Kaitlyn Leary will move back to Raines, but there are some things that even fifteen years won’t erase, as the association with her surname. She works hard, holds down two jobs, and just wants to live her life and maybe, someday, find happiness. She has made a few friends, went on a miserable blind date, and is now in the process of trying to repair her childhood home that is in serious disrepair.
Landon Duke no longer is on the rodeo circuit, and now lives back in Raines near his family, running his own construction company. He was dubbed Sir Loin of Beef during his rodeo days, and that moniker has stayed. He has been friends since early childhood with Jed Cassidy, who now owns a bar in town. These two have known since they were teenagers that someday, they would share a woman, they are just waiting for her to come along.
The plot will have a special venue at Cassidy’s that is bringing the ladies in with male strippers. It is keeping not only Jed, but his staff, and even Duke working to keep up with the crowd. When two women come into the bar, it isn’t the aggressive one that garners the attention of Jed and Duke; it is her friend, the one who looks like a prim and proper librarian. It is instant recognition for them, she is the one they have been searching for—and then all of a sudden she is pulled on stage by one of the strippers, this can’t happen. Both men will intervene and take her to Jed’s office for some private time, and while they get frisky, they forget to exchange names.
“The two of them, they were the rugged alpha males. Real cowboys. They were nothing like other men, making the strippers look average.”
“The prim little thing had a liking for sexy underwear and an inner vixen she kept all buttoned up. I wanted to let her out. All the way out.”
The story has some mystery, instant attraction, shock and awe factor, the past drawn into the present, and some hurtful words spewed, a trouble-maker, and a titillating romance between two men and one woman. She will be so far out of her element, yet the sexual attraction and chemistry will lead to her allowing these two men to take her on a journey, one she wants to experience. But what happens when the past comes barreling into the present? Will they end before they even have a chance to see where this chemistry might take them? Will the wisdom of others help smooth away the pain and allow them to move forward?
THEIR RUNAWAY BRIDE IT WAS DARK AND CARNAL AND DIRTY AND NAUGHTY, BUT I LIKED IT
Robert and Andrew were returning to the US after a military tour to Egypt, along with another group of soldiers returning from Mohamir where the custom was two men with one woman. Anne is nothing more than a pawn to her father, forcing a marriage to Mr. Atherton to merge his railroad with her father’s landholdings. Determined not to be used, she escapes right into the cabin of Robert and Andrew and agrees to marry them and move with them to Montana Territory to a new area called Bridgewater. “How could I choose? While they looked so different, I was attracted to them equally.” “A husband’s job is to love her, cherish her, protect her, possess her and claim her.”
The plot will have Anne needing to escape, and Robert and Andrew wanting to take a wife, together. The story is an M-F-M relationship.
A WANTON WOMAN YOU’LL STAY AND WE WON’T STRAY
As a fan of the Bridgewater series, the story of A Wanton Woman takes the reader on an erotic journey of new beginnings and discoveries. For Celia Lawrence, she goes from a stagnant marriage for the past five years to Dr. John Lawrence. She was a nurse for him but in a cold and loveless union, one that produced no passion, no children, and lots of blame directed at her. Coming home early, and hearing her husband and a woman upstairs was a shock, hiding in an adjacent bedroom and witnessing such carnal acts, enlightening, but when a jealous husband appears and shoots and kills his cheating wife and her lover, she is the star witness at his trial. Now, she is considered a pariah and blamed for not keeping her adulterous husband satisfied causing him to cheat.
What is a widow to do when she has no money and nothing to her name, she becomes a mail-order bride? Taking a train from Tyler, Texas to Denver, Colorado, will bring this widow to her new husband by proxy, Luke Tate, mayor of Slate Springs, Colorado. But someone left out the part that she was not just married to Luke, but also to his brother, Walker. This will be a first-time marriage for Luke, who is easy going and excited when he sees their bride; she is everything he could want in a woman. Walker, a widower, is more jaded, after losing a wife that used him as a means of escape from her family. He is looking forward to a warm body in bed and sex, but not willing to share his heart. For this threesome to work, it will require honest and open dialog.
