A desperate widow in need of a helping hand… even a cybernetic one.

Hattie came to Mars with high hopes. Hopes that she and her husband would be able to claim a plot of land, to create a home, perhaps even to start a family - all of the things that were now impossible on a troubled Earth. Instead, she’s lost everything, everything except the land, and in order to keep her

The only way is Mars

When not only Essex but the entire planet is overcrowded, over priced, over polluted and with the death of her mother, Hattie is in serious trouble. A surprise “arrangement” takes our intrepid Hattie to Mars. Can a Mars a day keep the debts away? (hands up anyone who remembers that slogan?)
But the grass is not always greener (well, we are talking Mars here ) and now our Hattie has even bigger problems....
Enters....Cyborg M-231 aka Morgan.

Enjoyed the world-building of how Mars might be terra-formed. It felt very realistic. Good story and characters, too! Great cyborgs in this story.

Another 3 rounded up installment to this series for me.

These continue to be novel and fun, now with light shone on a larger plot unfolding in the background. What is GenCon up to? And how are they planning to accomplish it so quickly? I'm sure we'll find out in the coming books, but for now we'll have to let our imaginations run wild. The Good, The Bad, and the Cyborg is another consistent offering from Ms. Phillips and everything you would expect from her writing: short and light, nothing too

Hattie came to Mars with the hope of starting a new life. Instead, everything seems to be falling apart and she might lose her home too if she can’t find someone else to help her. M-231, also known as Morgan, has been entranced with Hattie since she arrived on Mars but has never made a move or talked to her. When he finds out she needs a partner to keep her land he offers to help. Together these two must overcome their pasts, the environment, and a dangerous enemy.

This was a nice quick read. I

Every one of Honey's books that I have read has been great and this one is no exception. I loved the tough, strong, enduring Hattie and then protective and passionate Morgan. They were able to heal their past wounds and move forward together, overcoming Mars' harsh landscape and sneaky Gencom. I can't wait for the next one to see what unfolds

An easy to read, quick-paced addiction, Hattie and Morgan were certainly worth losing some sleep over. What seems to start off as a partnership of convenience soon turns into more, and the story is beautiful. Hattie needs Morgan but he needs her just as much. The story grows steadily, beginning with a fantastic story about settling on Mars that morphs into an intriguing mystery that runs the same race with the developing love story. I read this in one sitting, it was hard to put down once I ...more

Very enjoyable quick read. Good developing story arc, which should lead into the next in this series.

I have SUCH a soft spot for cyborgs who are supposed to be emotionless machines but who really have ALL THE FEELS for something. You know, like Morgan has for Hattie. He might not think he should have/could have emotions for this woman, but he very much does and I am 100% here for that.

As for Hattie, when an opportunity to escape her situation back on Earth presented itself, she took it even though it meant marriage to a man she only cared for as a friend. His death doesn't come as a huge shock,

This was a quick, easy read and the first book of a new series. Hattie and her husband have one of the best claims on Mars. Primarily because her husband comes from a wealthy family and works for the company that wants to expand it's Mars holdings. Soon after Hattie becomes a widow she's encouraged to sell her claim, then officials try to steal her claim for not having a partner. Cyborg M-231 a.k.a. Morgan has been attracted to Hattie since he first saw her. He volunteers to be her

Hattie and Morgan love love

Okay I really enjoyed Clint and Jo's story and you made me fall in love with cowboys all over again. I couldn't wait for Morgan's story and I have to say I'm not disappointed. You have managed to pull some of my favorite things together in one terrific romance, Love, passion, cyborgs cowboys and SyFy. I love all of it. Hattie is adopted and took care of her ailing mother for .any years until she died. But when she died she lost her front controlled housing. He goes

I never knew I needed some hot cyborg rangers until finishing this book! It was my first read of February as well as a new-to-me author and it didn't disappoint! It was an exciting read, I really enjoyed the story building and I loved each of the characters. I normally cringe at the whole insta-love thing, but this one was really enjoyable and cute. I can't wait to see what else the author has planned for this series!

This isn't what I expected when I read "on Mars", but I can't say I was disappointed either. Hattie is one of those "glass half full" type characters and that is usually annoying, but her character struggles, it makes her character more realistic. My curiosity is burning to hear what the story is on the Judge, but Morgan's story was just sad. I found the whole story interesting. The characters are great with completely different personalities. The
This series is only two books in--one prequel and the first book--but I can't wait for the next. It sounds like a wacky mix, kind of like putting spaghetti on your scrambled eggs, but the mix of cowboys and cyborgs is BAD ASS!! Who else would have the balls to police Mars in the beginning of the colonization.

The prequel does a solid job of laying the foundation of the world and its boundaries. It is full of sweetness and a real sense of beginning something new (oh, yeah, and hot sex!). The

The books in the series aren't long, but they are entertaining.

There was a reason Hattie and her husband had the claim they had. All I'm going to say is what Morgan and Hattie discovered wasn't what I expected.

