Never has a book overwhelmed me with sadness and despair until now.

This book wrecked me, this book pissed me off. This book makes the reader feel emotions of anger, depression, sadness and yes grief. As these emotions make their appearances in the story - you feel them.

It is presented in an almost Children's book format. Glossy cover with big pages and font. The illustrations by Anibal Santos are gorgeously haunting.

A man loses his wife and walks deep into the world of grief. In this place, on

"The thing about joy and happiness, however, is that it is only ever one stroke away from despair."

Grief is a False God is a short story that focuses on a family living on a farm. Elijah and Jess are happily married and just seem head-over-heels perfect in life. They parent a child and things still seem as if life could not be better. But Elijah discovers his wife dead and floating in the farm's pond one day. What happened? Was it suicide? Or something else? Gemma Amor helps highlight that just

I was lucky enough to win a recent Twitter giveaway for a copy of 𝘎𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘥 by Gemma Amor. I just finished it and let me tell you that no one does psychological and emotional horror better than Gemma Amor. She's earned a spot as one of my favorite authors and I'll automatically want to read anything she puts out.

This is the story about Jess, Elijah, and Penny. Jess and Elijah are married and live on a farm with their baby girl Penny. One day Elijah finds Jess floating dead in their

I just can't say enough good things about Gemma Amor. Dear Laura was one of the strongest novellas I read last year. Till the Score is Paid was one of the best collections of short fiction to come my way in 2019, and it has some quality competition. Truth is I knew I'd love this before I even opened it.
Grief is a False God is a novelette about 50 pages long, which include gorgeous illustrations by Anibal Santos. The artwork makes opting for the paperback over the e-book an utter necessity. It's

*Minor spoilers ahead

If you dont know it by now, I have become a bit of a connoisseur of the writing of Gemma Amor. Since discovering her about nine months ago via Cruel Works of Nature (one of my favorite reads of 2019), I have devoured everything she has out there since (in printed form I am still trying to find time to listen to her via the popular The No Sleep Podcast). Every chance I get, I recommend her and her