The story is full of memories, regrets, anxiety, desire, passion, new experiences, and angst. For Celia, she is shocked to learn she has two husbands but feels an attraction and sexual chemistry with both men. She is shocked by her wanton desires, the way they make her feel and come unglued, she never had that before. She needs to get away from Carl Norman, who wants her dead and blames her for his brother’s death. When will she trust her husbands enough to tell them the truth?
The story is full of explicit sex scenes, including ménage à trois, that sizzles on the pages as they each explore this new relationship. “I knew what Luke, Walker and I shared was….unique.” “I’d loved the way the men dominated me. My mind, my body, my pleasure.”
ROSE LET GO, I'LL KEEP YOU SAFE
Wow, what an excellent beginning to a new series that will take us on a journey with a household of orphaned girls, all named after flowers. I loved the story, the interaction between the two main characters, Chance, and Rose. This story holds just enough mystery, suspense, and romance to keep the pages turning. The plot held me captive with some nice twists and turns. The dialog was witty and heartwarming. Chance is an alpha male but doesn't try to squelch the feisty, fiery side of Rose; it's part of what he finds enduring about her. Instead, he lassoes her and enjoys the ride. These two have their share of angst, but also a steamy passion that sizzled the pages when they come together.
RIDE ME DIRTY LIFE IN BRIDGEWATER WASN’T NORMAL—BUT IT WAS BETTER
Catherine “Katie” Andrews is going to Bridgewater, Montana, to clear out her late Uncle Charlie’s house and put it up for sale. She hasn’t been there since she was twelve years old, and was shocked when her uncle died and left her as his sole heir. A week away from her job as an attorney in New York comes with so much frustration and headaches between her job, her co-worker, and even her ex-husband. Then to learn that not only was there a house with land, but there are water rights, and Uncle Charlie’s water rights will impact most all the other ranches.
From Denver to Bozeman will have Jack Kane and Katie Andrews as seatmates. A delay in take-off, with overheard phone conversations with her ex and IMs on her computer from a co-worker, text messages from her boss, will not go unnoticed by Jack. Learning that Katie is heading to Bridgewater, where he lives, helps set this tale into motion.
The plot will have cousins, Jack Kane, a horse rancher, and Sam Kane, an attorney making their claim on Katie quickly. Men in Bridgewater still live by their ancestor’s beliefs of men sharing a wife, and the Kane cousins have always known that they would share a wife together, now they must convince her that she is their “lightning strike.”
“We’re raised to put women first, in all things. We protect them, cherish them, love them. Take chivalry and amp it up about ten times. When a man finds the right woman, there’s no going back.”
What will it take for Katie to know that the rat race and jockeying for partnership isn’t what she really wants out of life? Her parents are cold, absent, jet-setting people who she rarely sees. Yes, her mother left Bridgewater and never wanted the lifestyle, but what does Katie want and need? Jack and Sam show her love, passion, and pleasure beyond anything she has ever experienced before. “I was the filling in a Kane boys sandwich, and it was—incredible. Pinned between them, all I could do was surrender myself to the ride and trust that they would take care of me.” The story is sizzling hot with lots of passion and sex between Sam, Katie, and Jack. The menage is M-F-M story, no sex between men.
