I bought my own copy after checking this out from the library. Helpful information and practical. Just wish there was more, particularly on garden layout design and planning. Great resource!
This book is one of my top 10 favorite Gardening books. I have lots of Gardening books but this one I read and reread continually. It’s a must own for low maintenance gardens.
As far as vegetable gardening goes I think this book has a lot of value. But it’s an old book and does not reflect the new gardening ethos of biodiversity, planting for our planet. For instance the three ground covers she suggests are periwinkle, pachysandra and English Ivy. Do not plant any of these as they are invasives destroying our natural landscape!
