Corgi Case Files #8

Case of the Ostentatious Otters

Rate this book
When a dead SCUBA diver is discovered during their road trip vacation to Monterey, CA, Zack, Jillian and the two corgis, Sherlock and Watson, become embroiled in a race to discover what the diver had been doing when he died.

Compounding their investigation is the presence of a group of playful otters, who just so happen to be using what appears to be gold coins as tools to open shellfish. Are the two events related? Could the deceased diver have located a sunken treasure ship off the coast of Monterey?

Join Zack and the gang for fun in the surf and sun!

While on vacation, the corgis found some unusual playmates. They help find a missing coin, solve a murder, and find sunken treasure. I love these smart sassy dogs. Mr. Poole's characters are so believable.

If you've never met these two fun and furry crime solvers (Mr Sherlock and Ms Watson) and their widowed humans, you're missing a lot of fun! Zack's girlfriend Jillian, the two dogs, and a couple of friends are off on a vacation to Monterey, California just to get away. They do have a good time, but there's a body, a coin theft, a theft at the aquarium, and more. All of the characters certainly are, and the sleuthing is well done. Loved it! Easily a stand alone, but why?.
Bob Johnson aces the narration with just the right touch that highlights the humor by downplaying the guffaws.
I won this audio in a giveaway.

If you have not read this series and you enjoy dogs, cozy mysteries, and a good laugh then you really should give it a try. I love this series so much for letting me just escape into a fun different world. This book takes place in Monterey California a place not far from home for me and a place I love to escape to. I don't want to give anything away but this might be my favorite book yet in this series. Bob Johnson is the narrator of this series and his wonderful voice is perfect for the series. I so look forward to hearing more of these stories. I will say that the series does follow along with a storyline but if you were just coming to the series you would not be lost.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the latest in the series about these 2 adorable Corgi detectives, Sherlock and Watson.

Jillian and Zack, together with Harry and Julie have travelled to Monterey for a vacation, but where the 2 Corgis go, there's bound to be a mystery to solve. This time it's a dead duvet and a lost coin.

The Corgis make some new friends, the playful Otters who live in the sea off the beach in Monterey.

Loved this book, couldn't put it down! Really looking forward to the next in the series.....

Sherlock and Watson the dynamic dog duo!

Oh, and their people are back too! If you haven't tried the Corgi Case File series out yet, you are in for a wonderful surprise. In this installment our intrepid and stubborn (inherent corgi trait, I can vouch for it) corgi duo are vacationing with their people when they befriend otters, solve several mysteries and charm the local police department. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a fun mystery series with great characters, complex plots and very clever dogs!
I'm already anxious for the next installment!

Love love love this series of cozy corgi books! Each one gets better than the last and can’t wait for the next one. If you haven’t tried any of this authors books you need to check him out. He has several series and I’m sure you will find one you like. If you have grandkids his fantasy series is really fun and they won’t be disappointed. The corgi mysteries are good to start from the beginning so you get the background as you go forward. Enjoy!

Another great novel in the series. This time, they are on vacation, and they can't help but stumble upon a case to solve. Sherlock and Watson can't go anywhere without solving crime! And they're famous. The local police department had heard of the dogs and wanted their help. And those darn Otters, they're all just a bunch of pirates!

Looking forward to the next book in the series.
The audio narration was excellent as always!

A great read on a snowy weekend

Once again, Poole does not disappoint. Packed into his luggage, the reader takes a vacation with Zach, Jillian, Harry and Julie (and, of course, Sherlock and Watson) for a vacation that turns into a crime to solve.

Always entertaining, and delightfully G-rated, Poole gives us an escape from reality and a chance to feel the sun on our faces for another Corgi adventure.

The Corgi case files are all good reads

I have just finished the whole series and each and every one was very good. If you like books where the dog or shall I say dogs are the star of the book you will love these books. The real plus was the humans in the book were not made out to be morons.

Swimming with the Otters

A vacation is only a vacation if you're not working. Zach just can't help finding dead bodies. With Jillian, Harry,Jules and the two master detectors, Sherlock and Watson, A drowned diver is the beginning of a very wet adventure. Looking forward to book #9.

You have to love Corgis and mysteries, and this series has both.

I have read most of the series, and enjoyed them immensely. Having been the lucky person to have been chosen by an adorable male tri-colored Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, I loved this entire series. Corgis are described very well by this author. His storyline is good as well.
