A lonely teen fairy godmother Charity who cannot solve her own problems trying to make her peers’ wishes come true by controlling glimpses( or the other way around) And of course she finds herself start to deeply fall for her quirky/ geeky but also heavenly sweetie nemesis Noah who finds out her powers and blackmails her to use her magic for getting back her ex!
But as you may imagine what if fairy godmother doesn’t want to help him riding into sunset with his ex, what if she starts to think instead of being controlled by glimpses, she should have a chance to have her own HEA! What if she just gets sick of her own dysfunctional family’s attitudes! Is it too late to stand for herself and instead of making everyone’s wishes come true, having a right to wish happiness for herself!
This is amazing, entertaining, unique, creative, magical, heartwarming, smart novel with enjoyably geeky Star Trek references and adorable characters!

Overall: Well earned, feel good, poignant, clever five blinking, wishful stars!

Well I don't normally enjoy this type of story, but Charity was such an endearing character that I found myself quite invested as she bumbled her way through her Glimpses.
The supporting cast were also quite entertaining and some of the banter was quite witty. I liked that there was a bit of character development as Charity started to examine more closely the consequences of her actions. Happy to add this to my booktalk collection.

This book was SO CUTE. It was funny and sweet and meaningful and touching, and I loved every part of it. From the adorable characters to the toe-curling romance, every part of this book was addictive and entertaining. And the humour! Ahhh I loved it, I couldn’t stop laughing and every page led to a new treasure.
And the characters! I loved our MC and the way that she grew as a person throughout the book, and I loved the way she began to open her eyes and consider new outlooks on life. And it was such fun to read from her perspective! Her inner monologue was freaking hilarious.
“Didn’t someone say, Failure is the best teacher? Forget it. It’s probably from a Marvel movie. Anyway, it’s really true.”
And the love interest….. where can I find a Noah in my life? He was funny and cute and dorky and amazing, and I love, love, LOVED the relationship that developed between Noah and Charity. Their snark was such fun to read, and the way that they each accepted that they’d made mistakes was really wholesome and touching. Honestly these two made me want to cry, I want a romantic relationship like the one they have! Cuties.
And the meaningly messages in the novel! Messages about love and acceptance and belonging. Messages about owning your own destiny and understanding the love that you deserve. The messages were gorgeous and touching and so, so sweet.
“Because there’s no such thing as curses. We each make our own choices and create the best life we can.”
All in all, this book was touching and funny and so, so adorable. I loved it! Thank you so much to the author and Favourite Pages for the free review copy :)).

Glimpsed is refreshing, cute , original and fun. This story follows Charity who is a fairy godmother and grants wishes. Such a cool idea right? Noah had figures out what she does and blackmailed her into helping him grant his wish. Charity was a strong heroine and I liked her a lot! Omg and Noah this nerdy guy who loves Star Trek ❤️ sigh I really liked him too! There was also some great discussions centered around family ! This was a great read! It’s unique , if you like contemporary then this is definitely for you!

I'm not crying. You're crying. But seriously, this was probably the best book I've read all month and one of the best of the year. It was witty, nerdy, and oh so romantic. I already want to read it again!
Right from the beginning, I was laughing so hard. This book was hilarious! I especially laughed at Noah and Charity's relationship. Their banter was pure gold. Plus, they were both so sarcastic that it made things a lot of fun.
Speaking of their relationship, it was seriously the best. It was a beautifully curated slow burn that had me screaming at them and crying at the same time. Every time they argued or laughed together or schemed or anything, I was here for it. These two characters were just so well developed and worked so great together. I just really love them!
Also, there were sooooo many cute Noah moments. I wanted to squeal every time he did something dorky or awkward. He was just so cute when he was embarrassed or called out on being a little nerdy. I loved it and definitely swooned over him multiple times.
And I loved seeing the change in Charity. She goes through a lot of tough things throughout the book that cause her to change and shift more into the person she's meant to be. As well, she learns more about her fairy godmother powers (with the help of our lovely Noah) that help her to understand her purpose and how she's meant to help people.
Overall, THIS IS A MUST READ!! I repeat, read this book before all else! I'll be recommending this hilarious, well-written, and romantic book to everyone I know.

