**************

The book starts with Arjun who was in turmoil about his career. On one hand there was NDA and on the other hand it was IIT. The excitement and cheerfulness in his parents face when he announced that he passed the entrance exam for IIT has no bound. But admission to NDA was something he was very ambitious about from his childhood. Now how will Arjun manage to declare to his parents about his dream to become an army ?? And what are the future hurdles waiting for him in the process of pursuing his career ??

The plot of this book was not only limited to Arjun's choice of future. It also shows the beautiful friendship that builds between Arjun, David, Yawar and Manu and their half yearly vacations to Goa and to each others family. It also smartly puts up the serious issues concerning India like religion crisis, terrorism, mob lynching and also consequences and impact of fake news spread by electronic media on citizens.

Overall the plot was emotional, interesting, gripping and intense. It captures the emotions of every character in a vivid way.

𝑺𝒚𝒏𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒔:The story is about Arjun who follows his dream of joining the Army and his family is supportive about his decision. He has built his life in the Army but one terrorist attack later, he is forced to question everything he had stood for. But before he can leave his carefully built life behind, he finds himself in an impossible to escape situation and he is the only one who can do anything about it.
𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: The book depicts the story of a boy Arjun, who is passionate about serving his country. His journery as an Army man is vividly described and it is only made real by the first person description. The story also shows his development from a young boy to a responsible adult.
I loved reading about his time in NDA. I have read and seen so many shows about Quantico that I was always curious to read about our own defense academia. The emotional roller coaster that he faces in the academy is tangible, making the readers more sympathetic towards him. His friendship with the 4 people that he met in the academy, is very beautiful. The incident which forces him to quit everything he has worked for, is very sad but unfortunately similar incidents happen throughout the country and everyone moves on after sometime.
All the incidents that has been written her, including the plane hijack, is not fanciful or extra, which makes the story more plausible. I loved reading about every characters that are in the book. Arjun is depicted as such a quintessential gent. I really liked reading about him, which is basically the whole book.
As for the common points, the narration is good and so is the pace in which the story is told. The language is easy and without errors. The title is apt and I really like the cover. I 💯% recommend it to everyone. #theindiansoldier

The Indian Soldier is a well-written story of a boy who grows up to be a brilliant Army officer. The story begins with him clearing the National Defense Academy (NDA) entrance exam and eventually choosing the NDA over IIT. The life at academy has been described really well and is quite relatable to the readers who have known someone in the army.

What follows is a rescue operation of passengers of a hijacked plane and a well-described mission. The author has explained several war and spy strategies of the army in an easy way. The first half is quiet gripping and narrated at a good pace. The author fails to keep the story intact in the second half though. I believe more drama could have been added to the rescue operation for a praiseworthy climax.

The paper quality is good and the language is simple enough for the book to be finished in a couple of sittings.

First of all thanks Sushant for sending me this lovely book. This book is about Arjun Sharma who is a Delhite. And is a normal person like waking up late getting shouting from mom and dad for doing no home work. He appears for 2 exams at once one being the IIT and the other being the Army. As the title suggests he selects army as his career. He becomes one of the best soldier doing covert operations for India. After serving 7 years in 100 such covert operations he is given a desk job in Delhi to be near his family. But the terrorist attack in Delhi mall changes his life leaving a scar in his heart. He plans to leave the country and another incident occurs which only he can avert it from going the other side. A airplane is hijacked and Arjun Sharma is the only one who can save them. Author has provided very meaningful characters like his grand ma, his NDA friends Yawar, Manu and David. Grandma has played a role of krishna for this Arjun by providing him with proper direction when required. The part in climax where all 4 friends meet and also his grand ma having a orange juice before was little unique. Overall i liked the book and it's a very good Goodread...🙂

