"I want the chance to fight for this - for us."

He was the one I wanted for as long as I could remember.

Sex on legs.

And completely off limits - until he wasn't. My brother's best friend took my first kiss, my virgnity, my heart. He took it all until I had nothing left. Then, he shattered me into a million pieces.

Thank God for college. It wa

What can I say? McKenna and Colton stole my heart. I loved the angst and ups and downs this couple faced. Neither are perfect, but their battles and decision making all leads to one thing - a perfect HEA. I'll certainly be reading more of Clayton's work <3 ...more

Ran out of tissues

I honestly cannot tell you how bad I ugly cried at the end of this book! This book brought so many different emotions in me up until the last sentence. There is definitely a happily ever after ending! McKenna and Coltons chemistry was through the roof! I won’t explain the story because I don’t want to give any spoilers, the only thing I didn’t care for was the cheating that took place... BUT, now looking back, I can’t see the book working in a different scenario so it worked o

It will frustrate me to no end if someone gives this book less stars because of the cheating. Readers were warned going in and I think it’s unfair when some idiot buys an erotic book and then gives it one or two stars because it was sexy. Same here with the cheating. Let’s be honest, you have a better chance of getting cheated on than finding some Prince Charming. The best time of my life was when I learned my hubby had cheated...because of that I did marry a fabulous man 43 years ago who despis ...more

Omg! I have never experienced a more annoying character!! McKenna was beyond ridiculous. We find out from the very beginning of the book that she’s not totally in love with Parker. So why does she then hold on to him for dear life?? I’m not sure I could think of anything more selfish than trapping a person you don’t really love in a marriage for no reason except that he gives you everything you want. There was no choice to make!! If she didn’t want to choose Colton because she was scared, she sh ...more

Absolutely freaking fantastic!!!
I could not get enough of this book. I was engrossed in this love story from the first page. Love everything about it. Yes, there is cheating going on but that just added more to this complicated love story. I loved the witty comebacks, the drama, the suspense, the hotness going on and all the feels too.
I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.
This author is new to me and I'm so glad I found her because I will be reading more from this author for sure.

Normally I despise standalones because it never feels like you get enough. You get so wrapped up in the characters and their feelings and their lives and then boom it’s over with and you’re left with all sorts of questions. That is definitely not the case with this book. The amount of emotions and details in this story is amazing. Nothing was left out, nothing had you questioning what happened in the past or what was going to happen in the future. You knew everything you needed to and didn’t nee ...more

I’ve been taking some time off from ARC to read some books from some of my favorite authors. I’ve become such a fan of books so I really wanted to check out her other work.
Returning to Rockport gave me all the feels. This book was beyond my expectations. I’m finding that as a fan or romance novels I like things complicated. And this book was just that.
A forbidden romance that could not progress due to the fear of upsetting and losing a best friend. Thats exactly what happened to McKenna. Her an

This book had all the angst but was amazing! This is the story of Colton and McKenna. Colton is Mckenna's brother's best friend whom she had a relationship with as a teen. Colton is scared of losing her brother Maverick and rejects her so she moves away to college broken hearted. McKenna returns to Rockport with a fiance and must face Colton and their unresolved feelings for each other. Colton is determined to win her back and hopes she decides to be with him instead of Parker. This story does h ...more
Overall, I liked it. If you're surprised there's cheating... well you didn't read the author's or multiple other warnings and that's on you because it's not a spoiler. I was surprised because the cheating wasn't what I thought. Instead it's the H/h cheating while she's engaged to another man. I'm a hypocrite because I didn't feel bad for the guy and didn't like him from the beginning. Although I did like the writing and Colton and their friends, I really didn't like the heroine, McKenna. Her mat ...more

No, no, no

I’m normally a fan of Kelseys books. But this one NO. The heroine continuously cheats throughout the whole book, no sorrow, no remorse, no justification, she’s just a selfish self absorbed bitch. How readers are expected to believe that neither man minded or continued to put up with it baffles me. My heart broke for both the men but I could not like or enjoy the heroines character in any way shape or form. Each to their own but I like the characters to have a modicum of a moral compass

It's a good book and I love Colton but Mac just let me down towards the end I understood her for a long time and was like okay but then it was like she kept fucking up and blaming Colton when she kept letting him down and he would apologize when he wasn't in the wrong other than the first time he messed up 4 years ago don't get me wrong he should of went and found her then but he was making up for it and she just kept pushing him away even when she thinks she was "picking him"

Ahhh so good!!!