“He looks cocky in a way unique to dorks—like he just leveled up in Dungeons and Dragons.”
Okay, so I loved it. I’m a sucker for fairy tale retellings, and this one asks what would happen if the fairy godmother made the wrong wishes come true, and I’m here for it.
I really liked the way that Charity grows as a person throughout the story, and she learns some hard lessons from Noah. At the same time, Noah puts in a lot of work and changes a lot by the end as well. They are both obnoxiously stubborn but genuinely kind people, which makes it really easy to root for them. They’re also hilarious and super sweet, so there’s that.
Charity’s issues with her glimpses was a very strong plot, as she heads off on a quest to right all the problems she’s accidentally caused by helping people find their “happily ever afters”. I’m also genuinely concerned about her scheduling skills because I cannot believe that one person can do that much on a school night, but I digress.
I found the climax to be a bit overdramatic, and I felt like the conflict was stretched out a bit too long, especially toward the end, but it was minor enough to overlook.
Overall, though, this was a really sweet, magical story that I finished off in one sitting.

When it comes to a Cinderella retelling, we often find that the protagonist in the said story will be Cinderella, of course. However, Glimpsed by G.F. Miller on the other hand serves us a story that sheds light on one character other than Cinderella, that is the fairy godmother. For me, it is refreshing for a character that we once do not give a crap about has finally given a chance to be in the spotlight of the story.
With a modern take on the fairy godmother who’s still studying in a high school and a member of the Poms team, Charity has been carrying out her normal-yet-not-so-normal life since she has the ‘gift’ to grant people’s wishes. Coming out as a strong, cold and untouchable character, her reputation in the school is a top-notch one, and is considered as an influencer as people look up to her. Little do they know; this girl right here has the capability to ‘glimpse’ into their deepest wishes a.k.a Happily Ever After (HEA) and ‘nudge’ anything that she wants to coerce them into doing something that they themselves won’t even aware of. Glimpse? She can see a spur of moment of your future, and nudge? If you’re feeling sad, she can nudge in some positivity into you without your notice.
The fairy godmothering has been passed through generations of her family and she thought it’s her top priority to get the job done; granting anyone’s wishes as soon as she gets the glimpses. Those people whom she has helped before are called Cindy a.k.a Cinderella regardless of genders and races. Now, this is the part that I like about in this book. The author sprinkles her story with diversity, something that I feel very appreciated for including diverse characters. Vindhya is the next Cindy that Charity has already glimpsed into; picturing a smart, nerdy Vindhya becoming a homecoming queen this year. Quite a futile one but Charity’s perseverance is something else.
Plot-wise, the story pace is coordinated nicely with a very interesting conflict. While she’s busy working on granting Vindhya’s wish, someone, another dorky, a great analyser, and her future nemesis named Noah, comes messing up her life finding out about her secret thanks to his brain. One of Charity’s Cindies is Noah’s first love named Holly but she's ended up with a famous jock due to Charity’s help. Before Charity's secret is out to anyone in high school, she’s forced to grant his wish too; undone of what she has done to Holly and coupled him up with Holly. But what the future beholds them is something more than a wish to grant for. By the way, I simped Noah from the start till the end. Seriously, he's that guy who's off-limit, such a soft one. And for Charity, I liked her because of her strong character but sometimes I disliked her because she did questionable things that made me angry. But I guess it did contribute to the plot.
Tangled up in light rom-com mess, with a main theme that tackles about the existential crisis and everything that seems and sounds cliché but ending up as ‘uncliche’, I highly recommend this book. It’s a story that naturally draws out your laughter, squealing👀, and also takes its sweet time in bringing family relationships and supportive friends into life.