Book : The Indian soldier by sushant Saini
Page count : 245
The story shows Arjun and his love for Indian army. He also gave the entrance exam secretly and cleared it. Things got messed up when he cleared the IIT too and this news reached his family. He found it very difficult to break the news to his family that he wants to join the army. But he somehow gathered all the courage and told everthing thay he is holding up and to his delight, he got all the support form his family and started his journey to become a soldier. The first half of the story describes his life in the academy. His first day in the academy and his first encounter with the tikkis (students of 3rd sem). He made many new friends, learned new things and with all the sweet memories to cherish to, he finally stepped his foot on the battlefield. He dealt with all the Operations and tasks successfully but one mission shook all his confidence. He had not overcome the bybhis mission yet, when he got the news that a plane is hijacked and the lives of all the Passengers is in danger. Will Arjun be able to save them?
Review :
Language is lucid and title is damn good. I liked the beginning. It was interesting and I got to know so much about the academy and how they're trained. The narration was also smooth. First half was all about how Arjun got admission into NDA, his training, when he was trying so hard to complete all his tasks and the time he spent with his friends. The first half of the story revolved around Arjun and his 3 friends - David, Yawar and Manu. I liked Manu's character. He seemed to be a jolly person. I liked reading his part. The story then picked up it's pace and second half starts when Arjun stepped his foot on the battlefield. It describes how arjun handled all the Operations, the period when he lost all his self confidence. Everything was well narrated. I took 2 days to read this. All in all its a good read and i recommend it to everyone.❤

‘The Indian Soldier’ by Sushant Saini is a book that revolves around Arjun who’s only aim in life is to serve his country. Arjun a student with high aspiration clears his IIT and NDA exams with flying colours. But Arjun inclination is more towards getting into the army and hence he goes to achieve his ambition. He finally becomes a soldier and during one encounter he loses all his faith in people and decides to leave his homeland. As he was leaving an airplane is hijacked and Arjun is the only one who can save them. Will Arjun be successful in saving the life of these 200 people? To know more read The Indian Solider.

My Thoughts:

The plot is written brilliantly and well researched. The author has actually depicted situations and the way normal people would react in. The author has wonderfully kept the suspense till the end of the book.

The language is simple and lucid and the readers can easily go through the book.

The characters are well developed. I especially loved the character of Grandma who is entertaining and at the same time encourages and motivates him to achieve what he always wanted to do and when he had his own doubts. The friendship between Arjun and his friends is depicted beautifully.

The book cover is simple and is apt to the storyline. The book title is also apt to the plot.

Loved the writing style of the author it can be easily understood by all the readers. The pace of the book is also perfect which further add to the beauty of the whole story.

Overall, I liked reading this book and would surely recommend it to all especially those who are looking to read something action packed.

We have often talked about Indian Soldiers but we don't know the reality about their life. This book of 245 pages impeccably describes the life of an Indian Soldier. It is written by Sushant Saini and published by Leadstart Pvt Ltd. The book itself shows an important plot, where an aeroplane is hijacked and a man is pointed with a gun. This is about Arjun who is the protagonist and who cracks an IIT entrance exam and becomes the celebrity of his whole family. His parents starts celebrating for their son's success by organising a party. But deep down Arjun was sad as he has also been selected in National Defense Academy which was his dream. He finally confesses his problems with his parents and grandmother and they agreed on his going to NDA upon sending him to IIT college. His family support is very nicely depicted in this book. From here Arjun's journey in NDA starts and the tough life of a soldier is shown. The best part i found was when he was bluffed by one of his senior on the day of registration. Here comedy part is nicely portrayed. His deep friendship with Yawar, David and Manu is shown. Later in the novel he is admitted to the deadliest and most secretive Team in the Indian Army. From here his life struggles start. One should surely read this book in order to experience the interesting plot and the challenges Arjun faces. It gives me a patriotic feeling while reading it, overall a must read book.

