The Fibromyalgia Help Book: Practical Guide to Living Better With Fibromyalgia

Rate this book
The most comprehensive and understandable treatise on fibromyalgia that I have had the pleasure to review. It deals in a very practical way with questions I hear in my office every day. I plan to use this book for my patients.--Glenn A. McCain, M.D., Southeast Arthritis Care Center, Charlotte, North Carolina

This book was an absolute Godsend to me back when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia (17 years ago!). At that point I had no idea what fibromyalgia was and this book gave a clear and understandable description of what was going on. I should state that I haven't actually picked up the most recent edition of this book and checked to see if all the data is current as medical knowledge is constantly changing, but at the time that I bought the book it was absolutely on point and it was the best reference book out there.

I was fortunate enough to meet the author, Jenny Fransen, at a fibromyalgia conference while I was living in Saint Paul, Minnesota and she was very kind, compassionate and warm. It seemed very obvious to me that her goal with writing this book was to help people ease their suffering and not to make a lot of money from selling books. With the recent onslaught of books on fibromyalgia, sometimes I wonder if that's true of all the authors out there.