I'm kind of conflicted about this one. I did like the premise a lot, it's sort of a Cinderella retelling but focusing on the fairy godmother. I think retellings that focus on a different character are a lot of fun and seeing the person who helps others get a happily ever after work on being happy themselves was cute. On the other hand, I thought Charity was kind of clueless and as the story went on, I got more frustrated with her. Why is she not seeing what's right in front of her face? Why is she making poor choices and hurting others?
The love interest Noah was a jerk at the beginning and I wasn't sure if I'd like him, but he grew on me and his dorkiness was sweet. At first he's sort of misogynistic, thinking a girl should like him just because he wants her to and manipulating Charity. Once it's clear who he's really crushing on, he becomes sweeter and I just wanted him to be happy.
Charity has times when I like her. She really is trying to grant her "Cindies" wishes and she's popular without being mean to others. Then she ignores what people are trying to tell her and is too headstrong to let things go. Just let people live their lives without interfering in every choice maybe?

I really wish Goodreads had half stars because this is the perfect 3.5-star book to me. A really fun read, an interesting premise, and a cute story, but some of the themes weren't developed as strongly as they could have been. Glimpsed has the perfect level of cheesiness that I'd expect for a book about a fairy godmother, and is filled with light-hearted fun. I really enjoyed the discussion about how she's granting wishes as she perceives them, not what's best for the person, and not necessarily what the person wants. It was an excellent way to touch on how our own internal biases impact how we see success and happiness. The constant Star Trek references were also adorable, especially if you're a fan of it, this book has an adorable geekiness to it that I'm sure people will enjoy. Also, hello enemies-to-lovers and fake dating trope! I love to see it! However,, the family drama was resolved too easily in my eyes and without enough consequences. I understand the desire to keep it light-hearted, but I'm not a fan of the trope in YA books that family will mistreat you but they have a reason so it's okay. Regardless, this was a fun debut novel and I'm excited to see what other magic the author has up her sleeve.

It was a charming story in a way but not my cup of tea. Didn't see anything wrong with it just didn't grab me. But I can see why people enjoy it more

Prince Charming surveyed the sea of hopeful courtiers dispassionately, unaware that, at that very moment, his destiny was speeding toward the castle in the form of a pumpkin carriage. Inside the erstwhile pumpkin, Cinderella marveled at her sudden change of fortune . . . and footwear.
Meanwhile, the fairy godmother, disguised as a parlor maid, was two-handed stress eating French pastries as she watched the minute hand on the clock tower.
But that last part never gets included because nobody cares. It’s not her story. So nobody gives a magical mouse turd about the fairy godmother’s problems.
Except for me.
I know exactly what that chick was going through because, right now, Coach is preparing to start the Poms tryout without Carmen. The ball is on, and my Cinderella is nowhere in sight.
Carmen texted fifteen minutes ago that she had a flat tire. But having a legitimate reason for missing the tryout is not going to get Carmen on the squad. Coach is hard-core about starting on time. If we’re even thirty seconds late for practice, we have to stay after and do wind sprints. But if you’re late for the tryout, you’re just out of luck.
What we need is a delay.
With a wink, I launch a mental nudge at Coach, magically knocking the location of her clipboard out of her mind. She begins to wander around the gym, looking flustered. My right hand immediately gets pins and needles but, hey, worth it.
Come on, Carmen, I silently plead as I watch Coach flounder. We are not flushing six months of work down the toilet because of a flat tire.
The clock ticks to 3:02.
Then 3:03.
The nudge wears off. “Aha!” Coach says triumphantly to no one in particular, picking the clipboard up from the bench, where it’s been sitting in plain sight the whole time.
I desperately wink another nudge at her—a sense that the sound system settings need to be checked. She gives her forehead a little massage, feeling the strain of too many nudges. I feel it too. My whole right arm is asleep now, all the way to my shoulder. It’s super annoying.
But it buys us a few more minutes. She goes to the control panel and ponders the knobs and sliders, inputs and outputs.
“Uuuuuugh!” Scarlett Okumura groans from the spot next to me, her knee bouncing a hundred miles an hour. “What is the problem? Coach never starts late.”
Scarlett’s the team captain and obviously feeling the tension in the room. I nudge her a little calm, wishing I could do the same for myself.
“It’s only 3:05,” Gwen Strope replies from her other side. She doesn’t look up from her phone screen to deliver this information, and her face is entirely obscured behind a halo of tight black curls. To my undying relief, the gym doors open, and Carmen comes skidding through them in compression pants and a crop top, a black smudge clearly visible on her forearm. She doesn’t stop to catch her breath but takes her place in the second row. She scans the bleachers, and when our eyes meet, she gives me a tiny nod. I nod back—you got this.

