After being jilted by the girl he’d hoped to make his wife, Graydon Gaffney vows to stay away from women…all women. Making his way back in a blinding snowstorm to the Lucky Larkspur Mine where women are strictly forbidden, a sobbing voice beckons through the snow. He finds a half-frozen woman. Guiding her back to her cabin, he discovers not only a woman alone but her two sweet children. All efforts to guard his feelings fall by the wayside as the trio captures his heart.

I really enjoyed this story. This one takes place in a favorite place of mine, Baker City, OR.
A miner returning to a mine that Thane Jordan owns is caught in a blizzard as he is riding his horse up the mountain where the mine is. He thinks he hears the cry of some animal and wants to make it back in case wolves or other animals are around. He hears the sound again but realizes that the sound he hears is a woman crying. He is wondering what fool would let a woman out in this storm. He rides in

It's November 1892 and Graydon Gaffney, foreman of the Lucky Larkspur Mine, is trying to make his way home through a snowstorm after a trip to Baker City. Taking a shortcut through the mountain, he comes across a woman sitting in the snow crying. Helping her up and back to her cabin, she invites Grady in to wait out the storm.

Giavanna DeVille's husband left eight months ago looking for a job and never returned. Running out of food and supplies and the cabin in need of repair, Gia finally gives

The story of two lonely people, one with a broken heart and the other broken by her desperate plight and how they manage to give each other hope. The Mantle of "hero" can be easily placed on Graydon "Gaff" Gaffney. Having been spurned by his intended, he rides back to his mine near Baker City, Oregon. He finds a young woman weeping hysterically out in the snow. Giavanna "Gia" DeVille and her two young children have been abandoned and isolated in their mountain cabin for eight months and they are ...more

Shanna Hatfield has once again wrote a Wonderful Christmas story. Gift of Hope, just as the title implies, gives a Gift of Hope reading this book. Gia’s despair is about as bad as it can get, but will she let got and accept the Gift of Hope that Grady so desperately wants to give her?? She may just have to let her pride go for the sake of her heart and the wellbeing of her two precious children, Gwennie and Matty.
Shanna Hatfield can write soul touching stories and her characters come to life in

This is a well written story, about a woman and two children - her husband rode off and has not come back. Winter is coming on and a man who has been turned down hears her crying in the snow and goes to find out if he can help. Even though she is married, he wants to help her and the children. I enjoyed how Shanna Hatfield wove her story and characters - the two kids were so precious.

Page turning holiday historical romance that no matter how dark things get, the Lord is always with us, providing a light. A story of hope between Graydon Gaffney and Giavanna DeVille with a twist and turn plot to find a missing husband, and a believable resolution. Book 2 in the Inspiring Gifts of Christmas series by talented author Shanna Hatfield.
