Kurt Englebrook only makes a brief appearance in the story before meeting a gruesome end. Though it is clear that he was up to no good but not the reason why. Kurt had it all, you would have thought, he was a millionaire, he had just won a court case denying a right of way to walkers through his land, he had a beautiful wife, a couple of sons, faith staff and many years still ahead of him. You only need one enemy to bring you down though. He had definitely got on the wrong side of someone. There ...more

A resident of the island of Jersey is found dead. He’s got enemies and it’s going to be a tough job for DCI Jack Le Claire to sort out the truth. Life on an idyllic island isn’t all it seems. Kelly Clayton is excellent at building tension and throwing in red herrings so that you don’t find out right to the end what has really gone on. I think this could be read alone, but if you’ve read the other three in the series you’ll appreciate the background. You’ll also have some idea what Le Claire has ...more

A brilliant read

Another great book to add to the series. I can’t wait for the next instalment. I feel like I might bump into some of the characters then remember they’re not real!

I was born in Scotland but have lived most of my life in the beautiful Channel Island of Jersey. I live in a house by the sea with my husband and three cats. (I know!)

I have been writing for the last decade and Blood In The Sand is my first published novel. My second book, Blood Ties, was published at the end of November 2016.

I love walking on the beach and reading, reading, and reading.