Thanks so much to everyone who's read Glimpsed! For those still considering...I thought you might like to read a few pages. (I am TOTALLY that girl in the bookstore reading the first few pages of every book.) So here you go...GLIMPSED, first 3 pages:

Prince Charming surveyed the sea of hopeful courtiers dispassionately, unaware that, at that very moment, his destiny was speeding toward the castle in the form of a pumpkin carriage. Inside the erstwhile pumpkin, Cinderella marveled at her sudden change of fortune . . . and footwear.
Meanwhile, the fairy godmother, disguised as a parlor maid, was two-handed stress eating French pastries as she watched the minute hand on the clock tower.
But that last part never gets included because nobody cares. It’s not her story. So nobody gives a magical mouse turd about the fairy godmother’s problems.
Except for me.
I know exactly what that chick was going through because, right now, Coach is preparing to start the Poms tryout without Carmen. The ball is on, and my Cinderella is nowhere in sight.
Carmen texted fifteen minutes ago that she had a flat tire. But having a legitimate reason for missing the tryout is not going to get Carmen on the squad. Coach is hard-core about starting on time. If we’re even thirty seconds late for practice, we have to stay after and do wind sprints. But if you’re late for the tryout, you’re just out of luck.
What we need is a delay.
With a wink, I launch a mental nudge at Coach, magically knocking the location of her clipboard out of her mind. She begins to wander around the gym, looking flustered. My right hand immediately gets pins and needles but, hey, worth it.
Come on, Carmen, I silently plead as I watch Coach flounder. We are not flushing six months of work down the toilet because of a flat tire.
The clock ticks to 3:02.
Then 3:03.
The nudge wears off. “Aha!” Coach says triumphantly to no one in particular, picking the clipboard up from the bench, where it’s been sitting in plain sight the whole time.
I desperately wink another nudge at her—a sense that the sound system settings need to be checked. She gives her forehead a little massage, feeling the strain of too many nudges. I feel it too. My whole right arm is asleep now, all the way to my shoulder. It’s super annoying.
But it buys us a few more minutes. She goes to the control panel and ponders the knobs and sliders, inputs and outputs.
“Uuuuuugh!” Scarlett Okumura groans from the spot next to me, her knee bouncing a hundred miles an hour. “What is the problem? Coach never starts late.”
Scarlett’s the team captain and obviously feeling the tension in the room. I nudge her a little calm, wishing I could do the same for myself.
“It’s only 3:05,” Gwen Strope replies from her other side. She doesn’t look up from her phone screen to deliver this information, and her face is entirely obscured behind a halo of tight black curls. To my undying relief, the gym doors open, and Carmen comes skidding through them in compression pants and a crop top, a black smudge clearly visible on her forearm. She doesn’t stop to catch her breath but takes her place in the second row. She scans the bleachers, and when our eyes meet, she gives me a tiny nod. I nod back—you got this.

