I have read three of the five books in this series and have enjoyed each of them. I enjoy the author’s writing style and the stories are well-plotted, interesting, and fast-paced. The characters are always well-developed and fleshed out. All of the books I have read so far could easily have been 5-star reads except for the very modern terminology, phraseology, and conversation-style which just drags me right out of the story.

Taylor once again manages to grab my attention right from the start and capture my heart with such amazing characters. She brings in just the perfect mix of raw emotion, physical attraction, and intriguing situations.
This is a series I highly recommend and hope everybody gives it a read.

Very interesting. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the cathedrals scattered across the country of England. Erica had really done her research, not only with the countryside, but also with the codemakers who had a hard time staying alive in turbulent times. It was hard for people to adjust to the changes that occurred for the loser and for the winners. A lot of frustration probably resulted in strikes against perceived enemies. I am sure this still occurs in today's world.

From the very first page, I was enthralled and it only got better! To say the hero made an unexpected entrance is putting it mildly! Miss Vivian Burke and her mother, Margaret, Baroness Kenswick were living in the groundskeepers cottage of there once estate, because that was all that was left at Kenswick Abbey. It had burned to the ground a couple of years ago and claimed her father and it was just her and her mother left. They had gotten word that the Abbey had been l

I am not a writer and never could be. I could never write like these authors do. With that being said, I don’t write great reviews. If I liked or loved a book; I would just say “Love this book. Get it” or something along those lines. :) I am trying to be better about my reviews because I noticed some authors do actually see them.

Having read over 370 books last year alone and hundreds and hundreds of authors over many years, there is only about 15-20 that I truthfully can say are my all time fav

What a pleasant surprise. I can honestly say when I started reading this book - I didn't expect that. This is my first time reading anything from Erica Taylor, and I was blown away. In regency romance and historical romance in general, I have personally found that more often than naught - the plot and historical aspect of the story gets overshadowed by the romance. I understand why that is the case, what we are all usually reading for is the romance after all. But what truly makes a book enjoyab ...more

I have read all five books of this series in five days. I will read anything this author writes
This book was funny, made me think, made me cheer for each of them . Made me catch a continuing glimpse of the other family members. Made me wish for another book about this family. Made me glad to read another is waiting for me.

Not Your Typical Regency, But in a Good Way!

This was definitely different from the Regency I was expecting! But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like it when writers surprise me. The cover looks like one that would be on any Regency, though perhaps they look a little more smiley and happy than is typical. But what we have inside is a Regency suspense, almost a thriller at times. It starts off as almost any other Regency, although perhaps a little more humorously as the newly minted earl is

This is intriguing, suspenseful, entertaining and romantic. After Luke was given an Earldom, and then forcefully retired as an agent, he's ordered to go inspect his properties, get the Earldom in order and get married. When he goes to inspect the first property, he meets Vivian, who happens to be the daughter of the last man that held the Kenswick title, although he was not an Earl. After she shows him around the Abbey and tells her about her life, he decides she would make a good wife. They com ...more

The Spy's Convenient Bride by Erica Taylor. This is book 5 in The Macalisters Series. This is the story of Vivian Burke and Luke Macalister. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Luke has been awarded the title of the Earl of Kenswick. Luke who was a spy doesn't know what to do or think with this new title at first. Vivian father was the Baron Kenswick who has since past leaving her and her mother. Vivian doesn't have good thoughts or feeling for the new Earl and it only changes sl

This is my first time reading a book by Erica Taylor and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised! This is of course a romance, but it also has a good dose of intrigue and adventure which I had a lot of fun reading! There were many unexpected plot twists and I thoroughly enjoyed the story all the way through. Ms. Taylor did an excellent job with descriptions and I could truly "see" what was happening in my mind's eye. The characters were well defined and I enjoyed getting to know them throu ...more

The Spy's Convenient Bride is the fifth book in The Macalisters series and the first book I have read by this author.

I really enjoyed this historical romantic suspense story. The characters are charming and well developed. The storyline is well written and engaging, with a marriage of convenience, danger, espionage, and intrigue. Is it possible to turn a 6-month marriage commitment into something permanent?

The author has obviously done a lot of research into the era and espionage that may have o

Book five in The Macalisters series a well written story and the first book I have read in this series, I will be reading the rest of the books. This is a new Author to me. This is Luke Macalister an ex agent of the Crown who becomes the new Earl of Kenswick which was Miss Vivian Burke and her Mother's home before her father died. Luke offers her a deal—he will hand over the deed to her childhood home in exchange for a six-month marriage of convenience. The story gets really interesting after th ...more

I would like to thank the author for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Luke has been given the Kenswick title for services to the crown. Now retired he longs for the life he had. Vivian is living in reduced circumstances after her fathers' death. Marriage will help to show that Luke is responsible and ready to get back to his job, Vivian has been promised her childhood home restored.

Taylor's stories are always entertaining and well researched. The history of spying and th

This was really entertaining. I thought it would simply be a light read, but there was a lot of adventure as well as the romance. Luke’s family is really fun, and makes me want to read the other books in this series to find out more about them (this is book 5). Definitely be sure to read the Author’s Note at the end, it’s really interesting the amount of research she put into this book, and the various things that were actually true in history.

I enjoyed this new "Macalisters" story! This is a suspenseful and sometimes thrilling adventure for an unlikely pair. Luke and Vivian are great! This regency read is unexpected and fun. It's a witty and intriguing story that just sucks you in until the very end. I love the chemistry and passion these two ignite in each other as the race to save so much.
