This is THE book to read if you want to understand how war changes a person and their family. It is a primer on how to recognize, understand and live with PTSD. PTSD is not something you fight or cure - it has to be acknowledged and then you may be able to diminish its intrusiveness in your life.

A very useful read, especially if you are returning from a war . . . any war.

I wish there was an updated version for the GWOT!
Her empathy exercises may make people balk today, but she was simply being honest. And I can appreciate that from her generation.
