This was a fun sweet story that made me say... aww! I love these feel-good small town stories that I like to call cozy romances, and when they’re set in Cornwall it’s even better. Lovable quirky characters and a delightful quaint setting. Anna has a good life. A job as a project manager and a nice house with lovely housemates. Even though her boyfriend Giles calls her babes *cringe* he is still... tolerable. But when she receives the news that she has unexpectedly inherited a cottage in Cornwall ...more
What a poignant and beautiful romantic read. I love reading about Polkerran, Cornwall and about fresh starts. Cornwall brings Anna great memories of long summers, and happy childhood memories. Her aunt Meg passes away and Anna gets a surprise inheritance. Anna in desperate need of a fresh start pack up her life and moves to Cornwall.

This is my first book with Cass Grafton and I really enjoyed the easeness of her writing, and the lovable characters in a place filled with good memories. I really

I loved this book! As always Cass Grafton's writing draws you immediately into a heart-warming tale you'll not easily forget. I loved the spectacular Cornish settings that were so real I could smell the sea, and the set of characters that inhabit this magical place are warm, funny, intriguing and memorable. I want more Cornish books please, Cass-a whole series to add to this truly excellent romantic comedy! ...more

It’s not that often that I take to Twitter when I finish reading to tell the author (and everyone else!) what a perfect afternoon I’ve had, enjoying their book so very much. But this book was just so thoroughly gorgeous, and so well written – with tremendous warmth, lovely touches of gentle humour, quite wonderful characters, a setting I really enjoyed, a few perfectly handled emotional moments, and such a lovely romance at its centre.

Had the privilege to read this before publication. The story is poignant with a likable heroine who inherits a cottage by the sea. Just in time too, as her love life and career need an infusion of inspiration. Moving back to a sleepy seaside place that meant so much to her in her youth just might be what Annie needs to focus on herself and reevaluate what she wants out of life. Weighty decisions for someone in her late twenties but that felt authentic, and I liked Annie and all her insecurities ...more

As ever with Cass‘ writing, she paints pictures with her words. In this charming story, she takes you on a wonderful journey along with her central character, Anna. Cass’ writing draws you in so you can imagine being there with Anna ... every tremulous step of the way! Living in Cornwall, the story has a particular resonance with me & I loved every word, so much so that I resented any & every interruption!
I don’t want to spoil your anticipation by giving any details of the plot, but if you’ve e

I loved this story with its ups and downs. The descriptions of the area make it come alive so that I could almost smell the sea.

I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging and heartwarming read from the first page to the last.
Anna Redding spent her childhood being brought up be relatives that did not seem to care too much for her after being orphaned when she was a baby. Anna's main times of happiness where when she went to stay with a family friend, Aunt Meg. Anna spent her long summers there in the small village of Polkerran.

Anna Redding is at something of a crossroads in her life, but then, fate has a funny old way of interfering, and before she knows it, after an unexpected legacy, Anna is soon heading to the pretty seaside resort of Polkerran, in Cornwall, to take up residence in a gorgeous seaside property that once belonged to a much loved family friend. Anna soon finds herself embraced by the Polkerran people, and being in the heart of this quirky community is what makes this book so special. There's such an a ...more

Anna Redding was orphaned as a baby and was raised by her cousin in a cold and unloving home. During the summer, Anna would spend her time with an elderly family friend, Aunt Meg in Polkerran, Cornwall.

Anna loves house sharing with her 2 friends, Lauren and Georgia in Harrogate but is getting fed up with her relationship with her boyfriend, Giles. When she finds out that Aunt Meg has died and left her the house in Cornall and some money, Anna packs up and moves down to Polkerran.

A young woman, a Cornish village, and romantic memories are all set up. This book has all the ingredients of a delightful and uplifting read from a clever writer who knows exactly what details to include to establish a setting or character. The dialogue is very authentic, especially in the case of one hard to please character, as it reflects very natural and well observed speech. While some of the the characters are less than likable, there are also warm and supportive people shown, reflecting a ...more

What a wonderful tale of love and the search for life’s meaning.

I enjoyed this book from the moment I began the first chapter. Anna Redding is a wonderfully complex, well-drawn character. Orphaned as a child, Anna was raised by unloving cousins. Her only escape had been the summers she was allowed to live with an old family friend who lived in the small Cornish resort town of Polkerran Village. Aunt Meg, as Anna knew her, loved her as the child she never had. When Aunt Meg died, Anna learns that

These are my initial thoughts upon finishing the book, and will be fully published on my blog

The Cottage in a Cornish Grove was a great read about found family, loss, and finding your place in the world. Anna wasn't really sure how she fits in her world, with her roommates and her boyfriend. She needs a fresh start to her dull life. And so, when she h

Anna is a character who is easy to like. Her less than idyllic childhood made bearable by the summers she spent in Cornwall, with her surrogate aunt. Careerwise she's successful, but her romantic relationships don't live up to the romantic novels she loved to escape into. An unexpected bequest has her leaving her old life behind, including her career, friends and mercenary boyfriend. She hopes to recapture the happiness she knew during the Summer's in the Cornish cove.

