This would be a great book to put on your Halloween list this year! Small children will enjoy the stories of pumpkin carving and making apple pie. Lessons on friendship and working together are presented in a fun way. Art is 'kawaiish' with vibrant colors - will look for other books in this series!

LET'S BEE THANKFUL is a cute, fall-themed graphic novel for early readers. Bumble, Bee, and Froggy are back with some new stories, perfect for fall. In the first, Bumble and Bee are checking things off their list, but they cannot find a pumpkin to decorate. When they go to Froggy, they discover a pumpkin in his place, thinking he was turned into a pumpkin. To their surprise, he is over to the side and gives them their own pumpkins to decorate.

In the next, they are baking apple pie, but Froggy is all out of butter. Bumble and Bee go to get some, but they get distracted along the way. Can they remember what they needed to make the pie? In the final story, Froggy is settling down for winter, but Bumble and Bee surprise him to keep him company, complete with their very loud musical instruments. Froggy isn't sure about this, but eventually decides that everything is better with friends.

What I loved: These silly stories are sure to make young readers giggle with Bumble and Bee's antics and joy. Each is a fun ode to the fall season that will charm early readers as they explore each page. As a graphic novel, much of the story is told through the illustrations, and the book does a great job of capturing these fun characters throughout the story with lots of bright colors and cute details. The panels and flow are easy to follow, and there is plenty (though not too much) to read for learning readers. It's a fun book for reluctant or older starting readers to really sink their teeth into and enjoy.

The lovely ending and messages about helping others (even when you don't quite get it right) and the joy of spending time with those you love are a really sweet touch on this silly graphic novel. The last page of the book also includes a tutorial on how to draw Bee, so children can create their own stories.

Final verdict: A great early reading graphic novel, LET'S BEE THANKFUL is a silly and fun read about fall activities with Bumble, Bee, and Froggy, perfect for the youngest of independent readers.

Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.

The last book in this cute series focuses on fall! In the first story, Bumble and Bee want to paint pumpkins but where can they find pumpkins? They make a wish - and oh no! Did their turn their friend Froggy into a pumpkin? Then Froggy decides to bake an apple pie but - oh no! He forgot to buy butter. Don't worry! Bumble and Bee will get some! If they can remember what to get. And the last chapter is all about Froggy planning to hibernate alone for the winter. But of course his friends can't let him be all alone!

This is a great series for beginning readers. As usual, there is a drawing lesson and a few prompts at the end for further discussion. How would you paint your pumpkin?

Bumble and Bee are so thankful for their friend Froggy, that they want to help Froggy with all of the winter tasks like painting pumpkins, making pie, and preparing a hideout to hibernate in all winter.

Froggy doesn't seem nearly as grumpy in this book as I remember from previous stories (which was actually a little disappointing). Still, this is a cute enough series for beginning readers, even if I like the Crabby, Hedgehog, and Unicorn and Yeti Acorn series a bit more.

Bumble, Bee, and Froggy do autumn activities together like decorate pumpkins, make pie, and get ready to hibernate.

Another fun trio of stories with these friends. Froggy actually does things off his lily pad in this one! Shocking! Though the title mentions being thankful, there's no actual holidays mentioned at all in this. A humorous little collection of fall graphic novel stories for beginning readers.

Bumble and Bee are enjoying Fall. They want to get a pumpkin but can't find one. Their friend Froggy helps them. Two other adventures are also included. Burach uses a light humorous style to bring these characters to life.

This picture book features three more stories about Bumble, Bee, and Froggy.
* “Let’s Paint Pumpkins!”
* “Froggy’s Famous Apple Pie”
* “Froggy’s Winter Hideout”

The title of this collection is misleading. It is fall-themed but not Thanksgiving-themed.

In “Let’s Paint Pumpkins,” Bumble and Bee want to paint pumpkins.

In “Froggy’s Famous Apple Pie,” Bumble and Bee volunteer to get butter for Froggy.

In “Froggy’s Winter Hideout,” Bumble and Bee don’t want to keep Froggy company when he hibernates all winter.

Bumble and Bee aren’t Frog and Toad, or Elephant and Piggie, or even Squid and Octopus. Instead, they are similar to Snail and Worm. These stories about the friendship between Bumble, Bee, and Froggy will appeal to readers who enjoy slapstick humor.

The illustrations are done in comic strip style panels.

Kait read this to me on a hot summer day, but it was a good story. It tied so well into things we’ve been talking about though, with the hibernating frog which came up when talking about the life cycle of frogs in French class.

Kait’s favourite part was when they wished for the pumpkin and then they thought frog was the pumpkin. Then when it was almost winter and frog went into the hole, Kait thought it was funny that he didn’t like it at the start but he was happy after the hot cocoa and marshmallows!

2023 - our last of the series, which is too bad because the lines divide so nicely into three parts for our read alouds.

2025 - only French this Thanksgiving!
