Waar gaat het heen, dit enigszins droeve verhaal, omdat je als lezer natuurlijk al snel aan het begin weet dat het meisje geadopteerd moet zijn. Stap voor stap, dankzij allerlei dieren, komt het meisje bij een weeshuis. En daar zit een droef jongetje dat zo verlangt naar dat wat het meisje heeft...