G.F. Miller’s young adult debut takes the form of a sparkly, page-turning romantic comedy with a dash of fantasy thrown in for good measure.
If you thought you knew everything about fairy godmothers, think again. Glimpsed gives us a major upgrade in the fairy godmother department. Instead of a plump, motherly Cinderella type godmother with a wand, we have cool 16-year old Charity in her denim shorts and acid green hair (well, acid green when she’s in a bad mood, that is…the hair changes). Charity is popular, a pom dancer, high school trend-setter and a beauty. No wings and certainly no wands needed, she gets “glimpses” of what people desperately want in their lives and strives to help them achieve those dreams. She even has little mini-spells in the form of thought “nudges” that help pave the way for those she takes under her (metaphorical!) wing.
Charity’s job as a fairy godmother is to transform peoples’ lives for the better but it’s important she looks like an ordinary girl. So when Noah figures out Charity’s secret, that she’s no ordinary high school girl but a magical human capable of granting a heart’s desire, things get complicated…fast.
In part, this is because like any good fairy godmother, Charity wants to do good by her “Cindy’s”. But Noah points out that his life has been made considerable worse by her interference with a potential love interest of his own and when that happens, Charity is forced to take a hard look at whether her wish-granting is a good thing. It turns out that some of her Cindy’s aren’t doing so well, and this sends Charity into a crisis: does she stop performing magic? Does she ignore her calling as a fairy godmother? And how can she undo any harm she’s caused?
Noah is kind of hate-able at first. At least, I wasn’t impressed. But the strength of Miller’s writing is in her how she manages to change the reader’s mind about a few things, including Noah, who goes from being a nemesis to...oh wait, spoiler alert (I'll shut up).
As for Charity, she is a loveable character from the start, complicated and intense, clever and thoughtful, trying to do the “right” thing and discovering, as we do in life, that we can’t always know what that is.
I fell in love with Miller’s characters, her bizarre blending of the real and magical, her portrayal of Charity’s grandmother and the sheer joy and sparkle of her writing. Little quibble about how mothers are portrayed here but the ingenuity of characterisation, the plot twists and sheer inventiveness of this affectionate novel make it top on my shelves for 2021 YA. Deserving of all five stars and a little extra for the way it put me in a good mood every time I opened it.

This book had all the elements I love in a book. The enemies to lovers, sloooowww burn romance, with a hint of magic, and a bit of family drama. I just adored this story 😍
We follow Charity who is able to Glimpse people’s futures, or possible outcomes for their future. And she is the fairy godmother who swoops in to grant their wishes! Enter Noah who figures out what she does or can do and basically blackmails her into helping him grant his wish. Meanwhile, Charity realizes, there’s more to her Glimpses than meets the eye.
I love the unique idea of Charity being a fairy godmother who grants people’s wishes or their desires. No one thinks of the fairy godmother. She was young once too and must have had a story to her life!
I just adored Charity! She’s feisty, a trendsetter, but not overly popular, tough and actually has the same issues that maybe a lot of us have, like major family issues and feelings of abandonment issues, which makes her actually relatable even with her wish granting powers. Although, she’s well known in school, it’s clear she’s lonely, but she thinks she cannot have relationships with anyone without making their lives miserable. I loved watching her grow from this girl who thinks she has to solve everything for everyone else to a girl who realizes she’s lonely and wants something more in her life for herself, and so goes from allowing the Glimpses to control her life, to her controlling the Glimpses. On a side note, she also dyes her hair based on her mood basically every day, and I don’t know how her hair is okay, but I loved that! Would love to see some of those unique hair colors!
Then Noah who is just the very epitome of adorkableness for reals 😍 all his Star Trek references! To die for! I loved how much of a nerd he is, especially since I love nerdy stuff and actually got a lot of the Star Trek references 😂 I loved the dynamic between the two of them too. They were so sassy to one another at first and slowly turned into a more personal teasing and converting Charity to watching and using Star Trek references too, I mean, just so cute! I couldn’t get enough of them!
This book comes out January 2021, and seriously, everyone should read it! 😊

