Beyond Credence is a wonderful book by Manhar Sharma . It took me awhile to fully understand the book and grasp it relevance to our everyday life. The book reminds us of the things which we seem to have taken for granted and have forgotten about the alternative way which exists in our world . We all are running in an invisible rat race in which no one has achieved true success.
The book is basically about a girl who has just completed her schooling and is looking forward to her college admissions

In today's time when our generation is rapidly adopting scientific technologies and moving towards a digital way-of-living, we are at the same time, drifting from our ancient culture and ideologies. Vedas, the oldest ancient scripture and the very foundation of knowledge is forgotten somewhere. The number of people who literally hold a good knowledge of vedas apart from the names has been drastically falling. Even in the school curriculums the brief information has also been neglected.

Excellent manifestation of the ideas related to education of Vedas and its eventuality in proposing the reality of situation regarding this. Enlightens the reader about the vastness and authority of the Vedas and the knowledge imbibed in this. Clearly gives a picture about the today's dilemmas of oneself related to choosing a career of choice and pressure from family. Overall communicative in order to emphasize on the struggle and enthusiasm of Apeksha side by side. Supporting characters are qui ...more

I picked up this book just like that and later on I realised that it was the one I was looking for since long. I will briefly summarise the blurb. I finished the book in a single day. It’s a quick read. The protagonist of the story is Apeksha. She is appearing for the 12th board exams and as the story proceeds, she opted for the college. She is fascinated and wanted to explore her career in “Vedas and ancient literature”. Basically I loved the concept as it’s based on Rig vedas and Upanishad. Th ...more

"Beyond The Credence" is a story of a girl name Apeksha who unlike other students of her age wants to pursue vedic education. The whole book revolves around her struggle to get admission in a proper veda vidyapeeth and to convince her family to encourage her in that process.

The only thing that stopped me from rating it 5 was the grammar at few places.
Nevertheless it’s an amazing book that binds the reader till the end. Really appreciate the choice of the topic, Vedas, which have always attracted my attention and of course is India’s wealth.
Will highly recommend everyone to read it once!!

Not to be read for entertainment.
Only a few books like this one come up, and I love talking about them because they are worthy.
Less I have heard about a book that talks about challenges in starting a career in a different field, specifically a rare field.
Here we have a story of a girl who is inclined over studies of scriptures.
Interest in scriptures is praised everywhere but having a career in it, it is questionable by many.
It is not because of the sense of insecurity but more particularly it is

It's a short story. The protagonist here is named as Apeksha, a very meritorious and confident young girl. The main theme of the book is to promote Vedic education. Apeksha despite of being a student of science background wanted to pursue higher studies in Vedas, Upanishads and ancient literature. She has developed interest into it by reading articles on internet and books related to it. She is very much ambitious to full fill her dream to learn on that very concept. But her f

Beyond the Credence is a story about how an ambitious girl "Apeksha" finds all the answers to her queries by going back to her roots and reading Vedas. Today, when us Indians are busy fantasizing western ideology and their culture, this books reminds you how our culture and our sacred text is still relevant and how we can go back to Vedas to find a direction in our lives as Apeksha did. The author has done a very good job in deciphering the complex Vedas and making it simple for readers like me. ...more

I'm not going to reveal the story for you all because that's precisely the essence of the book. I might as well talk about the importance of the self belief that we all should have and also the fact that we shouldn't be worried about the choices we make in life. We shouldn't be afraid of pursuing our dreams.
The book describes these things with the help of a girl n his father. The way it has been demonstrated will connect to all of us as we all have gone through this phase once in our lives.

Well, the whole plot is very interesting and good in content to hit us certain things we are not aware of as an Indian. What I really like about this book is that it works out wonderfully in recounting the importance of sanskrit in our past as well as in our today's life. Despite some plot holes, characters are well described, giving the readers an insight into Apeksha's liberal upbringings. I felt the writing was really good in some places but somehow the story is lack of detailing. Overall, it ...more

I've also devoted immense amount of time to research about vedic educational system which had been imbibed in our everyday lives passed on via gurukuls hundreds of years ago. This book- Beyond the Credence, is a simple book in all terms. It is a compilation of the social pressure and the mental struggles experienced by a girl named Apeksha.