Right from choosing the tough National Defense Academy over the lucrative IIT, the book categorizes itself to be a patriotic thriller. The book 'The Indian Soldier' by Sushant Saini describes the journey of a student Arjun to a Special Officer. The story moves as the protagonist grows from a immature teenager, to a cadet at NDA, further being posted as a leiutinant followed by being a Senior Officer.

The book touches various military aspects. Arjun attitude and temperament is shown by the way outperforms in various attacks and hijacks which redefines life for Arjun. Various national issues such as terrorist attacks kashmiri pandits, democracy are very smartly touched. Apart from the 'on-duty' picture of a soldier, their personal life is also well narrated in the book. How Arjun bonded with his NDA peers Manu, Yawar and David. The role of Arjun's grandmother is also known to influential as she has always been motivating and has the mantra "hit it where it hurts the most."

No doubts Book has the gloomy sides as well but it instills the feeling of patriotism in oneself. The character seems relatable and binds the plot. It's said that never judge a book by its cover but for this book the cover is is equally intriguing and justifies the context of the book. Insight to a soldier's life is very well narrated and holds the readers intact.

The book is certainly must pick.

The storyline is unique and absorbing. It is about a eighteen year old, whose dream is to join the Army and to serve the Nation. We also get to see the hardships of soldiers and their state of affairs. The book displays elements such as Patriotism , politics , racism , pretty well. The Protagonist is strongly built and relatable and is a character ,whom we can look up to . It will multiply your love and respect towards army tenfold. All in all it was an inspiring and unputdownable read. I highly recommend this book to all readers. Read the full story to know these interesting facts.

Recomendation : Every Indian should read this to know how brave of their army are . If the book is read by any army personal , he could really co-relate all those emotions that flows over the story .

Criticism :
The book starts with a very interesting day to day normal life incident but suddenly after few chapter it lost it’s flow with some over describe situation. But the author successfully draw reader attention from chapter 13. Every situation like Attack in Mall , Hijacking a Plane ete somehow connect some real incident , that make it more realistic and become it’s USP. Chapter 10 Is the most important portion of this story. It tells how to overcome failure. Pages 190-191 should be read by each of us carefully as it describe how the countrymen become ememy of each other by the name of religion. Everybody should learn a lesson and share this to another. Everybody know to tell such a realistic story, a author need to well research about those facts. But here the Chapter 15-16 are too much fictionalized that very hard to believe. Overall it touch the reader heart.

Overall - 4.5/5

In-depth Review:

This book have a total of 26 chapter.
Chapter 1: The book started within very simple common dramatic situation of a every house, you can find some matching with your childhood days with this. Arjun who never wanted to be an IIT-ian, luckily got a chance to get into there. He instead badly wanted to see himself as an army to serve the nation such that he had given his army exam without any consent of his family. That's why he got shocked when he heard he had cracked the exam as he is not prepared for this situation.
Chapter 2: While his fellow friends are busy to celebrate his success, he got busy to find how he could crack the exam. Most surprisingly his father got the news before he gives it and he arranged the celebration party for his son's success. At this crazy situation, Arjun found a mail of his job confirmation in Indian Army.

Why read this book?
To all defence aspirants, patriotic readers, thriller lovers and the ones serving the nation at present...This book is specially recommended for you. This is a book that reflects the ins and outs of the life of an Indian soldier.
📓📓
Arjun ( I would be damn jealous of this guy if it was reality) cracked both IIT and NDA 🤧. He gets quite confused whether he should join the armed forces or do engineering. His grandmother comes to his rescue and he joins the forces. But it's not that easy being a part of an organization that has the utmost powers and responsibility to protect the nation. Though he strived hard, got in the most covert and lethal team in the Indian Army, dedicated himself to the nation, an incident happened that made him question his own actions and life decisions and he decides to leave the forces not only that but also the nation. But as he bids farwell to his nation and gets in the airplane, his airplane carrying 200 passengers gets hijacked. Will he take the risk once again to save his countrymen? If so, Will he be able to save the passengers? Will this incident change his views on his life decisions? Read the book to know more.
📓💞😇
I'm a NCC Army cadet and the emotions and the feelings involved in this book is something that I could partially feel and understand. Wearing the uniform is everyone's dream but with it not only comes responsibility but also the mental and physical torture to wear it, to be with it, and to be able to bear the responsibility that comes with it. It's quite tiring and it's seen often that people do give up because of lack of motivation to bear the mental and physical stress. I appreciate the author so much to write it so diligently. The character development and the emotions all were well expressed. Totally loved it!! A must read novel for all the defence aspirants to know what's it to be in the armed forces. #nda #patrioticthriller #indiansoldier #indianbookstagramer #patrioticbooks

