A lovely meeting of two people who are just bored. Joanna, a widow was ready to do stop being treated
with kid gloves, after her husband had passed away and then she had a serious illness, almost losing her life. What's a lady to do? Charity work. Yes, she was great talking to people and could raise funds, use her organization skills... The Creasey Charity for Children and their new hospital. Maybe that is why she had dreamed of the Earl of Newhaven. "It had been a sign," this was what she

I liked this book. The story was a bit cute and quite fun. I thought that Joanna and Ambrose had good chemistry and I very much enjoyed their banter. This book has a lot of sweetness to it and I found this romance very easy to read. This is my candid review that I an independently choosing to post.

Seeking Fulfillment and Purpose

I have read a great number of Samantha Holt’s books because she rights in my favorite romance genre, Regency. I have found her books to be of variable quality. I have to say, though, that I thoroughly enjoyed this particular romance. The heroine has been through so much before the book opens. A recent young widow, she is just up from what could have been her deathbed. When she arises, she knows that she wants to do more than simply be a grieving widow. Back in

The Wallflower brides series.
MARRIED TO THE EARL, is book 3.

I have to say, I loved this book. From the first page i wanted to know more.
I almost stepped back in time and held Joanna Harts hand.
This is an adult regency book.

The characters where really well thought out, and came alive in this story.
The book dealt with loss of a loved partner. having to start healing and moving forwards.

A charity beckons, to give our young widow a sense of purpose, whilst protecting her reputation.

Not only was she widowed only a short time after her marriage, but she was struck by a serious illness and almost lost her own life. Staying with her parents who are taking care of her through her recovery, she is both grieving loss of her husband and bored without something worthwhile to occupy her time. MARRIED TO THE EARL is the third book in the Wallflower Brides series.

I have loved all three of the books in this Regency Romance series, but have to admit that I have been looking forward to Joanna’s story. It turns out she was the perfect daughter, the perfect debutante, the perfect wife, but she isn’t doing so well as a widow. She has bottled up her emotions and pushed her purposes towards others. When she pushes herself into charity work, and ends up working with Ambrose, that’s the

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was funny, flirtatious and realistic. The H and h were facing a crossroads in their life. In the countryside the h was avoiding grieving for the loss of her husband. She kept busy instead. To the worry of her mother and her two best friends. She heard of a charity hospital being built in her area and became involved. In London the H tired of roguish raking ways felt a yearning for something meaningful for his life and he knew not what to do about it. He ...more

I have just about everything Samantha Holt has written so when I had the opportunity to review this new book I picked it up immediately. Joanna and Ambrose meet when they both decide to invest time into the same charity, which was established by the great-grandfather of Ambrose. They had moved in the same social circle but really only knew each other by reputation and therefore ...more

He wants more out of life than just being a rake and womanizer. The attraction is almost instant and so the story proceeds. Its a wonderful story of simply two people falling in love. Another great read my Samantha Holt! This is the 3rd book in the series The Wallflower Brides but it can be read as a stand-alone book. I enjoyed this book about Ambrose and Joanna. Ambrose was an Earl who was feeling empty inside, Joanna was a too young widow who didn’t know what to do with her life. This is the story of them meeting and falling in love. Like all of Samantha Holts books I really enjoyed this and the time flew by while I was reading the book.
