A thrilling collection of Alex Kava's five Maggie O'Dell novels, A Perfect Evil, Split Second, The Soul Catcher, At the Stroke of Madness, and A Necessary Evil, plus a bonus title, One False Move.
ALEX KAVA IS A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR of the critically acclaimed Maggie O’Dell series and a new series featuring former Marine, Ryder Creed and his K9 dogs. Her novel Stranded was awarded both a Florida Book Award and the Nebraska Book Award. She is a member of the Nebraska Writers Guild and International Thriller Writers. Kava divides her time between Omaha, Nebraska and Pensacola, Florida.
I love the Maggie O'Dell series, and I love the fact that Alex Kava is not afraid to take serious risks with her characters, even when it might not be popular with her fans. She does what's true for Maggie, and I sincerely admire that!
Alex Kava is one of my favorite authors. Love all of her work! I started reading her books back in January of 2006. Every book of hers that I've read has kept me wanting more. Maggie Odell is a very likable and interesting character. It's very refreshing to read novels based on strong female characters.
What a terrific bundle of police mysteries. Many late nights were spent trying to get to the next chapter, then the next book. I think I may be oxygen deprived from holding my breath while I quickly read to discover what would happen next. Put on your seat belt, you are going to need it!
Four books in one. Of course I liked some of the stories more than others. Already have the next in the series checked out! Maggie O'Dell is a very likable character and her interaction with Tully is fun.
Ms Kava must have a pretty hefty contract with Pepsi. All the amazingly fit agents seem to need Diet Pepsi to function. I would like to add that there are other newsworthy broadcasters besides Fox. Keep the great plots coming and skip the ads.
Alex Kava is an amazing author! I just love all of her books, looking forward to her next one Maggie O Dell and Ryder Creed are wonderful main characters and I just love his amazing dog Grace !
I am new to Alex Kava and her Maggie O'Dell heroine, an FBI profiler and forensic expert. I usually avoid female authors in this genre (with the exception of Patricia Cornwell in the past and still Sue Grafton) because they always work in someone's thighs along the way. The author's name "Alex" threw me off. As I was reading along, there came those thighs. I skipped to the "About the Author" section and, sure enough, I had a female author on my hands. The male authors handle these interludes much better. Ironic I know.
When I pick up my prescriptions at the drug store, Virginia hands me paperbacks because she "likes thrillers, too." It turns out that they're romances thinly disguised as thrillers. My mother and sister have given me Tami Hoag novels because I Iike thrillers. There is nothing worse than a romance pawned off as a thriller. As it turns out, I am rooting for Maggie and Nick to get together and for Gwen and RJ Tully, but the Alex Kava novels deliver for the genre. Enough of sex. I mention all this just to establish that I am not a closet romance reader.
The Alex Kava Bundle includes the first five Maggie O'Dell novels: A Perfect Evil, Split Second, The Soul Catcher, At the Stroke of Madness, and A Necessary Evil. This was a nice introduction to the series. There are more Maggie O'Dell novels, and I will read them. The author mentions another author, Lisa Scottoline who writes legal thrillers. I haven't heard of her either, but I'll give her a try.
Alex Kava is one of my favorite authors. I love Maggie Odell and especially enjoy a heroine for a change. The series is gripping with intriguing plots, leaves you wanting more each time. I hope to see one of her books adapted for the big screen one day.