The indian soldier, as it's name suggests a story of passionate indian young boy Arjun, juggling between his parents ambition to join iit and his passion to serve Indian Army, it's hard to choose one between them. The first beautiful aspect of this book comes here. Dealing with someone's expectations rather than your dream is quite difficult but a right step can transform someone's life if it is taken at when it required.
.
After entering into national defence academy Arjun initially suffers from the hard training sessions and strict rules but as the environment suits him he puts his heart and soul in the training and transforms himself into a best cadet. As a result he gets opportunity to serve his country with highest responsible post.
Arjun's life into NDA tells a vast picture of academy which is famous for building strong and superfine offices in indian army. Academy's environment and their routing, the relationship between cadets and their seniors and with the offices gives a great opportunity to look insight in a building officers life.
Arjun's friendship with his fellow cadets and other characters is beautifully narrated. Actual meaning of friendship and what a friend can do for another, imparts a deep impact.
.
And when Arjun transforms into a successful officer his journey to serving his country and his missions gives goosebumps and equally it invokes patriotism in the veins of readers.
.
Despite he is a best officer he faces some harsh conditions is society. In the name of religion how people divided and how it leads to hatred. Author strikes a great point here on religious scenario in the country. This part is really thought provoking and makes me think to what extent will this hatred harm the country. And it really raise a deep and most sensational issue.
.
The last part made my eyes teary and it's end part equally satisfied my heart. It put a great impact on me and also it gives a great tribute to our indian army soldiers.
.
.
Thank u author for such a great book and Arjun for being a fabulous character and officers to serve the country.

Book- The Indian Soldier
Author- Sushant Saini
Type- Fiction
Format- Paperback
Publisher- Jufic Books

I wished my country could change for better. I wished if accidents happens, we would come out and ask each other if were fine rather than blaming , abusing and beating each other. I wished we’d help each other build our places of worship and not tear them down.

The Indian Soldier by Sushant Saini is a fiction book about Mr. Arjun who wanted to become Indian Solider. Story starts with two friends checking their IIT Results but one friend more excited for Independence Day than his results. Thought he latter one could clear his IIT, he wanted to go to military and serve the nation. Story starts thereafter, he gets into National Defence Academy, get good fellows, executes tougher and riskier projects and comes across through various incidents.

Book is filled with thrill, valour, struggle and patriotism. The book also reminds of Kandhar Hijacking. Contradict to traditional tales, protagonist gets family support. Story throws good light on the life of soldier. From Nagaland to Kochi, book encapsulates all kind of adventures.

Other Things I liked were-
1. Language of the book is easy and comfortable.
2. Narration style was remarkable.
3. Plot was excellent, well developed and executed.
4. Title of the book is apt.
5. Characterization was stunning though out the book.
6. Pace of the story was fine.
7. Good suspense and thrill was maintained through out the book.

Things I didn’t like were-
Formatting of book could be done in a better way. This is one of the rarest book which is having chapter title printed in smaller fonts than regular text (and chapter serial number ). Margin on the right side (for let pages) and left side (for the right pages) was too less which makes an un-comfortable for reader when book is printed in lowest standard font size with lowest standard line space.

Overall book is amazing, after all, its Indian soldier’s book. I loved it very much and recommend for everyone.

