I married my fake fiancé and now… I want a divorce. I’ve known Mason since we were kids and next-door neighbors. Back when I was more interested in his brother. Scandalous, I know. All of that is in the past. The only thing that matters now is my dying father’s last wish. His dream is to walk me down the aisle. Mason is the man who can help me fulfill that dream. But his billionaire status has attracted a vicious enemy. And I can’t trust him. Mason is playing me. Should I leave him even if I find out that I’m pregnant?
i save my 1 stars for books that are straight up offensive so take this 1,5 stars as the tl;dr it is: i hated this book and everything in it
on paper this should be my shit. fake dating? incredible. enemies to lovers? some good shit. next door neighbors? sign me the FUCK up. except everything was horrible and mason is a straight up r*pist and the single biggest asshole i have ever read about, and aster is simply insufferable, and it has three different last chapters, and i feel bad for any tree that died to print this
i hope i never have to be reminded of this book again
Overall I liked this. Aster and Mason lived next door to each other growing up. Mason is back home for his sisters wedding. While there he finds out that Aster wants to get married before her father gets to sick to remember anything. This relationship was rough and they had to get through a lot before they got their HEA.

This is another hit by Ashlee Price. I loved every minute of it. I was pulling for Mason and hoping he gets his true love.
Mason has loved Aster since she moved into the house next door when they were little. Aster has never seen Mason other than the brother of her crush. When he returns after years of being away, she is surprised how different he is. She is trying to handle her father's Alzheimer as it is slowly getting worst. She comes up with a crazy plan after discovering what would make her father most happy and that is taking her picture on her wedding dress. It was all suppose to be for fake but then Mason and Aster become married for real. Will they be able to make things work?

ME ENCANTO ESTE LIBRO ENSERIO DE PRINCIPIO A FIN POR QUE MASON ES DE ESOS CHICOS QUE TODAS QUISIERAMOS !! FUE PERFECTO ADEMAS QUE ME IDENTIFIQUE CON ASTER POR SU PAPA EL QUERER DAR TU FELICIDAD A CAMBIO DE TU PADRE PERO MASON SIEMPRE ESTUBO AHI PARA SU CHICA ,ME ENCANTO SIN DUDA VOLVERE A LEER SOBRE LA AUTORA
A Fabulous, Angsty Prologue That Had Me Hooked! A Slow Burn Story Of Childhood Crushes, Sibling Rivalry, And Survivng Hardships That Has Your Heart Bleeding For Mason.
Mason Burke, twenty-eight, is a computer genius. A middle child in a family with three children, he grew up feeling invisible. He had not been funny or charming - those traits belonged to his soccer star older brother Leander, the one everyone fussed over and fell in love with. And his baby sister Giselle, as the only girl of the family, always got her share of attention, too. Yet he might have not left home for good that one fateful night before his high school graduation if the girl next door that he adored since he was nine hadn't rejected him, too.
Ten years later, he finally returns home for his sister's wedding - with an MIT degree, eighteen months of service in the army, and groundbreaking medical technology under his belt. His company is literally saving the lives of cancer patients. He had convinced himself he was over the girl next door, but as soon as he sees her he knows that isn't true.
Aster Higgins, twenty-four, was raised by her devoted and overprotective father. Her mother had died when she was ten, and the bond she shared with her father kept her at home after college. She works from home as a graphic artist and cares for her father and three dogs. Managing her dad's recent onset of Alzheimer's has her taxed, and her social life is non-existent, but she would never abandon her father's care to someine else.
When Aster's childhood friend Giselle returns home to be married, she finds herself face to face with Mason again. But ten years had changed him, and she nearly didn't recognize the tall and muscled, ruggedly handsome man she saw. But as much as she knows she owes him an apology, she does her best to avoid him. He had said some choice words to her as well.
When Aster learns that her father's wish is to take pictures at her wedding, she realizes that his disease will rob her of the opportunity of giving him that memory unless she acts quickly. With limited choices, she considers asking Mason, whom her father admires, to play the part of her fake fiance.
Mason and Aster's story is an angsty slow burn that spans nearly two decades. A dose of suspense on top of the personal journeys of the couple adds to the depth of their intertwined stories. Underneath his cold facade, Mason desperately cries out to be loved, while Aster's selfless devotion has her denying her own happiness. Near the end, her perspecive shifts and she begins to see Mason in a different light. The couple eventually earns a well-deserved HEA!
I have only one complaint about this story. After seeing Mason go so long without feeling loved, I would have enjoyed a longer ending that got inside his head and illustrated more fully his joy and peace.
Mason and Aster's story takes you on an emotional and very rewarding journey. A slow burn romance with a hint of suspense, it is a story of childhood crushes, sibling rivalry, and survivng hardships that has your heart bleeding. The POV alternates between Mason and Aster. It is very well-written. The plot is complex and unfolds beautifully. The characters are well-defined. Mason will capture your heart! I rate this book five stars.