Let me start off by saying that cheating is never good....BUT...This time wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be!!! Dear Lord Colton was the man from the past..the first love..the one...unfortunately she just didn't know it!! This book had me from the first fees chapters and then it was hook, line and sinker..Now I am looking forward to maverick and Tatum's book and ivy's!!! Because i need more!!!

I loved this book but hated it at the same time. I instantly loved Mckenna and Colton as characters in this book. I got really upset and a little annoyed if the story at times. I mean 2 people perfect for each other but couldn't make their minds up. I am so glad it ended the way it did it it didn't I would have been very upset. The book even had me in tears at one point. Great book and storyline even if it took a long time for the chats to get where they eventually end up. ...more

Really enjoyed this book! The story captured me from the start. I’m a sucker for loves that aren’t supposed to be but are-Romeo and Juliet. I did get a little frustrated with the female lead, however not to the point of not wanting to continue the story. Couldn’t put it down and couldn’t read fast enough. Will check out other books by this author!

I’m typically not a fan of romances that feature cheating, but I loved this story! There were so many twists and turns and as much as I was confident I knew who McKenna would (and should) end up with it still kept me on the edge!

🤔 not sure about this one

Omg! I really tried to love Colton, but I just couldn't. Parker was just to trusting and he ended up hurt in the end. Besides I think McKenna should have made Colton suffered a bit more after all he broke her heart before. Another good read Kelsey

Rip my heart out! Oh Colton how I love you! What an amazing roller coaster! Modern day The Notebook! Amazing

(2 days later) I’m still hung up on this book! I was at target and I couldn’t help but think “I wonder what Colton and Princess are doing for the holidays?” Like they are real people! I love when a book consumes me like this!

McKenna & Colton have a sort of secret past. Due to Colton being McKenna’s brothers best friend they kept their relationship under wraps as big brother would have made mincemeat out of Colton for messing with his sister.

Their ending broke McKenna’s heart and she has stayed away for 4 years. She’s now back home to get married and she thinks that she can handle seeing Colton and it not affect her.

There is a slow, quickly turning into an inferno sexual tension build between these two and you enjoy

Full of angst, heartbreaking and make you feel different range of emotions

Usually and normally I do not go for the books where the story is based around not being faithful. But the fact this author written a book convinced me to read it anyway. And I'm not sorry. The subject is not an easy one and the heroine and hero and their actions are not very adult and they are hypocrites but hey, at least this story is very close to the real life where the things described in the course of the plot are re

This is the first book I’ve read where it is depicts the main characters’ relationship as being one which involves one of them being unfaithful, so going into it I wasn’t sure I was going to react to or feel about this book. Mckenna and Colton’s past is what drew me to this book and what kept me reading, if this was just two people who had met and started an affair, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much. Kelsey has created a story with characters who are flawed but real. There is a lot o ...more

MCKENNA MCKENNA .. I HATE HER SOMETIMES, Well now i just lied to you.. I hate her true most of the book.
I just don't understand her sometimes, and the things she does. I can understand that she has to follow her heart, but girl in THAT WHAY? And then sometimes, i just can't but cheer her on.

AND then we have Colton, oooh sweet and funny Colton, CHECK! I can understand why McKenna like him so much.

Oh and jesus i almost forgot about poor poo

MacKenna was such an annoying hypocrite character lmaooooo... I get that Colton broke your heart years ago but girl let go of the past when he already explained the reasons I mean 4 years is actually a lot of time to get over it. The way she played with both Colton & Parker. I wish she could’ve ended up without neither of them because as I said she didn’t know what tf she wanted and only ended up hurting them both and victimizing herself. She didn’t love Parker but she was willing to marry him a ...more

Split decision
There are two ways of looking at this book that is certainly controversial in its subject matter. McKenna and Colton have a past. He is her brother’s best friend so the “relationship” can’t go anywhere because of her age, etc. When she is away at college she meets someone else and has come back home to marry him. However, past feelings flare back up, and this time it is mutual. Is she going to be honest with her fiancé and admit her feelings or is she going to proceed as if everyth