"Completely oblivious to jealousy, greed and rat race - things that become second nature by the time we become 'mature'."

✈ "The Indian Soldier" is a story revolving around the protagonist, Arjun, an IIT aspirant, who further joins his dream of protecting the country. The story starts with him clearing NDA exam, and choosing NDA over IIT. He becomes a Soldier, a good one at that and fights all the odds that comes ahead of him. But some incidents like these, makes him break in, and so he decides to go abroad. The plane through which he is supposed to go, gets hijacked and he is needed to rescue hostages. Does he do it? Does he survive? Will he once again serve his country? To find out, what he does further, do read this amazing thriller novel....
.
✈ First of all, seeing the title and cover of the book, one might think that it is all about Indian soldiers and their operations, but no, it has more to it. The first half, totally explains in depth, the training Arjun goes through & how the things in NDA makes oneself strong enough. Second half is fast paced & comes with all the twists & turns....
.
✈ Talking about the plot, the plotline is very good and something unique, making the audience stick through the book from start to the end. The language used by the Author is really simple and lucid enough. Also, the way the book is narrated is totally impressive. The characters portrayed throughout the story is wonderfully depicted. Especially, the friendship being an important highlight, in the whole plot. Not only the characters, but also the life of an army office is narrated brilliantly. We dont know how much a soldier has to suffer, until we have one in our own family....
.
✈ Lastly an unbelievable climax. Mesmerizing indeed. Recommending this novel to every single reader out there. A book, written truly for Soldiers....
.
✈ The only problem I felt here is at times the narrative seems to be dragged, and there are also some grammatical and puntuation error which can be easily rectified. Rest the story is worth reading....

The story begins with the protagonist getting selected for IIT and finally revealing his actual desire for Army which was uncalled for by his grandmother. He reveals his success in NDA which is then the beginning of the actual story. As story proceeds, it deals with 2 aspects - one about his duty life and other a fiction of unearthly place and the story actually interwind till the end. That is the story in Nutshell.

Coming to the point, the style of writing and the book from the mid has been extremely nice but the whole plot has a very weak base.

Throughout the story, it has been a very confusing experience of what the Author actually wanted to tell as a story. The whole story had a lot of loopholes. Let's begin with the whole depiction Indian Army and NDA. The absence of SSC interview may be due to the author's choice while storytelling but it makes it incomplete. This hurts me a lot because of actually eye witnessing of what actually is and what actually could have been told in the story. It is more like a western fiction where sometimes the whole machinery is fictitious.

Next coming to the Plane hijack. The pieces of machinery that prevent it these days to a great extent is absolutely uninvolved in the story to a great extent, making it a fiction that is uncalled for if you can't imagine reality to be fictitious and partial to just go in flow with storytelling but not plot.

There have been a good lot messages being tried to express in the story that I really appreciate and especially making it interwind with the emotional touch is the component, I feel a person will read this book. The added patriotism face in the story and the will to fight for the best of the nice and high is what I would recommend to the students. Not meant for an adult who likes to read a more captivating fiction that has patriotism touch and takes out time from his daily schedule to read this book.

The cover of the book shows the image of a person in point blank with a machine gun and below the image of a airplane with an terrorist within it holding arm, the cover is reasonably good as its attractive and appealing. The title of the story "The Indian Soldier" is pretty straight forward and simple giving the readers an clear indication of the plot, even though the title is apt for the book I would have liked to see an different title unique and appealing.

We normally have seen many children having an dreaming of becoming a solider once the grow up and serve the nation , but once they reach that stage the patriotism some how diminishes and they switch into something relative to what they see greater than severing the nation. The book also starts in a similar way when Arjun gets to select two things on the same day that is to turn towards an IIT or NDA for the nation.