Ashlee Price’s heroes are so perfectly flawed that they are lovable. These are harlequin stories with a more human element to the heroes and I just love how the onus is not on the hero alone to grovel or fight for the relationship, even the heroines have to pay their own dues!
Mason has always been in love with Aster, who’s only had eyes for his cooler jock older brother. When the older bro suffers his first tragedy, Mason makes a play at Aster and gets rejected with a slap to the face. Feeling no ties to the community anymore - he’s always been overlooked by his family - he heads out and makes a name for himself, joins the army then creates his company. He’s back now for his sister’s wedding and meets Aster again who’s dealing with hiding her dad’s Alzheimer’s from everyone. Mason tries to help, Aster coldly rejects him at every turn till she realises she needs him to play fake fiancé. When the little sister does a runaway bride, Mason and Aster step in and get married - for real though. Aster is unhappy it’s real. Mason is dejected but he tries to give her everything hoping she’ll realise his love for her. There’s quite a roller coaster of a ride with bombs and hacking and kidnapping till they finally get their happily ever after, with a lot of lovely sexy interludes.
The GOOD: Mason is flawed and he’s really yearning to be loved only he does not let that bitterness rule him, like all harlequin novels tend to make the heroes be. His little sister is quite lovable and endearing. The relationships in each family unit and then the unfolding of Aster and Mason’s love was such a joy to read. The action towards the end of the story was just right for a story like this.
The BAD: Aster’s flip flopping behaviour from trusting one minute and then not trusting him is a bit much to handle some times. Mason admitted he’s been in love with her since they were kids, but when she finds out about his promise to her dad, she flips out on him and doesn’t want to really enjoy the fact that she’s pregnant with Mason. She’s spiteful at times to Mason, unnecessarily at times, but Mason doesn’t react too badly to those and it helps us move forward with the story.
The LOVABLE: Mason telling his little sister that she can have a career and a family at the same time that he is more feminist than she is. The sex between Mason and Aster is really spicy hot, even if it starts after two thirds of the story is under way. Mason’s badass moments with his hacking and figuring things out were great. Aster’s moment of freeing herself from her captor was exciting. The angst in the story was the perfect balance in this story, I loved it.
WISHFUL THINKING: Really wish there was more closure in terms of Mason’s parents and his elder brother. But even then it is perfect the way the story played out.
Wow I’m reading some terrific books lately and this story Fiancé Next Door by Ashlee Price is one of them. My heart went out to Mason who was the middle child there’s nothing worse than that but when the girl next door who he loved smacked his face for insinuating that he was heartless well he had enough he packed his bags and left home. 10 years later Mason is back for his sisters wedding he see’s Aster walking the dogs and he runs over to her then suddenly they hear a crash inside Aster’s house they both run in and they find Aster’s father on the floor he suffers from Alzheimer’s and he thought that Aster was his wife but Aster helped her father see who she is. Aster asks Mason not to tell anyone he gives her a hug and he said to let him know if she needs anything then Aster thought about what her father had wanted was to walk her down the isle before he gets worse, maybe Mason will be able to help her. Fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
This story had so many romantic tropes in it that a lover of romantic fiction will enjoy this story.
The story is of Aster and Mason who have been neighbours in their childhood and part in a misunderstanding of sorts and a few years later they are back together and the circumstances force them to get into a marriage. Their journey till here and thereafter of discovering their love and coming to terms with it is what this story is about.
The story flows well but in some places i find the narrative fragmented. The chemistry between the two protagonists is well depicted. The secondary characters have been talked about just enough for the story to progress. This is a story of an almost fake relationship, a story of second chances, a story of friendship all in one.
If you love to read romantic stories with a bit of thrill in it then you may like this story.

Even though Aster grew up next door to Mason she never noticed his feelings for her because she only had eyes for his brother. When Mason kissed Aster for the first time she slapped him in return and he was heartbroken and ran. After ten long years he returns home for his sisters wedding and realizes he still loves Aster, but she is too busy taking care of her father to notice. As they enter a sham marriage to make her father happy before he looses all his memories the rats come out of the woodwork and set their sights on Mason. When Aster is kidnapped will he be able to save her or loose his love forever?