This story is like a warm h

Straight away I could see that I was going to enjoy The Cottage in a Cornish Cove. The book starts with Anna up in North Yorkshire in a bit of a rut with her love life. She longs for something else. When an unexpected letter arrives from Aunt Meg’s solicitor in Cornwall, she knows where she should go – back to Cornwall. Where she had the best childhood holiday memories.

Anna gives up her job and housemates and moves her whole life to Cornwall. To a little village called Polkerran, where everyone

What better to read on a cold February weekend than a heart warming tale of hope and inspiration!
Anna seems to be enjoying a full life. She has a job she doesn't hate, a home with friends who all seem to have active social lives and are not crowding each other, Anna even has a boyfriend who hasn't been too much trouble, even if he seems like sort of a mooch.
So when she hears that a beloved aunt has passed away, her biggest regret is that she hadn't visited her often enough in recenet years. Life

To state the obvious, I love everything, Cornwall! And as a young child, my parents took my siblings and I there every summer from our home in Essex, and even though I live over 3000 miles away, you can bet if there is a book set in Cornwall, I’m going to read it. So when The Cottage in a Cornish Cove came up I jumped at the opportunity to read it, but I had no idea just how much I would come to love this book.

So the story is about Anna, who parents died when she was 18 months old and who’s cou

Clear your calendar the day you start this beautiful book! You will not be able to put it down. You have been warned.
In The Cottage in a Cornish Cove, Cass Grafton grabs you from Chapter One and takes you on fabulous trip. She paints a vivid picture of Polkerran and its charming inhabitants that makes you feel like you are actually there. Equal parts humor, mystery and of course, romance - I didn’t want the story to end.
Anna is a realistic and relatable character and it’s easy to root for her to

This is such an enjoyable read which takes you back to Cornwall to Polkerran which is beautifully evoked. The story has warmth and is uplifting- just right for a cold, windy February day. Anna ia a likeable character who unexpectedly inherits a cottage in Polkerran which leads her to change her life. With memories of long summer holidays spent there in her childhood, she finds a sense of home and belonging.

A lovely, heart-warming contemporary romance with a setting that is a character on its own. Anna Redding inherits a cottage from an elderly family friend, with an expectation that she lives there. So she packs up her things and goes to Cornwall, where she is reunited with Alex, who she used to have a crush on when a girl. In between her job as an assistant to a reclusive writer, Oliver, she sets up a B&B business at the cottage. Then things start to go wrong and Anna wonders if she will have to ...more

What can I say? I very nearly read the book in one sitting. Just couldn't put it away. The characters were so real to me and I was feeling all the love, heartache, tears and laughter with Anna, the female lead of the novel.

I just couldn't put it away. Being a fan of classic English literature I adored all these little lines at the beginning of every chapter hinting on what's to come in the next few lines.

All characters are utterly believable and this brilliant story makes me long for a visit t

I loved the setting of this book! The village of Polkerran in Cornwall, sounds so cozy and quaint. The ideal place to live, with stunning views and caring neighbors. Anna and Oliver are both great characters. They just fit together so well. I enjoyed their camaraderie, their joy for each other and their back and forth banter. Aunt Meg would have been proud, how it all came together in the end! I adored the animals in this book too; Dougal, Thumper and Heathcliff brought their own fun to this boo ...more

Absolutely wonderful!

I loved this story. The whole way through I was captivated and intrigued by the mystery surrounding Anna and her return to Polkerran for good. So many times I thought I had the story worked out and then there would be another twist. The idyllic location was a beautiful backdrop to the fascinating story being told. There were little touches of heroes and heroines from old classics which I loved. I absolutely adored the ending, it was perfect. If you want to be entertained by

The Cottage in a Cornish Cove is a 'starting again' story. It features Anna, who inherits a cottage and has to decide what to do with her new life. She is an appealing, relatable character whom it is easy to like, all the more so because she has lessons to learn along the way. This heartwarming tale includes a mystery that gradually unfolds and the story provides not just a wonderful sense of the Cornish setting (trust me - you will want to spend your next holiday in Polkerran), but also a warm ...more

This was a wonderful escapism read for me. I loved the setting of this book which takes place in Polkerran, Cornwall. It was heart-warming with a chance of real love for the main character. I loved some of the other characters in this book, too. I wanted to transport myself to this quaint village by the sea. It looks like this will be a series. I hope there will be another book to go back to this delightful place.
