as good as the first ... although Caleb was a bit difficult inbetween
After what happened to Christian, Wade and Caleb must deal with the aftermath, but they won’t have time to settle together until they must face a new danger, one they don’t know how to defeat without losing their life.
Wade and Caleb are back for my biggest pleasure. I loved them so much.
After the huge fight with Christian and the somber revelations about the witches council, Caleb and Wade try to find their footing together , but they won’t have this luxury, when almost all the BLADE ‘agents are

Another great story, definitely no trace of the dreaded sophomore slump! This book picks up right where the last book ended, and the action is nonstop from there! I love Wade and Caleb, and both of them learning more about themselves and each other. There were some super evil villains, but it was amazing seeing all the different magical species (and the witch hunters!) come together to take them on. Plenty of sexy times, without losing any of the story because of it. This is an amazing urban fan ...more

POV: 1st person, dual POV
Content Warning: history of drug use, violence

Demon Heart is the second book in the Blade & Dust series. An action-packed adventure, with engaging characters and an intriguing plot, I've found myself submerged in this series. Following a now-established couple through the ups and downs of their budding relationship, while dealing with past hurts and wrongs, exes

This series hooked me from the first book and I couldn’t wait to dive back into this world with Demon Heart. From Witches and Witch Hunters to Nightcrawlers and Shifters, this series is a supernatural heaven. Demon Heart takes off right in the middle of the action, and there’s never a dull moment throughout the entire book.

Let the dust clear

The battle continues and poor Wade and Caleb can’t catch a break. I think they’re a magnet for trouble and evil as it seems to follow them around, or maybe they court it? I will say that Caleb does not back down and has a spine of steel. In fact, he scares me a little but some people in this world need a fire lit under them. Wade, well, he finds himself with a unique set of problems that were fascinating to watch.

This is the second installment of an continuing series, so you really must read Killer Heart first in order to understand the fantasy world, the lore that the author has created and where the storyline was left at.

𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 is more full speed action than romance. Caleb and Wade don't even get any respite after the previous book's trials before another enemy needs to be taken down. Only this time everything is kind of extra. Extra characters, good and bad, extra spells and an extra powerful evil
Caleb & Wade are fighting again! This time however, they are fighting side by side. Oh, and this time, no one, not witches, not familiars, not demons from hell, not even their closest friends will tear them apart.

It will take a lot of patience on both their parts, especially with Wade manifesting a strange new quirk that keeps causing Caleb harm, and even threatens Wade. He wonders if he will survive this or will it completely consume him and those he loves most, body and soul!?

Too bad that's no

Wade and Caleb return in a surprising way. Can’t say much about this book because so much of would be all spoilers. I’ll just say they survived the last danger with their relationship intact. Becoming so close in a short period of time makes Wade wonder if they will burn out. With the secrets of the Witches and Nightcrawlers, his and Caleb’s story is really out of their hands

A lot of times the second book in a series isn’t as strong a story. Not the case with this book. World building continued

So far I am loving this series. They have to deal with the consequences from the first book which was fun. They also have no time for a break since there are more thing happening. Wade and Caleb have a new danger that they have no clue how to deal with without dying. This book hits the ground running with the action and doesn't give much of a moment for the characters to try to catch their footing or much else. I love getting more of the different species in this world and the world building. Th ...more

Book 2 in the Blade and Dust series and the world-building just keeps getting better. Last we saw our 2 MC’s, Caleb and Wade, they were recovering from a pretty intense battle. But, there are still weird goings on afoot and something potentially dangerous going on with Wade. But, steps leading up to the big climax in this book will have witches and nightcrawlers choosing sides to fight an enemy no one saw coming. When all is said and done everyone will take a stand, and the future of the world h ...more

Great follow up book in this series

I am really enjoying this story so far.

It was as exhilarating as the first book. I couldn't put it down.

It was fast paced, fun, full of action and mystery. I loved the intrigue following what happens at the end of the previous book.

This book answered questions but it raised many more and I just need to know what happens next.