Nice intro to five different series! Happy Reading! Sir Loin of Beef -- A former rodeo star and his bartender best friend fall instantly into lust at the sight of a girl they rescue from a lap dance on stage at Jed’s bar. Once they get around to telling Kaitlyn their names, Kaitlyn bolts like the bar is on fire. Jed and Duke have a lot of ground to make up when they realize that the lady they fell for is the daughter of the man who did so much damage to their family. Not a huge fan of the whole love at first sight thing, but I really like this cast of characters! I bet the rest of this series has equally outrageous antics! Happy Reading! Their Runaway Bride – When her father attempts to force her into an arranged marriage with a creepy business associate, Ann tries to hide in the first unlocked room on the ship she finds. Lucky for her, the man whose bath she interrupts is half in love with her from just watching her play with another passenger’s dog. (I really shouldn’t read love at first sight books. I sound like such a cynic when I review them lol). The set up for the world building in this one sounds interesting! Happy Reading! A Wanton Woman – Hoping to leave a traumatic scandal behind her, Celia answers an ad for a mail order bride. Colorado should be far enough from Texas for the scared nurse to feel safe, but the brother of her husband’s murderer is after her. Her best bet for safety is the fact that she just married the town mayor (and his brother). Let’s hope the power of love at first sight is enough to save the day! (Really. They should keep me away from love at first sight and destined happiness. It brings out the smartass in me!) Happy Reading! Cowboys and Kisses – Rose is the tomboy in a family of 8 adopted daughters, and it’s a good thing their neighbor has been keeping an eye on her because she has a nose for trouble! If Chance can get her to hold still long enough convince her that he loves her, they might have a forever kind of love. Happy Reading! Ride Me Dirty --Bridgewater County—Catherine is a NYC lawyer fighting to make partner in a good ole boys firm. When her uncle dies leaving her his Montana ranch, she flies out to settle the estate. As she starts putting together memories of her summers in Montana, she finds herself with more and more reasons not to go back to the city. But a developer offers her a fortune for the land and water rights, so she has a tough choice to make! Happy Reading!
This is a box set that I picked up for free made up of first books in 5 distinct series. To be honest, none of these really did it for me - I think some of it might be that this author just isn't my cup of tea.
Sir loin of beef - 2.5 There’s a story here? If there is, I had a hard time finding it. There is no character development and minimal plot, but lots of sexy time, esp given that this as a very short “book”
Montana Heat - 3 This was more my speed. I liked Jane and TY. Decent amount of intrigue and relationship building.
Mountain Darkness 2.5 Decent plot, but random cliffhanger ending! Very little character development. This is a ménage story and to be honest, I kept getting distracted by practical/legal issues. How would the community react to a triad relationship, how would they do some of the things they wanted to do (like get married and have kids).
Cowboys and kisses - 2.5 Ugh…. There is nothing historical about this book except the setting. The leading lady set my teeth on edge with her sheer bratty behavior. Decent plot, but this is a modern/sexy times read set in the old west.
Ride me dirty-3 This story is similar to Sir Loin of Beef, but has much better story telling. I found the characters to be entertaining and the plot interesting if slightly unresolved.
The couple: Sir Loin of Beef: Kaitlin, Duke, and Jed Their Runaway Bride: Ann, Robert, and Andrew A Wanton Woman: Celia, Luke, and Walker Rose: Rose and Chance Ride Me Dirty: Catherine (Katie), Jack, and Sam
Romance genre: Sir Loin of Beef: contemporary; ménage Their Runaway Bride: historical, ménage A Wanton Woman: historical, ménage Rose: cowboy, historical Ride Me Dirty: contemporary; ménage
Plot: Sir Loin of Beef: Kaitlyn has returned to the town where she grew up, and on a night out, she meets two hot cowboys at a bar. They show her particular attention even though she's a little more buttoned-up than most of the women there, but once she hears one of their names (Landon Duke), she hightails it out of there. It turns out that her father was involved in an accident involving the Duke family, and Kaitlyn is sure that they will blame her. This leads to a scene that absolutely made me cry (I've read it twice, and I cried both times). The three of them have to decide what they want and how it's going to work.
Their Runaway Bride: Robert and Andrew have come to the U.S. after the military service was over, and Anne is trying to escape from her father's machinations. She certainly doesn't want to marry the man her father intends, and Robert and Andrew are happy to help her break free from her overbearing, abusive father.
A Wanton Woman: Celia is married, but not happily. When her husband dies in a particularly spectacular way, she leaves to make a new life as a mail-order bride. What she finds is two husbands, but do they both want her?