Arjun picks the later to serve the nation , the initial part of the book shows on how her joined NDA and his training and life in the camp and becomes an loyal soldier for the nation with the inspiration and motivation his grandmother gives him where he is down and out and in the meantime a friendship also blossoms well. Then comes a twist where an terrorist which made Arjun think more on his decision to become an soldier and his return. Life then give him different twist when he come across on the saving of airplane hijack. How will he handle that is the climax of it.

The language used in the book throughout is simple and easy to understand. The narration is a place where I could say the book has something to improve, there are places of unnecessary lag and stretch and there are also places which doesn't make pure sense in the wildest imagination even though this is a fictional plot and it does require lots of ground work. The final part of the book is too much elaborated without the need of it as it does lengthen the number of pages without even the need of it.

The Indian Soldier by Sushant Saini is a perfect blend of humor and motivation. It's a story of a guy who wanted to join NDA and serve his motherland but his family had some other plans.

Arjun gave his IIT entrance exams, he was assured that he won't get selected, he waited for results for the torturous days to end and so that he could persue what he longed for.

On result day Arjun with his friend Aryan visited internet cafe and Aryan was assured of his selection where to contrast Arjun got selected but Aryan didn't made it to IIT.

Later on reaching home he witnesses celebrations happening all around him and Arjun discovers that he also got selected for National Defence Academy, exam he gave secretly.

Arjun found it hard to make everyone agree for Army, as everyone was celebrating his selection in IIT. But later everyone agreed and his Grandma supported as after Arjun's grandfather he would be first one serving in Army.

Later in NDA, Arjun gone through really hard training where he made three friends David, Manu and Yawar. All of his friend lost their life fighting terrorist, but since Yawar is Muslim and his photo of childhood with one terrorist shaking hand got in news. So seeing Yawar who lost his life serving country being treated like this after his death. Arjun felt disheartened and decided to leave the Army. It was an emotional ride for him.

Later when there was Plane Highjack, he joined back and was able to save everyone.

And the book ends at a happy note.

The character of Grandma and Arjun parents, one would love and relate a lot. Whereas Manu and Raveena story will make everyone sad. Author has beautifully curated each and every character in this book and I appreciate him and his efforts.

All I can say is pick this up and read. It's an amazing journey to read where a 18 year Arjun becomes Major Arjun. It's a journey of never ending fight, winning all battles in life and to keep hustling.

My Rating 🌟🌟🌟

1. The cover of the book is beautiful and as per the story.
2. Language is easy to understand.
3. Title of the book is also justifiable.
4. We often came through cross roads wherein we have to make tough decisions. This is also clearly mentioned as he has to choose among Army Officer and IIT.
5. Sometimes life goes unpredicted & luck favours all. Arjun was not able to believe he would be able to crack IIT though his friend couldn't despite hardworking.
6. The life of a Army Officer is very strictly defined in the story.
7. Arjun was always fascinated by Army but soon gives up during initial months of training. However it was due to Grandma's encouragement and motivation he decided to give it a second chance.
8. Grandma's character is quite practical, sarcastic, and supportive being the eldest in the family. But is grudge full post her husband demise in the Army.
9. The role of Ikkis, Dukkis and Tikkis is fascinating especially the Cream Roll and other harsh environment among the seniors.
10. The skills of Arjun are very tactical and through his sharp focus is able to impress everyone being a part of the Top Secretive Team.
11. However the story lacks punch and enthusiasm towards the biased opinion of Hindu and Muslim community as per the plot.
12. There was a heated arguments discussion on the pretext of religious communities.
13. The description of top secret academy is state of the art high end level. 4D rendering and advanced technologies is impressive.
14. Three teenage friends passed away despite mistakenly agreeing.
15. His thinking capability is very apt due to which he was able to execute his plan of action.
16. Story should be more specified on the life at Army.
17. Overall a descent read but will lack interest on Hindu Muslim riots.

