I could relate. I learned to cook on a woodstove, in a kitchen with a hand pump at the sink. Some good recipes too.

This is not just a book of recipes but a story about a woman's life told through the recipes. From growing up to getting married to having kids and growing old. From life in a shack with no running water or electricity to modern times with everyday conveniences. The recipes tell the story. A very good book to read. I'm glad I found it on the library shelf.