I love Wade and Caleb and I really enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve, as well as their relationship with the people around them. It

Excellent second book in the series! You would think after surviving the challenges of the first book that Caleb and Wade would have time to recover and solidify their relationship. Right? Nope. More trials and challenges, action and drama, mystery and mayhem, and plenty of surprises fuel this book. I loved the way Caleb and Wade hung on together through it all. You could probably enjoy this book as a stand alone, as I think there is enough background, but I recommend reading Killer Heart first. ...more

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better in this marvelous series, Rhys Lawless proceeded to prove me wrong. This fantastic, fast paced, action packed, raw, gritty, grab-you-by-the-feels, intense, emotionally charged, smoking hot, nail biting, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, fascinating, and totally awesome story had me hooked from the very first page. Filled with mystery, magic, madness, mayhem, danger, drama, suspense, more twists and turns than a roller coaster, allies and villai ...more

The story of Wade and Caleb continues in this second book with more adventures. It was amazing the way their relationship evolved and even if they struggled with some challenges that started since book one and another ones brand new, love always win. I don’t want to spoil it for you but I liked especially how the author managed all the situations their relationship arose in the magic world, taking intolerance to the next level, and of course finishing with some nice surprises, and huge changes, ...more

Picking up soon after the first book ends, this installment provides the same fantastical characters, the same sense of urgency that the first book did, but with the main characters now committed to each other. If you're a fan of urban fantasy, this should be your jam.
I had a bit of trouble getting into it at the beginning as it seemed a bit disjointed, but that could have been me coming into it after a contemporary murder mystery. After the first couple of chapters, though, it was a fun ride ba

Caleb's & Wade's continuing adventure

Caleb and Wade continue battling Christian, Wade’s vampire former boss. He was defeated at the end of book 1, but has been somehow resurrected and is continuing to cause grief in the supernatural community. They need to learn the depths of betrayals they have experienced for many years. They both need to learn about their previously unknown skills and powers to survive the impending crises. In the end the only thing they can count on is their love for each ot

This book was so,so good! Stellar world building. I can't wait for more and to see where he takes all the side characters like he alluded to at the end of the book. It had everything I love in a book. There was romance ,paranormal, mystery, mythology, science fiction and so much attention to detail. Yet he still left me hanging just enough to want more....more....more lol

Demon Heart by Rhys Lawless is the second book in the Blade & Dust series. It's a fantastic fantasy novel filled with the paranormal, magic, action, twists, steam, and suspence. The world created in this series drew me in and now I'm stuck, addicted to these amazing characters and the interesting storylines. This book had me glued to the pages, even better than the first book, and now I can not wait for the next book. I absolutely love Wade and Caleb and their journey. ...more

Demon Heart!

The saga continues in Demon Heart with Caleb and Wade sorting through not only themselves and the doubt each has in themselves but also the world after the conclusion of Killer Heart. With strange occurrences popping up and Wade spitting out spells randomly, the adventure and plot twists continue in this trilogy with these two men. Another fabulous book by this talented author! I cannot wait to see the conclusion!

Wade and Caleb action pack adventures continue in this second book of the series. And it's as good as the first good...full of suspense, mystery and magic. Also, we get to see their relationship grow and become even kinkier (so hot). And more twist to keep you guessing and addicted. Now I need book 3 to find out more. (It's not a cliff hanger, more like a HFN)

Good book

Good book, though not as good as the first. There were no really epic twists like I felt the first book had. I enjoyed reading about Wade and Caleb, and enjoyed the big battle in the end. Thought that the bad guys were ended a little too quickly for how powerful they were. I wish the book was longer than it was but it was a good read. Looking forward to the next one.

The characters were so that you have a good idea what they were really feeling. I was amazed at how Caleb & Wade performed the ritual to bring Avalis back to help overcome her parents. Looking forward to the book, to see how Wade deals with his new identity, and if Winston is the same.

Another great read in this series. Caleb and Wade start navigating their relationship, dealing with new challenges and people that don't want to see them together. There are new villains, new allies. And there is a twist I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed this read and I'm looking forward to the next.

This one was by far the best so far. We learned a lot and met some exciting characters. I can’t wait to see how things develop with what happened here. I have some thoughts on how and can’t wait to see if it’s what I’m thinking. Is it time yet? Lol