The books revolves around the character of a young boy named Arjun. The story begins in 2010 when Arjun realizes that he has cracked his IIT exam and also got into NDA. After much difficulty he finally choses his dream and arrived at the National Defence Academy. During his time in NDA, he learns valuable life lessons, and builds life long comradeship. After a crucial and effectively hard training he makes into the most covert and lethal team in the Indian army - Team A. He gives everything to his country, undertaking most leathal and deadly missions, but after one particularly nasty terrorist attack, he starts to question everything that he has been taught. At the end he decides to leave the country. But before he can pack his bags and bid farewell, an airplane carrying over 200 passengers gets hijacked by a group of unnamed terrorists and somehow Arjun is the only one can save them.
Will he be able to overpower them?
Read to find out.

There are many great aspects in the book which keeps the reader hooked. First of all, I loved the way how the author has presented the characters, be it Arjun, his family, or his friends in NDA, and every detail was to the point. Secondly, the author has elaborately explained Arjun's time in NDA and every deatil was to the point. While it may be seem appealing to some readers but personally I felt that it somehow strays away from the main theme, which I believe is hijacking. Thirdly, the book is well researched and suspense part is very well written. Kudos to the author for this.
The only problem I feel here is at times the narrative seems to be unnecessarily dragged, and there are also some grammatical and puntuation error which can be easily rectified.

MY OPINION:
•Cover is well designed and appropriate
•Plot is very intriguing.
•Characters are well developed.
•Language is quite lucid.

The Indian Soldier By Sushant Saini(@sushant123 )

Rating:-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Book review:- I took this book from my friend Anmol,as a review project, but as of now,I will start reading the same author's books😃

It put a great impact on me and also it gives a great tribute to our indian army soldier.

Completely oblivious to jealousy, greed and the rat race – things that become second nature by the time we ‘mature’.
.
.

The Story is all about the Protagonist Arjun, who aspires to become a soldier. The Story sets forth in right pace from Arjun cracks IIT examination to how he expresses his interest to join NDA. Obtaining full fedge support from his family, he joins NDA with lotta rants. Soon he joins the NDA training he made a lot of friends and memories in due process. Ultimately he gets in Team A, from there it takes a good long period to achieve a special officer cadre. With beautiful narration, the author vividly described the whole scenes of his training period, the life-threatening challenges he takes and the hurdles that were built etc. Encountering an uneventful situation, he decides to change the course eventually lead to another.

This Story was so good as it deals with some sensitive issues happening in & around the army and the wallops. The ordeals the fiction makes in here got it better. And there is an underlying hope that makes you want to keep reading. The Characters were excellent. When I see the cover, I thought it'd mostly picture the duties of the army alone. But this weaves personal experiences along with keeping the chapters short and crisp as well. Hence, It needs two different POV's as it deals with patriotism with the unusual fictitious base in parallel. This might suit for anyone who would want to read heavy theme base.

I love it when the book talks about issues like terrorist attacks and how the government involves to sort it out and this hits it hard.

The story itself is quite unusual from what we get to read usually. The plot is sketched wittily by the author, maintaining the entertainment and invoking many emotions in the reader's mind, building up the curiosity side by side. The narration is one of the most brilliant aspects of the book. On a personal note, I could relate to the way Arjun sees, handles and responds to a situation, with a tinge of sarcasm lingering on to his character throughout. This casual approach worked out really well. The dialogues and description were gelled neatly with the narration, and worked in maintaining the pace of the story which is medium. All the intended emotions like humour, patriotism, friendship, anger etc. were blended well to flow along with the plot. The characterisation was literally like the backbone of the unique and strong plot. With the way every character was built, everyone had a vital role in taking the story forward. I bet most of the reader's would fall in love with granma's character. Although I felt that how the fate of Arjun's gang ends, could have been given more depth. It looked like the entire scene was rushed thereby lessening the importance of those characters. The author has put in a commendable amount of research which is quite evident in many parts of the story. There were a lot of twists and turns, like the inclusion of fantasy but every one of them was rightly positioned. The cover of the book is one thing which I felt could have been better. The title just suggests what it does. Highly recommended to anyone looking to read something different and entertaining. I would give this a 4/5.

