After a fierce storm, a mysterious creature the size of a rhino has washed up, apparently dead, on the shores of Seal Cove, an isolated coastal town in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The new discovery is later transferred to a large vacant pool located at the nearby defunct college where marine biologist Michael Keating hopes to decipher what it is. Later at night,

Not sure
I'm not sure what to say about this book. I gave it a three and a half stars for originality but it is full of cliches and puns. It is not a typical Creature Feature but was enjoyable nonetheless. There are some parts of gor but not the blood Fest one would expect. I did enjoy it and I will probably read it again. Good for a light-hearted afternoon. ...more

This book read like a movie happening on screen a bit too far away to be really engaging.
- there were far to much trivial and far too detailed info that didn't add to the plot, characters or suspense
- Action with the creature was not suspenseful and few and far between
- Characters kept acting in between as if nothing really bad or scaring had happened
- at one point the children are described as being frightened but at no point did they act like it. Contradictions like this pulled me out of the ...more

When is Globster II coming out ??
This is a great monster romp. Good for a summer night or quarantined day. It reminds me of several old movies from the 1950's many of which are mentioned. The characters consists of a Pinniped {look it up} expert and his family who are restoring an old light house (always a great setting) There is a cast of towns folk, a pair of silly constables- Oh it's in Canada - a couple of kids wiser than the adults, also a " John Wayne" hero, who is the local priest. What c ...more

Humor and horror...loved it!
Love the Seal Cove folks...a small community who enjoy the day to day life of fishing, studying seals, and anything in between. When an unknown big blob washes up on the beach, the community has to band together to make sure the creature is dead and move it to an old swimming pool. Then, they have to band together to stay alive. This story has all the ingredients for a great book including humor, horror and lots of great characters. I loved it and I am hoping for a se ...more

I enjoyed this book- it was a 3.5 for me. I really enjoy monster books and this one has an interesting, original monster. The characters are okay- if a bit too corny for my tastes. My primary dislike is the lack of any explanations about the creature itself- what IS it? Where did it come from? I would recommend for readers that don't want a lot of details or perhaps a YA. Overall, I'm glad I read this one.