If you follow my blog, you know that I love a good fairytale retelling. When I read that G.F. Miller’s new novel Glimpsed is a modern-day Cinderella retelling from the perspective of the Fairy Godmother, I knew I had to read it. Charity is a high school student with an unusual and magical gift – she can glimpse a person’s deepest desires and can make their dreams come true. Making people’s wishes come true fills Charity with a sense of joy and purpose, that is, until one of her wish fulfillments ends in disaster. This causes Charity to question everything she has ever done – Is she really helping people or is she setting them up for failure and unhappiness in the long-term? Her feelings of self-doubt aren’t helped at all when she is confronted by Noah, a boy in her class, who says he knows what Charity does and threatens to expose her to her classmates because she ruined his life by making the girl he liked fall in love with someone else.
I really enjoyed this modern spin on the Cinderella story and especially that it focused on the Fairy Godmother who is so firmly in the background of the original tale. I also loved the exploration of whether or not granting a person’s wishes actually leads to a happily ever after. It adds so much more depth to this beloved character who never once questions that granting a wish could have ramifications that she hasn’t considered. I also really liked that even though it’s technically a retelling, Glimpsed still has a unique and fresh feel to it. It’s not just a rehashing of the story we already know.
Charity and Noah are also a huge draw for me. Their relationship starts out in such an antagonistic yet entertaining way. Even though Noah is blackmailing Charity, it soon becomes clear that he’s really just a softie and a sci-fi geek to boot. In short, he’s adorable and even though she kind of wants to strangle him, Charity soon finds herself thinking of him as a friend and then wonders if they could be more than friends. Is a Fairy Godmother allowed to have a happy ending of her own? If you want to know the answer to that question, you’ll definitely want to check out Glimpsed!

Every fairytale has a happy ending. Mostly for the hero and the heroine. But what happens when you're the one helping them achieve that HEA? If you ever wanted to read about the fairy godmother and the one who's granting wishes, this is the book you have to pick up.
Charity is a modern fairy godmother and she gets 'glimpses' of people before she's on her mission to grant them their wishes. She's one of the most popular girls and she doesn't want her secret to be revealed, so when someone seems to have discovered her and threatens to blow her cover, things get serious.
Noah is a nerdy hero, but also someone who will get to know Charity better than anyone else. Along the way they will together work towards unexplained things like her powers, but she also needs to keep her distance , because a fairy godmother doesn't get her own happily ever after..
I enjoyed this one so much!! It was sweet, funny at times, deep at others, overall I would call it adorkable! What I wasn't a fan of was the miscomunication element, which was obvious to me as a reader and yet the character's denial seemed to irritate me at moments. Also, I needed more romance , as I wished it came sooner in the picture.
I think this was a great debut and I will be looking forward to reading more by this author! Recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sweet YA contemporary romance :)

A teen fairy godmother? Sign me up! I really enjoyed the banter between Charity and Noah – even if I have to admit that I identified more with Noah. I loved the sci-fi references. This was a fun, light read, and I'm so lucky to have snagged an ARC. It was just what I needed!