Book- The Indian Soldier
Author- Sushant Saini
Genre- Fiction
Pages- 245 pages
Format- Paperback
Publisher- Jufic Books
Rating : 4.75/5 Stars
Cover: 3.75/5 stars

Seeing the title and cover you might think that the book is all about. Indian soldier but it has more to it. It starts from Arjun getting selected for IIT but having a dream of going to NDA to serve the nation in an Indian army. His struggle of making parents how his passion is more important to him. Lessons of life to improve your life and how to overcome your fear in your life was very well presented using  Arjun and Grandmother conversation. We also get to feel the life in NDA through narrators perspective and how these struggles and suffering from the hard training sessions and strict rules make him a better person. And since the environment suits him he puts his heart and soul in the training and transforms himself into the best cadet. As a result, he gets the opportunity to serve his country with the highest responsible post. We also got to see the beautiful bond of friendship between Arjun and his cadets.
Arjun mission after becoming a successful cadet gives us goosebumps and give a push to our patriotic nature. We also got a gist of religion and question related to it.
The end left me with a heavy heart yet I would like to appreciate the author for this wonderful piece of work which has everything in a balance.
Talking about the cover and title it was very well related but also gave a basic idea of the story which was a drawback for me because I like surprises. Though language was simple and easy to read. A good read for first-time reader also.

This is the story of Arjun whose dream is to become a soldier while his parents are keen on him joining the IIT. After a little struggle and heart breaks, he convinces his family and goes on to train at the National Defence Academy. He befriends 3 other trainees and they become life long friends who are there for each other at all times!
He is then made a part of a special team and receives training to handle cases that put the country in a vulnerable position.
He returns back and when he sees a lot of betray and losing his friends , he is vexed and wants to call it quits and leave the country when unexpectedly the plane in which he is travelling gets hijacked. He is the one who can save the passengers but is he willing to do it after all that he has gone through is what forms the last part of the book.
What I liked about the book is the story line. Arjun’s journey from being a boy who is sacred to tell his parents his real dream of the future to the time he joins NDA and finally in the hijacked situation is well portrayed.
We get to catch a glimpse of the lives of teh army officers and what it looks like when there is an outcry.
The language and narration are simple.
The characters are well depicted.Be it the family members, especially Arjun’s grandmother, Arjun’s school friends and later his buddies at the NDA, all are well characterized.
The only thing that could have been better is that the author could have made a situation where Arjun could have used all the technology which he had dealt with under the special training.
Overall , a good read and one that will hold your attention till the end.

Book - The Indian Soldier
Author - Sushant Saini

The story revolves around Arjun, who  dreams of becoming a soldier and serve the nation. But his success in IIT entrance exam throws him in confusion. He wanted to make his family proud by joining the IIT but at the same time he wanted to become a soldier. Later on with the support of his family he pursue his dream.

During his journey in the National Defence Academy, he had to struggle hard to make his dream reality. Each day he has to go through difficult training sessions with strict rules which everyone has to follow. He also builds lifelong friendship with three other trainees during his training sessions. Due to his hard work and dedication, he was given the opportunity to join the most covert and lethal team in the Indian Army. He dedicated his life to the country but one terrorist attack forces him to question everything he ever learned throughout his journey. And finally he decides to leave his homeland.

But destiny has its own plan, before he could leave, a news spread about an airplane carrying over 200 passengers is hijacked by an unnamed group. Many lives were in risk, and the only hope for them is Arjun.

What will happen next?
Will he be able to save 200 passengers?

The story is beautifully narrated by the author. The harsh situations soldiers face and their pure feelings towards their nation without thinking twice for their lives makes us believe that soldiers are real life heroes. The plot is brilliantly written and the language used is lucid. Overall, the book is able to make us aware of the struggle and sacrifices Indian Soldiers makes in order to maintain peace.
