Mastering German Vocabulary: A Thematic Approach
Approximately 5,000 words are presented in 41 separate categories, including politics, military terms, business terms, communications terms, medical terms, scientific terms, household terms, and dozens more. English-speaking readers will find ready help in translating German words and phrases sometimes too specialized to be found in ordinary alphabetically arranged bilingual dictionaries. When learning a language, one of the best ways to expand your vocabulary is to learn words that are applicable to your profession or that are in categories in which you have a personal interest. This is a great book for doing just that. Being a veterinary technologist, I was very pleased with the detailed section on medical terms and also the "Animal World" section. I also learned a plethora of words related to literature and art. I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to expand their German vocabulary. Es ist wunderbar!!!