I loved it. I recently discover this author and have liked everything I have read so far.
This tells the story of Hattie, a down on her luck woman who can’t get a break. She loses her mother, her home and is offered the chance to go to Mars - she just has to marry her well to do boss. Life changed again for her and she is in need of a partner for her homestead. Morgan, who has been watching Hattie since she arrived, steps up to be plate.

If you haven't read the prequel (High Plains Cyborg), stop right now and grab it! You'll thank me for that later.

Harriet's mother has died, and she's in a bind over her apartment. Since she was adopted, the twisted rules of inheritance stop her from keeping it. Earth's overcrowding and high prices mean she will be out on the street within the month. Fortunately, her manager comes to her rescue. He has to go to Mars on business and needs a wife to go along. She agrees because she trusts him after

Exciting story full of action, danger and steamy romance

This is such an exciting read, full of all the drama, danger, quirky characters, hot characters and determined characters you could want....well, and the 'bad' characters ;P I loved the journey that Morgan and Hattie went on to find an HEA as well as protecting their claim. The inclusion of the couple from book one was fab and added a great depth to this story. I love getting updates on previous characters! Add in the new ones, and you have

I loved the characters and watching them grow together, they were well written and went well together. I found this book amazing with great word building making me feel apart of the story and watching it unfold in front of me. I am really hoping that this book, along with a short prequel, are the beginning of a long series of books by Honey Phillips. While no writing is really completely original at this point, I found this book to be really different from anything that I have ever read. In this very wild western set on Mars Honey gives us a rollicking great tale. Fun characters, intriguing mystery, hot sex and compelling writing all combined to entertain. I highly recommend this book.

I'm so happy Honey Phillips decided to write cyborgs! The Good, the Bad, and the Cyborg is book 1 in the Cyborgs on Mars series. Being a fan of old westerns, I love the titles of these. Have you seen Lost in Space on Netflix? I imagined the setting on Mars very similar to that. I was immediately drawn in by Hattie's desperate plight. She lost her husband and was going to have to give up her claim if she didn't find a partner. She would have lost all of her hard work. Morgan had been waiting for ...more

I've read Honey Phillips before so I had high expectations of her latest offering and she didn't disappoint.
Old West on Mars with some government conspiracy thrown in.
I'm a no spoilers reviewer so I won't go into detail about the plot but as this is part of a series I have a feeling that this won't be the last we hear of Hattie and Morgan or what's going on behind the scenes.

Morgan and Hattie

This novel is just precious! Morgan and Hattie are quite the remarkable couple . This standalone story is the first in the series, even though Clint and Jo preceded this book. Love The Cyborgs and their human mates. The Books are insightful, interesting, and have very good plots, characters, settings, and storylines. Keep up the good work. Will definitely be purchasing this novel!

I have to say, I grew up on "spaghetti westerns" (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is one of the first movies I can recall seeing). I also loved Firefly (the series), there is something very real showing new settlements being similar to the old west. This series, Cyborgs on Mars brings me all of those warm and fuzzy feelings for these reasons. The characters are well written with plots that bring to mind those childhood memories. If you are a fan of the above (Firefly or old westerns) or even the ...more

With cyborgs on Mars - where I want to be!
Yes, Mars definitely has both the good and the bad. As for the cyborgs - they’re the best! Harriet’s dismal beginnings have not suppressed her enthusiasm for a new start on Mars. She’s well prepared; studied hard, worked hard, and the claim is prospering. She is brimming with entrepreneurial ideas that I’d love to see come to fruition. Faced with another of those bad guys, Ranger M-231 comes to her rescue. Yes, one sexy cyborg is just what the doctor

Cyborg cowboys...WOW

I would have never thought that cyborg cowboys on Mars would be so fascinating to read about but I the possibilities are endless.

We are introduced to more characters in this book 2 which hopefully means that there are more books to come. You may be wondering as I said this is book 2 and the title reads book 1 in the series, but there is a prequel book "High Plains Cyborg" which first introduced us to Clinton, Jo and Morgan. It's not exactly necessary to read the prequel if

I enjoyed the book, it definitely held my attention, even though I was tired & should have went to bed. The world building was decent, I didn't feel lost, though there were a few places that could have been improved a bit. I liked the main characters, Harriet/Hattie & Morgan/M-231, they were interesting and had me hooked as soon as they got together in the book. I wish their whole romance would have taken a tad longer to develop, though. I realize he had more time to "fall" for her, ...more

What a sweet romance. Both Hattie and Morgan have hard times in their past. Morgan was turned into a cyborg by the military against his will when he was wounded and shipped off to help police the new planet. Hattie was left in financial straights when her mother passed away and she accepted an marriage invitation from her employer who planned to move to the new frontier world. Her husband dies and she is threatened with the loss of her claim unless she finds a partner when Morgan steps in and ...more

I love how this author is building an exciting new world on Mars. The mix of western cyborg cowboys and mechanical horses with a mind of their own is so interesting. Definitely keeps the reader interested in the story. I have enjoyed all the characters so far and sure I will enjoy the coming ones. There were very few (maybe 1 or 2 ) grammatical errors which I liked very much. There's nothing more frustrating than to try to read a book that has so many grammatical errors it makes it hard to read ...more