This was like a huge whoomp after honestly like six months of straight fantasy reading. Possibly more. Guilty as charged xD But I can't think of a better way to dive back into contemporary (I think this classifies as that haha)! I guess I'm cheating a little because there is magic...but *cough* regardless. This book was adorable and sweet, but it also had a mysterious and I-will-die-if-I-don't-know-what-happens-next vibe to it. If you feel me. Plus that enemy to lover element that we love. It's kinda crazy how underrated it is haha.
So, the writing: I really enjoyed it! It was contemporary, so it didn't have that artistic feel to it, but it definitely was descriptive and awesome and had me falling into the words. It's in first person present tense, so you get to see inside Charity's head and it honestly felt at times like I was her haha. Not complaining. I love the characters Miller has created, especially Noahh hehe *feels your eyes rolling*. Sadly I'm not a Trekkie, so I didn't get all the references u-u but I still thought that element was golden. Charity is such a cool person, and each of the characters are fun and different—in my humble opinion. I also think the storyline of this book was wonderfully unique. We've seen modern day Cinderella and magic stories, but I've never read a story coming from the fairy godmother! I really adored it.
Eek I can't fangirl about this romance enough baha. Charah? Nority? Yeah, don't leave ship names to me. I honestly haven't read fake-dating-to-falling-in-love romance that much (please tell me that's not what it's called hehe), but I really liked it. There wasn't anything really graphic, only a few shortly described kisses. The entire romance was super cute and fun to read as it developed!
In terms of cussing, there is some. If memory serves, there are uses of a—, b—, d—, and h—. Also a few instances where she'll say "eff", but there aren't any actual f bombs. Though I know the author uses it to make a point, and it wasn't really unbearable, it was just a bit annoying. Still, I think you'll be okay heheh, just thought that was worth mentioning.
So, in retrospect, I'm glad I read this book! It made me laugh, SQUEALL like you don't even know, and cry. It was an adorable romance, but it also sprinkled in some moral ideas like not just believing what's passed on to you and how the things we think will make us happy won't always make us happy. And we love a good moral of the story haha. Hope this review helps you to decide whether or not to read it :) I definitely recommend it if you enjoy fantasy, contemporary, mystery, romance, and all things boss-queen. Also if you love crazy hair colors. Just trust me.

I read an ARC of this via NetGalley, and it was just what I needed. It's a realistic-but-with-a-hint-of-magic teen read where the stakes aren't TOO high, but keep the pages turning.
It's a remix of the Cinderella stories brought to a contemporary high school, where a teenager named Charity lives by her fairy godmother code: when she gets a glimpse of someone's wish of a Happily Ever After (which are realistic for a teenager--no pumpkins or kingdoms here), she follows through. Her "Cindy" gets in on her secret in exchange for her HEA, then once it's completed they part ways.
The downside? Each time Charity has the opportunity to get close to someone while doing her thing, she has to pull away. A commitment to no close friends, no dating, no asking for help or doing the kinds of things that relationships naturally blossom from.
But then in walks someone who has been paying very close attention, and is willing to blackmail her into undoing a HEA that got in between him and the girl he loves. Watching it all get shaken up is both moving and entertaining.
A fun read for anyone who like retellings/remixes, and contemporary teen reads with a hint of magic and a romance side story. (I'd say ages 12 and up.)

Cheeky banter is my life force. The banter in Glimpsed is some of the best I’ve read in a long time. It was *chef’s kiss*
The story itself was fully entertaining and refreshingly original. I would gear this more towards a contemporary audience. While, yes, it’s about a fairy godmother, it doesn’t have a huge fantasy feel. It’s just like if our modern world has a little bit of secret magic mixed into it.
So if you’re like me and enjoy magical realism and contemporary novels, you’ll love this as much as I did. The book has a great narrator and an abundance of Star Trek references!

G.F. Miller writes with heart and wit and a deep commitment to her characters. You will love teen fairy godmother Charity, her spunky grandmother/ magic mentor, Memom, and of course the adorkable Noah. Those eyes, that hair, those spreadsheets!
One of the many things I loved was the hilarious way Charity narrates her own story. This book kept me up past bedtime on several occasions. I read it and then discovered all new layers of humor and sweetness when I read it again (okay, and again). I highly recommend Glimpsed!

