About the author

Jan Spiller is a faculty member of the American Federation of Astrologers and the author of three bestselling astrology texts: Spiritual Astrology, New Moon Astrology, and Astrology for the Soul, as well as a new book, Cosmic Love. I took a year and made intentions at each new moon. I love making intentions. I don't see any extra magic that happened for me because I made them at a certain point of each month. But, I'm going to keep doing it because it's fun.

overall it has three messages that are well explained
#1 To make clear intentions when Sun is in 11th House.
#2 What kind of intentions to make for each new moon, this one seems like a mix of Pagan and astrology
#3 The Meaning and Struggles of your North node sign, I could resonate with this a lot.
So far seems like it will make a great reference.

A very cool book that spells out how new moon wishing has worked for the author/astrologer. Jan Spiller gives you all the tools you need to start doing this for yourself.

If the universe puts out certain energies from planetary and stellar alignments, then why not take advantage of those energies and put them to work for your life?

If you read "The Secret" or believe that putting energy or intention out there into the universe can positively/adversely affect your life, then you might want to pick up this book, and start writing wishes every month with the new moon...

I've been doing this for 3 months now - and while I'm not a billionaire just yet (wink, wink) there are other subtle shifts taking place in my life with the other wishing that I have been doing...

I've been using this book as a reference when I make my new moon intentions while journaling. I recommend it to anyone who is expanding their astrology bookshelf or is interested in working with the energy of the moon.

I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to things like astrology. Not that I'm skeptical, I'm not. It's more about the inherent rightness of delving into such things. I'm also pretty open-minded and am currently on a spiritual journey that is both questioning and full of curiosity. So, when I was recommended New Moon Astrology by a dear friend as an additional aid to manifesting dreams and desires, I decided to give it a go.

The book is pretty simple. It tells you the what, the why, the how and with a ton of examples. The New Moon is a point in the astrological cycle that is especially attuned to wish granting. If you offer up your wishes at this special time, they'll come true, the author says. It gets even better when you include details like date and time of birth which can be added to this process for even more weighted wishes. Of course, there's a way of going about this that is of great importance. She details it all in the book.

She goes through great pains to list example wishes for a long list of categories. Categories that are based on the sign the New Moon is in. Categories based on each person's North Node. Yep, she explains what a North Node is first, otherwise that could get quite confusing. She also has category breakdowns based on common areas of struggle, like money, love and health.

It's more of a manual. I read it once to get a full understanding of what exactly it was. Now its use will be more as a reference.

I’m giving this 5 stars because it delivers on exactly what I wanted and MORE.
I’ve been very interested in astrology and often felt the new moon phase was my most powerful time and done a lot of manifestation work that blends the teaching of Gabby Bernstein and witchcraft but this book breaks does such a fantastic job of simplifying and hyper focusing all three systems of belief. Definitely a book I will reference time and time again in alignment with each new moon.
With the biggest aid of all coming in the third part of the book which uses your north node placements combined with new moon practices to help you break through karmic/ past life cycles and allowing this lifetimes core missions ( based on your north node placement ) to come into hyper focus.
Because of specifically that last section I highly recommend this book to anyone about to enter their Saturn return. A big goal for me is to preemptively start to release tensions and disasters by chipping away at these monumental barriers and divine lessons.

My rating: 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Learning astrology from Jan Spiller books is such a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Her understanding of astrology is rooted in her own life experiences and working with clients. It’s positive and empowering. The best thing about her books, and the thing that distinguishes her as a teacher, is that she ALWAYS includes samples, examples or references that are practical, easy to choose from, and clear to understand and apply to your own situation!! The type of teaching that Jan Spiller does in her books is really what goes the extra mile and is actually useful !! Highly recommend her books for learning astrology. I want my own courses and books to be like this too!!

Maybe its bc this book is really dated? Idk. I read a lot of astrology and what my husband calls "witch biz", but there's something...something I don't like here. Something about the use of the word "wish", about how you don't have to "do anything about it! just WISH!" (which i find to be a bit of a dangerous message). There's also a fat-shamey situation going on here (having to quite a bit to do with "WISHING that fat away!"that I may be more sensitive to than most, I'll grant). But this did NOT do it for me. You're better off tracking moon phases on line.