Rose: Rose is an orphan who has been adopted into a large family of other orphan girls. The nearest ranch is owned and run by Chance, who is a little older than her and who she adores, even if he doesn't think of her that way. Or does he? He'll swoop in to protect her, but will he keep her? And will she let him?
Ride Me Dirty: Katie is back in town to deal with the home her uncle left her. While there, she meets Jack and Sam. Jack is a lawyer like she is, and he understands how stressful her job can be. He also understands how badly she needs to slow down and live.
Character development: All of the characters experience growth, the women more so than the men (although in A Wanton Woman, the men have a lot to go through to get to their HEA, emotionally speaking). In most cases, the women have a bit of mental gymnastics to do to understand the dynamics and suitability of a ménage relationship.
Part of a series: Yes, all of them
Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes
I liked some of these more than others. Surprisingly for me, it was the polyamorous stories that were better to me. I either didn't like some of the characters or felt that some of the details in the historical one were too modern. These, that I liked enough to finish, were all standalones except one that isn't a cliff hanger, but a big plot point isn't resolved in this one, but the next book in the series moves the plot along but has different main characters. So they give you a nice taste of the series without having you feel like you need to read all of them.
Was surprised to find out the author was female, as so many of these scenes seemed like the sexual fantasies of men without regard for the impact on the woman's body. Additionally, some plots introduce abuse before or during sex, to be accepted as love. No, I'm not talking about sex spankings.Basically, the plot is focused on the idea of marriage between one woman and two men.
It could be me, but Im either not liking to read about threesomes or the way this is author writes is not appealing to me. Most of the trio couples gave a lot of coerced/borderline rapey vibes. Most of the women in these stories often said no, but her "body said different", couple books had the third person introduced into the scenes without the females consent...during sex, and the general explicit physical sex described seemed unrealistically "pleasing." Abused women coming rt out of those relationships to these domineering men that push them into pleasure?? This was not my cup of tea, the only story that made any sense was the only story about a regular couple. I try to stick through books because I often change my mind later. This was not the case. Sorry but I was very disappointed, but I got what I paid for...it was free

These highly erotic stories have heroes and heroines to root for and plot lines that are light but angsty. The writing draws you into the scene as well as into the lives of the characters. The men are all alpha but they don’t overshadow the women’s independence.
This was incredible, sensational, and hot as f@@k! Each story is incredibly written. Each story has a theme of two men to one woman (who wouldn't want to be center attention), but each one is so different. This book is for the more mature readers, but I would highly recommend. Enjoy exploring different ways of having fun. Totally well worth the read
Love this authors work. Mainly threesomes MFM, short but intense stories. Had me hooked and wanting to read the rest of the series. Five different stories all tempting you to read the next one. Mainly cowboy romances, lots of spice, lots of loving and lots of choice.
I had already read the first two books, but I read them both again and enjoyed them a second time. The next books were crazy good and I hope to find more of the Bridgewater Series that I haven’t read yet. Love the ménage, but it’s even better in Bridgewater!
If you are new to Vanessa Vale, this is a great book to begin with. It gives you just enough sizzle to curb you appetite! Once you read these, you will want to read EVERYTHING she has written!
Five stunning tales of love, laughter and passion: Vanessa Vale never ceases to amaze with her string heroines and alpha males. Sometimes being strong is not the solution, especially if you have strong willing males who want to help. Definitely 5*****
Loved that there is a link between the books with a common theme. All of the characters were individual with very different personalities. These are entertaining reads with twists that add to the enjoyment.
This collection is full of standalone stories that are each the beginning of a series. All have endings without cliffhangers. Insta attraction, dominant men and women they want to take care of.
I couldn't even finish this crap. I made it halfway through the second book. Enter horse porn. Exit me. You couldn't pay me to finish this book. Absolutely appalling.
What a great idea to package up 5 series starters together. All great, hot sexy reads, full of possessive cowboys and the women that fall for them. Great stories and definitely whether my appetite for more .
Really enjoyed reading all five of these books. Each one is just as good and enjoyable as the other. Highly recommend reading. Can't wait to read more.