I received an arc for an honest review. I really enjoyed this story. Mason and Aster have had a long history with each other. However, Mason has had feelings for Aster for most of his life. Mason has always felt invisible and Aster said things to him that she really shouldn't have. Mason leaves, and doesn't return for 10 years for his sister's wedding. He thought he had resolved his feeling for Aster, but when he sees her at the wedding, he knows he was just lying to himself. Aster's father is in failing health, and all he wants is to see his daughter get married. This is where Mason comes in to the picture again. This is a great story and I highly recommend it.
I thought this story was so different than other fake fiance especially as it became a on paper marriage. When Mason's sister does not show up for her wedding he ask Aster father for Abby's hand in marriage because they had everything there so why waste it? Mason and Aster go through so many ups and downs discovering that there is real love for each other. When two people overcome all the complications in life you know their time together as husband and wife will be forever. So ten years later we read about their three children and can hear the love they have for each other as well as their children. A great book to purchase and read.
As teenagers, Aster and Mason were torn apart by a tragic misunderstanding (their first Kiss). However, they get their second chance. They have to deal with their doubts and trip over them again and again – it made me cry, but the chemistry between them is hot and sizzlig. Will they get this time a HEA? Find out for yourself.
This story is the perfect mix of drama, heartbreak, crime, and full-blown love. It’s well-written and entertaining, the storyline is well-paced and the characters are well-developed.
So, go ahead, grab a cup of coffee, grab this book and let it's magic give You a relaxing reading time.
Aster and Max grew up together as neighbors but Aster always had a crush on his older brother. Now they are all grown up and Mason is back home after doing amazing work and becoming a billionaire. Aster is taking care of her father who has Alzheimer’s and he wants nothing more than to take a picture with his daughter in her wedding dress. Will Mason help that dream come true? This is a fast-paced read with great characters, so much depth. There is also plenty of emotion and the story really draws you in. I liked it.
This is the story of Mason & Aster, with his brother Leander as a side character. They lived next door to each other in their childhood. Aster had a crush on Leander back then. Mason returns for his sister's wedding after ten years of being away. From the time he comes home, the story line is excellent. Things just keep happening between Mason and Aster, but not good things, and then they are. This is a compelling story and I could not put it down until it was finished. Kudos to you, Ashlee Price, on a great, great story.
Aster and Mason have been neighbors for most of their lives. And when Mason finally returns home, Aster can see that he's changed but still remains the same. Mason is unprepared for the grown up version of Aster and just doesn't respond well, causing friction between them when they really want to be with each other.
Ashlee Price has given us a unique story. Some might not see that but Mason and Aster's story is good. It shows us how to overcome differences and compromise. Ms Price's latest gives us angst, danger, suspense, love (many different kinds), and, of course, hot hot sex.
Mason and Aster were both great characters. They lived next door to each other as kids. When Mason returns ten years later a Billionaire that's when Aster finally notices him. Mason had always had a crush on her. Dealing with her father's Alzheimers has left her stressed. When seeing Aster again for a wedding she comes up with a way for her father to have his wish of taking a part in her wedding. This was a great story with a slow build to steam. Loved it! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received via Booksprout.
I swear that my anxiety was through the roof reading this; in a good way. The story is just so good. There is drama and intrigue and the fake fiance trope but done so well that I couldn't help but root for Aster and Mason. I felt for her and her dad but I also felt frustrated at their inability to communicate. Gosh! You won't regret it.

It’s not easy to want someone that only want your brother. It’s not easy to always be compared to the same perfect brother and always come on the second place. That’s Mason! Then things change... Suddenly he is married to Aster, who only saw his brother. It was a wondeful story and I espessially liked the the small story inside, with the capture of Aster. It added to the story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Mason admired Aster since she was a teenager, but she had a crush on his brother instead. After a tragic event, Mason kissed Aster but then left town. Ten years later he returned for his sister’s wedding and the feelings for Aster resurfaced. After granting a wish by Aster’s father, Mason and Aster get married. The relationship is tumultuous and full of drama caused by outsiders. They battle through it beautifully. Great read.
I gave this book 5 stars. The storyline was very touching and really grabbed at your heartstrings! Aster and Mason were neighbors and childhood friends, he always loved her and she liked the brother! This was a story about family, love, steamy chemistry, heartbreak, betrayal, mystery and learning how to forgive. I hope we get to see more of this family, I want more 🙌🙌♥️
I thought that this was a very enjoyable read that had a storyline with a very genuine feel and deeply engaging characters. This book will give you plenty of feels as Mason and Aster's story unfolds. My heart really ached for these two. This is a slow burning, angst filled, heartstring puller. I am posting an independent, impartial review.
Very realistic story, especially the prologue. I liked Mason he was a very nice, very honest character, especially for a guy. Wanted to do the right thing, especially at the beginning of the book. The story flows very quickly and perfectly. So, yeah, this is yet another win from this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mason and Astor grew up neighbors. She had a crush on his older brother and he had a crush on her. She broke his heart his senior year. Years later he came home for his sisters wedding only he ended up the groom and Aster the bride. Fun and exciting story

An enjoyable well written childhood second chance romance. This entertaining storyline has suspense, romance, angst, fears, secrets, dream fulfillment, hardship survival, love, and some steamy scenes. The characters are interesting and well developed with hot chemistry. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
An entertaining story worth reading. This is well written with a good storyline. The characters are likable and well developed. I liked that Mason had attitude and was determined. The story has romance, struggles, and drama. Just enough of everything to keep you turning the pages. I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to reading more from this author.
