Imaginative and fun to read.

When Goldie, a kitdent (young student kitten), forms a team to investigate a strange disappearance of classified books and bookends from their school’s library, little did he know that he’d be tracking down well-armed and technologically advanced warriors of a species thought to be long extinct. The leader of this species is determined to become the dominant race.

Using intelligence, advanced feline science and mystical technology along with sheer cat cunning, Goldie p

A feast of invention!
This story for pre-teens places us in an enchanting world where trees float in the air, cats travel around in fabulously mad vehicles and those cats of student age attend a kind of Hogwartish institution, attending a range of highly inventive classes and visiting a library where sleeping cats form the bookends.
But there are dark forces at play, and the cats’ lives are fraught with danger. Particularly as the wonderfully evil Cerulean Monarch is desperate for his forces to st

The Cerulean Monarch is an inventive tale about a world where cats are in charge. They probably would do better than people but I digress. Many of the themes are ‘human’, like family conflicts and sorrow over a tragedy. There are a lot of things that I found inventive, like if a car was designed for cats to drive, what would that look like. I found the author quite inventive with several things I would call Alternative Biology. And there is also a huge threat which threatens the whole community ...more

THE CERULEAN MONARCH by Prashanti Talluri is a work of Juvenile/Young Adult fantasy much in the vein of the Harry Potter books. But in this novel the main characters are cats! The cats are people, and the people are cats. Some are calicos, tabbies, or Persians, and many other varieties. Cats of all colors.
Suffice it to say, for lovers of cats this book deserves five stars. But I must also review it for people who love books but have no particular feeling for cats. This is not a book for cat ha

Cerulean Monarch is a cute, imaginative world of anthropomorphized felines that is clearly targeted at younger readers. To that end, there is a lot the book gets right. The charming illustrations are adorable, and the highlight of the book.

There’s a minor plot concerning a competing species that is “petrifying” the protagonist Felid species into pebbles (a reversible process). However, this is a side-event to the main attraction: “what kitdents learn in school.”

Middle school readers who pay at

The Cerulean Monarch is a middle grade fantasy set in a world inhabited by cats. I think this is the second book on a series, but you don't need to read the first in order to follow the story. The fifth grade students of Meow Wow Highschool investigate the disappearance of the books from a secret room in their library. Goldie and his friends are up to the task to solve the mystery before the other team does. Little do they know that they're about find themselves face to face with another species ...more

Book Review : "The Cerulean Monarch"

'The Cerulean Monarch' is a fantasy fiction written by the author Prashanti Talluri. Prashanti is an avid cat lover and loves to write stories about them. This book was no exception. The story revolves around the world of cats and they appear as students in their world. They have their own school, they attend classes and the classes are related to science. In the story, Goldie, a kitten, and the protagonist of the story makes an investigation team for a sudden

The book ‘The Cerulean Monarch’ by ‘Talluri Prashanti’ is a very interesting read. I started reading this book to my niece but found myself building up interest in it as well. The plot is about kittens and the cats as students. Their life seems all perfect when all of the sudden, they notice some books getting missing from their school libraries. And, the odd thing here is that they are all science related books. Goldie, the main character of the story, sets out to track down the one behind this

Book Name : Cerulean-Monarch - Golden Cat Book

Author : Prashanti Tallauri

Genre : Fiction, Fantasy

Storyline : The maine lead cat teams up with her mates to solve the mystery and find the book missing from the library.

Review : The basic storyline pretty much sums up who the audience of the book is. The book seems to be a nice gift for your children or younger siblings to engage them in the fantasy land and give them something to do other than use their phones. The language of the story is very si

The Cerulean Monarch is a wonderful adventure tale for young readers. The author uses touches of science, mythical substances and real-world issues which melds into imaginative storytelling. The narrative is intense and can keep a young reader captivated to the story, and it has plenty of subtly built-in wit and humour for balance. The protagonist of the story Goldie who's a student found out about the mysteriously disappearing books, so Goldie with his friends and some of his school mates every ...more

Title: Imaginations and Magic

Imaginations are always wonderful when it is yours but Imaginations are interesting when these are the originated from an author's mind. This book is a perfect example of enthralling imaginations. Characters' relevance to kitten (Cat) is fascinating. One can assume that author might be a cat lover. Thus, able to imagine so beautifully for this particular creature. There is a mystery in the story found in school library where a book has lost. To entertain that mystery

Cerulean Monarch is a very imaginative magical school furry mashup children's book. It's the second in a series, and I didn't read the first one, but I feel you can generally jump into the story and not be lost. The school has an ever shifting layout, the people are feliods – aka cat furries – and they have magic and tech that's blended well together. As a lover of catgirls/boys, the blend of cat and human was a fun aspect of this tale. There's quite a bit of emphasis about the world's science/m ...more