A story about fairy godmothers sounds like the best thing ever, right? Well, that’s exactly how I felt about Glimpsed by G.F.Miller. This book had everything I wanted in a YA novel, and so much more. I’m so glad that the books I chose to read at the beginning of 2021 are turning out to be amazing- hope the magic stays with me throughout the year! 💕
Charity comes from a long line of fairy godmothers. By having the ability to “glimpse” into the deepest desires of the people around her, she helps others achieve their dreams, no matter what life throws at her along the way. Charity’s name fits her perfectly-being stubborn and selfless at the same time never looked so good, until I met her! Her sassy attitude made me swoon countless times. Her character had a lot of depth, layered with her struggles with abandonment, commitment, and family relationships. Happily Ever Afters don’t always turn out the way that we want them to, and there’s always more to a story than it meets the eye. Charity had to learn these things the hard way, but I’m so glad that her growth was reflected through her thoughtful actions to fix things. From being a girl obsessed with helping others out to learning how to prioritize her own needs – Charity amazed me in every way possible. 😍
Noah, our male lead was ADORKABLE. :’) He added the perfect, calming balance to Charity’s eventful life. I loved how he made Charity realize her own flaws, and showed her the way to self-love. Their witty banter was literally the best thing ever. I lived for their friendship, and then their blooming romance. The last few chapters made me melt – I NEED MORE! 😭😭😭
It’s hard to believe that Glimpsed is G.F Miller’s debut novel, given how wonderfully she wrote the story! She seamlessly merged real life with magic and gave us a refreshing, modern take on fairytales. I can’t wait to read more from her :’)
It’s only the 6th day of 2021, but I can undoubtedly say that Glimpsed has become one of my favorite YA novels of the year. If you’re looking for a book filled with fun, laughter and drama, definitely pick this one.

A story about fairy godmothers sounds like the best thing ever, right? Well, that’s exactly how I felt about Glimpsed by G.F.Miller. This book had everything I wanted in a YA novel, and so much more. I’m so glad that the books I chose to read at the beginning of 2021 are turning out to be amazing- hope the magic stays with me throughout the year! 💕
Charity comes from a long line of fairy godmothers. By having the ability to “glimpse” into the deepest desires of the people around her, she helps others achieve their dreams, no matter what life throws at her along the way. Charity’s name fits her perfectly-being stubborn and selfless at the same time never looked so good, until I met her! Her sassy attitude made me swoon countless times. Her character had a lot of depth, layered with her struggles with abandonment, commitment, and family relationships. Happily Ever Afters don’t always turn out the way that we want them to, and there’s always more to a story than it meets the eye. Charity had to learn these things the hard way, but I’m so glad that her growth was reflected through her thoughtful actions to fix things. From being a girl obsessed with helping others out to learning how to prioritize her own needs – Charity amazed me in every way possible. 😍
Noah, our male lead was ADORKABLE. :’) He added the perfect, calming balance to Charity’s eventful life. I loved how he made Charity realize her own flaws, and showed her the way to self-love. Their witty banter was literally the best thing ever. I lived for their friendship, and then their blooming romance. The last few chapters made me melt – I NEED MORE! 😭😭😭
It’s hard to believe that Glimpsed is G.F Miller’s debut novel, given how wonderfully she wrote the story! She seamlessly merged real life with magic and gave us a refreshing, modern take on fairytales. I can’t wait to read more from her :’)
It’s only the 6th day of 2021, but I can undoubtedly say that Glimpsed has become one of my favorite YA novels of the year. If you’re looking for a book filled with fun, laughter and drama, definitely pick this one.

oh my.. OH MY 2021 will be a great year .. I can feel it after reading this total cuteness <3 <3
So the story is about Charity who is secretly a fairy godmother who grants wishes because she gets Glimpses from people's desires and they become "Cindies"(from Cinderella).. she keeps this a secret so her reputation doesn't get affected at school, until Noah discovers her secrets and coerced her to help him win the girl of dreams back whom was a previous " Cindie", but as time passes, the fairy godmother will fall for prince charming .. how does that end ?
I really wish if there will be a second book about Hope, Charity's sister since she has an interesting arc .. but the book was amazing as is no need to spoil anything <3 <3 <3

I read this book in ONE day! It kept me totally engaged. I laughed out loud a lot! I absolutely loved the characters. I've never read anything from this author, but I know I will be reading everything I can get my hands on after reading GLIMPSED.
