Good but a bit slow
The slow pace of this story works very well in the novel because it ramps up at the end and has a lot of action and adventure. But when you cut the story up to make these shorter sections of the novel you sometimes get a very slow story and it makes the whole thing drag.

There was another new character introduction in the last chapter of volume 8 and the continuation of that aligns with the path of the satou group, heading towards the Forrest of giants.
With a demon now being suspected in a plot nearby there is more build up to an inevitable battle soon in up coming volumes.
