to live a wild life. Unbeknownst to Adam, Ella was attacked and raped by a stranger and ended up pregnant at 17. Ella remained faithful to Christ and tried to rebuild her life after putting her baby up for adoption. Both Adam and Ella continued on their separate ways. Seventeen years later Ella and Adam meet again. The old feelings are still there. Adam, now a police detective , discovers Ella,s past because of a serial killer that has returned to kill the women he raped 17 years ago. A good murder mystery but also a reminder of Christ’ s love for everyone. Ella , who is a rock of faith and Adam who is being called to return to his faith and to Ella. Will Adam find Jesus again? Will the Butcher Hill Police Dept find their serial killer before Ella is killed. Will Adam and Ella have a second chance at love.
I really liked how both Adam and Ella grew strong throughout the story. Ella found she could do things she did not think possible and Adam learned he could trust and lean on God. His conversion was very nice to read. So far, I had enjoyed this series and will start the next tonight. Liz does need someone to proof read for her. There were a lot of words that the wrong word was used; not something a spell check would catch. I usually do not comment on errors because I read for pleasure and do look for problems; but when I have to reread a sentence because it did not make sense, I notice. I would recommend this book to adults.
Liz Bradford has a gift for detail. To fill in the places you always wished other stories would include. I enjoyed every minute of this thrill but loveable book. Not often do I wonder if the bad guy is going to win, but she did it. Lots of favorite characters in this story but two things really stand out. Caleb and his ability to respond to the Holy Spirit and Elle's ability to sing to the Lord when in trouble. That to me is the real World when you walk with Jesus and you need help. Enjoy!
Clean Christian police drama. I would have given it 5 stars but there were many errors that should have been caught by a good proofreader; such as threw used instead of through; killer instead of killed; bead instead of bed; rot iron instead of wrought iron. The strong Christian theme and sweet love story made this a great read in spite of the distracting errors.
Just a beautiful story on love. Not just the human hormones racing but the love of God, that gave His Son, for nothing more than true love. The mingling of the hymns that we sang brought so many good memories as we ( I know I did) built that strong foundation in Faith. Even when we walk away or fled running as full speed, He always loved us and welcomed us back to the fold. LOVED IT!!
Liz Bradford’s books are so full of suspense and this one is no exception. This is #3 in the Hazel Hill Detectives Series and the main characters here are Adam and Ella. A killer is after Ella and Adam has his work cut out for him trying to keep her safe. As an old flame who was hurt terribly by Adan in the past Ella has to get past the hurts and trust Adam and his partner to keep her safe. I am enjoying this series wit two more books to go.
Really good book a mystery and a couple learning to trust again
Adam a Detective and Ella a Teacher meet again and he finds out that what he believed about Ella was not true. He has been assigned to help protect her and finds himself falling for her all over again. Trying to find a way to ask her to forgive him for past mistakes and asking God to forgive him too. Really love this storyline.
Love this series and this brilliant author. It is so nice to read a book where God is worshipped and his name is not used in vain. I gave this book a four star because of all the editing mistakes. Lots of double words. Lordy! This author should go back to her previous proofreader/editor. First two books had fantastic editing.
I've read four of the five in this series and enjoyed all of them. However, Books one and three are my favorites. I loved Adam's story and the spiritual thread that wound through it. Also loved that Ella didn't fit the stereotypical mode of a redhead and their quite different love story. So much to appreciate about this series. Looking forward to more from this author.
Each story gets better and better. I know it's fiction but so very real! I have re-read prayers and conversations with God several times. They are a very real inspiration and help in my own daily walk.
Another good installment in the Hazel Hill saga, although this one is not my favorite. The plot is good, I think, but the romance fell a little flat for me.
This book is also plagued by typos and grammatical errors - proofreading would help immensely, as most of them are very obvious.
This is an excellent read If you like to read about redemption and second chances this is your book! Do not believe that our God can not work miracles by taking the awful and turning it into good. The characters are honest and real. With great depth! Enjoy!!!!
This book features Adam’s story. He’s been resisting God’s pull on his heart. The more he gets pulled into his case, the more he struggles with it. I recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense.
I enjoyed reading this book three in the series. I was totally enthralled by the way they tried to work out who the culprit was. It did take them some time to work out where he worked.
I just finished reading book 3 of the Hazel Hill series and it was just as good as the first 2. I love how she makes you sit on the edge of your seat and she can describe things to get the point across but does get gruesome. On to book 4.
A rapist on the loose turned killer. He has his victim s already. You must read to understand how he picked them. This is a great mystery that focuses on the police department and their very wonderful detectives.
This is my favorite so far in this series. I like that I am very familiar with all the characters after book 3. I enjoyed this book and the romance that went along with the suspense. I look forward to book 4
This book is a wonderful story of God’s grace in action. I enjoyed the characters and how they interacted with each other. The story was fast paced and very suspenseful.
Another Liz Bradford book I couldn’t put down! I loved reading Ella and Adam’s story. I’m just sad because I’ll have to wait another month or two for Book 4!
I really liked this one. Adam's story was so much more than what I was expecting. His and Ella's story was beautiful and real, I liked them both together, they just fit with one another
